Wonderful did and great service. Very noisy but worth it.
Delicious food and outstanding service. Always a little hesitant at fusion type restaurants but this managed to be authentic and new at the same time. Don’t skip the pakora or confections! Can’t wait to go back for more.
The food was fantastic; really imaginative. The service was great. I am glad we ate outside as it was very loud and cold inside. We will definitely go back.
Really good food. So different but not so weird that you can’t order something 🤪. Such amazing flavors and unique!
Loved Garland and will definitely be back. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and we had a wonderful time. Service was great and drinks were yummy and food was delicious! It has a funky and fun vibe. Can’t wait to come back with friends.
This is the third time I've been there with clients and each time we had Bonnieas a server. She is awesome!
We loved the creative and delicious small plates. Everything was tasty and unique. A joyful experience and cannot wait to go back.
Outstanding and has been consistently so. Took a friend from out of town who is a chef and she loved it! Just keep doing what you do!!
Super cool restaurant with great food and good service. It has never disappointed
Spicy fresh quality food, only negative PARKING
The food was fantastic. I had the cauliflower 65, which was delicious and filling. My husband got the pork belly bowl, which he loved. The food is so unique--it is a special place. Our server was wonderful. She was so professional--she did a great job. She didn't hover but was there when we needed her.
We patron Garland regularly and are always pleased with everything from the food to the setting and service. They helped make my wife’s birthday very special and enormously fun for our entire party. our favorite place in town by far! Thank you!
What a great experience! We are in Raleigh for Labor Day Weekend. I open the September issue of Southern Living and on page 91 is a spread on Garland. We made a reservation for 4 (2 adults, 2 children age 14 and 11 who are very good eaters) and voila, we were there Saturday night.
The food is fantastic! We shared seven plates throughout the evening and loved each one. The watermelon peanut chaat blew us away! Was not expecting such a perfect combo of flavor and texture. This is a dish you could eat daily and we fought over the last spoon. The Moroccan hummus we ordered twice...a totally unique version of hummus. We love hummus....my girls were asking if we could buy a third portion to take home....this is hummus from another world. Warm, fragrant with spice, with chickpeas, baby tomatoes and super crispy pita! And, the pita matched the serving so didn’t have all hummus, no chips or vice versa. The cucumbers, tomatoes/peach dish, veg fritters with chutney, cauliflower 65 did not disappoint and were all delicious.
Our only miss was cocktails...On the Peach missed peachiness and tequila, which was odd given we are at the height of peach season; the mocktail Don’s Fizz had a funny aftertaste (almost soapy) that didn’t resonate.
Go to Garland for fantastic food, order a beer or glass of wine and be in heaven!!
And our super cute waitress was very sweet; most servers get nervous when they see kids (and ours were the only teen/preteen in the place) at traditionally adult restaurants, but once she saw our girls take down everything put in front of them with enthusiasm, she could not have been nicer.
Excellent food, service and ambiance! We had a fantastic experience sharing small plates for dinner! It a must come back place!
Our server was one of the best we've ever had here in Raleigh. The noise level was just a tad high (we sere seated in the back) but never reached an annoying level. Mixed drinks were good and we definitely plan to return.
Been going to Garland pretty much since it opened. This possibly was the best meal we've had there. Just keeps getting better and more delicious!!
Garland has creatively prepared food in a lively, attractive space.
Garland is my favorite hidden gem Restaurant in Raleigh. Indian fusion of sorts, but they have very creative dishes that are unlike anything else in the area. The atmosphere is tremendously cool, as are the specialty drinks. The Chicken 65 and the cripsy pork bowl are some of the best dishes in town. Try it out!
Great first experience. Not a kid friendly place yet they were quite accommodating by allowing us to order roti for our toddler. He loved it! Was pleasantly surprised with the culinary experience!
Over-rated. Heirloom tomatoes dish was OK. Interesting flavor. The tandoori chicken was way too salty. Couldn't even finish it. My gf ordered the brisket and ate a few bites before stopping, she didn't like it. It had 4 small pieces of meat in the whole dish. Our server was awful. Impatient and inattentive. And he kept clicking his pen like a drug addict.
On the plus side, the ambience is nice but loud. The manager was really nice.
We will definitely be back. It was so good and everyone was so nice.
Terrific, amazing and innovative food - great staff. A little loud for our conversational needs. But food makes it so worthwhile!
Outstanding food, follow your server's recommendations, they know what goin on. Will be back if I am in Raleigh again
Pakora chaat was amazing..vegetable curry also great, too many potatoes though. The chicken tandoori was phenomenal...This guy knows how to cook real indian food
We had a wonderful meal! The noise level was perfect for conversation until the band started practicing upstairs :-( That was over in a few moments, however, and then everything was excellent.
Came to celebrate my birthday and was blown away by the food! Amazing flavors.
Great food. The food is really amazing.Would surely recommend this place
Would go to Garland 1000 times over! Amazing place: food, service, ambiance, everything.
The food was great, and we had nice service. Our only complaint was that the server told us the desserts were small, $3 portions, with a couple of additional items that weren't on the menu. We ordered 2. We were unhappily surprised when we received the bill and found that the one we ordered that was not on the menu was $12!
Waaaaay over priced. With 2 appetizers and 3 entrées, it came out to about $50/person. The food was good, but certainly not that good.
Ridiculously loud, Super salty, Uncomfortably hard seats
Unique combinations of foods and flavors! Food and service are excellent!
Great food, great service. We’ll be back.
Great food, atmosphere and service. Will certainly be a new regular for us!
Loved Garland! Definitely a place to visit if you are tired of the same old fare. Unique flavors, delicious! Can’t wait to go back.
So, my input will decide if people want to go eat here or not... hmmmm
Well, let’s start off the evening shall we....
After reading all the positive feedback, my husband, daughter and I decided to go to Garland for our 19 year Anniversary.
We made reservations but when we arrived there were no available seating so we were instructed by the hostess to wait at the bar. However, looking around there were multiple empty tables available. A couple arrived right after and we’re seated immediately...hhmmmmm
The hostess returned after 5 minutes and told us that there was a cancellation so now there was a table available for us ..huh?.....but we had made our own reservation. (so I guess if that cancellation didn’t happen where would we sit and how long would we be waiting?)
We were seated in front of the restroom doors.... really nice view for our anniversary pictures to share on Instagram by the way. Table was wobbly, no welcoming messages, no explanation of the menu and the waitress was rather curt. It was our first time at Garland and I felt unwelcome.
Food may have been the most delicious meal on the planet but I was too upset to enjoy it. (but who cares, it’s only 1 person complaining)
Ms. Cheetie Kumar, please train some of your staff to be courteous, to acknowledge special occasions and learn the menu. First impressions are very very very important.
This place is my favorite! I always bring friends from out of town. Food is so creative and amazing!!!
We ordered the lunch special which was the catfish and the chicken Tikka Salad sandwich as well as the Chili-peanut cucumber salad and everything was delicious! I wish the lunch menu wasn’t so limited though and that they offered some favorites like the birds nest. Dessert during lunch isn’t an option either. Our server could have been more hospitable.
Exceptional dishes, complex and wonderful flavors, beautiful interior. If I could improve one thing it would be the noise level.
Amazing meal...every dish unique and every bite delivered an array of spices and flavors. Killer service took us through most of the menu himself...definitely coming back.
