Garozzo's Ristorante - Kansas City Ratings and Reviews
Garozzo's is always great. I can't think of a single bad or questionable thing to say about it. The food is top notch. The service is so good that I always feel like I'm at home. They chill the wine to perfection. They can't guarantee this but this was only the second time that I haven't run into a sports celebrity (although a contingent of UMKC athletes did show up)
Ok, first off: when I made this reservation for 3 I had forgotten it was KC Restaurant Week. We arrived 10 mins early, but weren't seated until 20 mins after reservation time. I can forgive a lot of things during such a busy evening. Some of the more glaring issues were: 1) no wine chiller for a bottle of white (it was just left on the table); 2) requests remained unfilled (spoons for pasta, etc) for long periods that finally required a reminder. BUT the biggest was the front desk, 20 mins past reservation time is pretty bad. Every server can get in the weeds, and that's understandable. But the front desk should be helping out in these types of circumstances.
However, this continues to be one of my favorite places for Italian in KC, but they do need to ensure there loyal customers remain so.
My family had a great time at Garozzo's! The River Market location was extremely busy due to KC Restaurant Week. We had a reservation for 6, but weren't seated until 6:30 due to other patrons lingering at tables. The host, Richard, comped us 2 appetizers because our wait was so long, and otherwise the service was exemplary. Garozzo's food is fantastic, but it is not cheap! It's well worth the money for a special occasion. Thanks for a great night, Garozzo's!
I had never been here before, but heard good things. It lived up to what i heard, and more. Food was amazing, but the service was so much better than that. Great atmosphere, was quiet, and a darkly lit room gave a great romantic feel. Definitely wasn't expecting what it was based on its location.
Garozzo’s never disappoints. It was recommended by someone in St Louis and it’s now my favorite place in KC to eat for a nice meal. Ambiance is soothing and enjoyable. Food is always on point, never short on flavor. Truffle ravioli as an appetizer. Spiedini and seafood ravioli are exquisite. Texture, flavor, comfort, and the ravioli sauce I could eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack.
Garozzo's is an excellent restaurant if you are seeking authentic Italian food. Having moved here from Western NY, where (Italian) food is supreme, we were thrilled to find Garozzo's. Their homemade limoncello is out of this world, and a must! Every dish we've ever had is executed perfectly. For the total experience of Garozzo's, you must dine at the downtown location!
I really enjoyed my time at Garozzo's. I will definitely be back. I went on New Year's Eve with my boyfriend for a date. I had a reservation for 8:30, but I was not sat at my table for almost an hour. But hey, it was NYE and the restaurant was packed. It ended up working out just fine though, because my boyfriend and I found a spot at the bar after about 10 minutes. We enjoyed two martinis as we waited for our table. The bar was very loud and very crowed, but I still enjoyed myself. The bartenders were quite nice as well. Once we were sat at our table, the room was very loud! We almost wanted to go back to the bar, but our server ended up making our experience very enjoyable. She was VERY time efficient- one of the best servers I have had in a very long time. Even though the restaurant was very busy, everything happened without a wait, and we enjoyed all of her food recommendations. My boyfriend and I both got different types of the spedini, which was delicious! Breaded Italian chicken that is then grilled?! Oh it was so yummy. I didn't really like the red sauce at all, but the amagio sauce on the noodles was delicious. My only complaint with the service was that she brought us the wrong bottle of wine. Unfortunately for us, we did not realize it until after we had opened the bottle, so we decided not to say anything. We still enjoyed the wine though, so no worries. Overall, I really enjoyed my time, and like I said, I will be back.
We are new to Kansas City and this was our first time there. It is a cozy friendly place where we were greeted when we walked in warmly. The food was fantastic and service was great. This is very authentic, delicious Italian food. We hope we can go back soon.
