Garozzo's Ristorante - Kansas City Ratings and Reviews
Really great service and very good food. Only drawback was lack of privacy. Too crowded, but it was Valentine's Day. Everyone was friendly but it was hard to talk without getting involved in the conversation of others.
It was our first time there but we'll definitely go back.
The location is in a very dangerous part of KCMO. Once we were seated they look us outsides and up some stairs, which I thought was very odd. The waiter was rude, and quite awkward. The food was heinous. The meat on the lasagna was basically puréed, and the chicken Alfredo was the most bland dish I’ve ever tasted. Above all, the place is extremely over priced for what you receive. Just go to Olive Garden, guys.
I've been coming here for special occasions since I was a kid, and I'm excited to bring my kids now. The food is amazing, service always top notch, and atmosphere exciting but warm and inviting. You feel like you're in a family there and it's not unusual to find tables and diners interacting with others outside of their own. Hands down my favorite place for special occasions.
I asked for flowers and a card for our dinner plans. When i arrived i was looked at crazy for veing 30 minutes early. I was then asked my name twice to confirm my reservation and he still couldnt find it. Finally another gentelman asked my name and found it. At 3pm that day i called and spoke with a Matt about the flowers and the card and he told me he will pass it along and it wont be an issue and it was. Apparently thats not a option, which is fine if i would have known but Matt said no problem. I told the waitress and showed her my request and still nothing came of it. 25 years ago my wife and i were there for prom and i thought id take her down memory lane and i feel i failed with no flowers and a card like i did in the past.
It was a lot smaller than I expected as the other location is bigger. Bar is super small. Our table for two was cozy - but we were very close to the couple next to us. A bit too close for my liking. The Overland Park location is the better one, in my opinion, but go to this location to see where it all began.
I had the dinner salad before my entrée, and the salad was wonderful.
My husband and I visit Garozzo’s once a year to celebrate our birthdays and Valentine’s Day. We made a reservation early, and were seated quickly upon arrival. However, we sat in the bar area, which was packed with people and loud. Our waitress was amazing. Service was great! But before we were done with our meal, a total of four different employees, not including our waitress, asked if we were ready for our plates to be cleared. I realize the place was extremely busy, but that experience of feeling rushed left me feeling very annoyed. I’m sure we will return again next year, but maybe not on a weekend night.
Great place for Chicken Spiedini, our table had the Samantha, Garozzo’s, and Gabriella styles. Very generous portions cooked to perfection. The side pasta with the Garozzo was very generic and not hot. Nice selection of wines at various prices. Service was quick but not overly attentive. The rooms are packed tight, small, and as a result very noisy.
So, overall great entrees at very good price and fast. Not great for a romantic dinner or conversing with friends due to crowding and noise level.
Went in for our anniversary, I feel like I need to make a note next time we come in about where we would prefer a table. The last two times we have come we were put into this tiny table basically sitting at another table with another group because we were so close and the next time we were put at another tiny table next to the door and where the food was being brought in and out, very distracting and cheap feeling.
Overall the food is great and our server was very good.
Love the ambience of Garozzo's on Harrison street in Kansas City. Our server did a great job of timing our cocktails, the wine, salads and main courses. The food was just delicious and plentiful. One of our favorite go to restaurants where we bring guests from out of town.
Spiedini was spectacular as always. Friendly service, however the bread wasn't served with our salad. It came once the entrees were delivered. Ran out of water...husband had to pour some of his in my glass. I always recommend this restaurant, as the service and food are typically pretty good.
Best Italian food in downtown KC. The toasted ravioli appetizer is different than most in KC with a softer breading more like you find in St Louis - none better locally. The cannelloni with red cream sauce was very well prepared. And the Garozxo Cellars Chianti is worth the extra couple of dollars per glass. Restaurant has a great vibe/ambiance, highly recommend!
Our server was not observant. Our dining experience started when our server did not welcome us and then only asked one of us for our drink order. He did not ask if we wanted a appetizer. I had to call him back. This bad service continued throughout our meal. From our drinks not being filled to our food being slid in front of us with out a word. The server was withdrawn from the time we arrived till the time we left. Even asking him to box our food to go was met with a attitude. We have dined at Garozzo's for twenty years and have never had this bad of a server.
I had to apologize to my wife on the way home for a luncheon date to be this bad. We will not let
this experience detour us in the future. We will continue to dine at your restaurant.
Everything was very good. I had the plate with 3 pastas, sauce, meatball and Italian sausage. However, it was far more food than could reasonably be eaten. Even in my younger days. I believe you could cut the portion in half and most people still couldn't eat it all!
Garrozzos is always a fun night. The food is exceptional. The service flawless. Affordable wines by the glass or bottle. Cozy neighborhood bar/restaurant with some of the best dishes anywhere. Have the stuffed artichoke, Italian butter, and calamari to start. House salad perfectly balanced, chicken spidini Garrozzo is the original and amazing. Linguini seafood absolutely the best. Either share a dish or expect leftovers for another meal.
