Always great
This is a restaurant that you can depend on, the food is fresh, high quality & interesting. Nice price range, I appreciate that. Good mixed drinks, wine.
Lovely and welcoming neighborhood restaurant. Perfect for the occasion of meeting with out of town friends. Handsome and flattering atmosphere. I felt it gave off a very City vibe that was at once sophisticated and cozy comfortable. Would definitely go again. If I lived in the neighborhood I'd be here once a week at least.
On the advice of a friend we stopped at Garibaldi's for dinner on the way to the airport. It's a small, neighborhood kind of place, nice bar, very quiet. Wine list is ok, my wife had a cocktail which she liked and I had a glass of nebbiolo which was ok. For dinner we had a half bottle of Vacqueyras which was very nice, I really like that they had 1/2 bottles wish more restaurants did. For starters my wife had the gnocchi, which she liked, I had the soup, broccoli cheddar, which was ok, not great. For entrees she had the mussels which were really good, great broth and I had the short rib which was disappointing. The rib was fatty, all of the fat and collagen had not been rendered off, it had the taste of cinnamon in the sauce and the rib which I didn't enjoy at all. The rib was put on a bed of of lumpy polenta which was an afterthought to me. If the polenta had been nice and creamy it might have saved the dish, as it was, I ate a bite or two of the polenta and left it. Love the atmosphere, wish the food was better.
Been here several times. Great service, and delicious food! Shared the salmon, patas bravas and asparagus starters - all were invitingly presented, and tasted out of this world. The Perfect, Perfect Manhattan was...perfect. The lamb I'll come back for...again and again. Just amazing how Garibaldi's unfailingly keeps up their quality standard over the years.
neighborhood restaurant with excellent food. Nice setting, table cloths---good service. Bar Tender, Jenny, is outstanding and makes a mean drink --all the way to the top --so no half filled martini glasses---reasonable to at about $14--nice beer, cocktails and bar good for much less between 5-6pm. Go--the dinner menu is very good and consistent.
We had requested a quite table, but certainly didn't get one. Restaurant was dreadfully noisy! In addition, our table for two was veeeery long and skinny and my wife and I simply could not hear each other. (We are not deaf!) Food was excellent, however. We just can not recommend it because of the unpleasant din.
Great value and great neighborhood restaurant. Not too big to be noisy and overwhelming with people. Good ambiance.
Great ecletic menu. Food was awesome. Wine selection great if you want to buy full bottles. Romantic ambiance unless you are sitting next to someone who is loud, you can hear the whole conversation. Was not impressed by our male waiter...snarky and snapped at us at one point. Unpleasant attitude.
A great date night for my husband and me. Server was attentive and quite knowledgeable. Food was very tasty.
Friendly, warm service w/great food & you can actually have a conversation ... brought some out of towners and they loved it.
This is my standby neighborhood place. I love it.
This restaurant adds a 5% surcharge for “San Francisco Business Expenses” which they only disclose in the finest of print at the bottom of their menu and then on the bill after you’ve dined. Was this some kind of political statement? All businesses in major US cities pay higher taxes and fees than their counterparts elsewhere. It’s part of doing business. I found it very tacky that they didn’t adjust adjust their menu prices to reflect such expenses but slip in this stealth service charge. Considering the huge mark up on bottles on their very ordinary wine list, they could take the Cost is doing business in SF out of that. There is nothing about this restaurant that justified my trek from the North Bay to dine in the city.
Surprising very slow and sloppy service even though there were few diners.. This is unusual here.
I hope it is not the new norm. Mussels were sandy and almost inedible.
This has been our go-to neighborhood place for years. What’s up?
The menu is wonderful. Food was excellent. It's both nice and casual. Perfect for many occasions,
we had not been to the restaurant in over 18 years. Our past experiences had been outstanding and Garibaldi's served as the location for several office holiday dinners. This latest visit did not disappoint. The cocktails were wonderful, the food excellent and the service attentive and informative. We plan to go back soon.
This was the best meal out we've had in a while - the gnocchi appetizer is delicious, as was the Chicken Milanese. Service and ambiance were very nice, prices are reasonable given that this is a high end dining experience. I'll definitely go back again.
Elizabeth, Troy and Mirle are so gracious. I love to bring my Granddaughter for lunch after her ballet class at jcc. Honestly, it’s wonderful!
The food was very good. As it was early on Oscar night the restaurant want busy. My wife asked for the spinach with the popular chicken milenase. They might make that change in the menu, the fresh spinach was great and added a lot of color to the plate.
We were the first group that sat down, n yet the waiter went to greet n serve the guests who checked in after us. Our reservation was at 530pm. It too a while before someone comes to send us water.
We were basically been ignored for a good 15 mins
I felt that because we are Asians, and i dont see any other Asians in the restaurant.
Waiter did his job, I expect better service from a fancy restaurant like Garibaldi.
Our food was delicious and they were able to serve us very quickly! We were in a bit of a hurry to see a movie across the street at the Vogue, and it was no problem. We’ve been going to Garibaldis for 21 years, and it still has a warm, inviting atmosphere and excellent food.
We have been to Garibaldi's several times and always look forward to returning. The appetizer and entree selections are always outstanding. On our last visit, we ordered two desserts and were somewhat disappointed with both. The Profiteroles were very dry and seemed stale . The lemon panacotta was tasty but rather small. We have been there for lunch also and will return.
Consistently excellent food and service. The Salmon Tartare was especially good. The chopped salad was amazing as well.
Had the Chopped Salad with Chicken added ($22) - basically lightly dressed, chopped lettuce and carrots with a few, small pieces of chicken. Not very tasty and certainly not worth $22. Service was pleasant, but not very attentive.
Great food. Quaint neighborhood gem.
Delicious meal and we were well cared for from beginning to end.
Food was just ok. Prices high. Service excellent.
Beet salad was superb; salmon was good, though flavors were a little muddy, and didn't add much to the excellent piece of fish. Wine rec from the waitress was exactly on target. Cocktail at the beginning (a vodka based mule) was ho-hum.
Very nice, good service, good food. Noice level was very high. Difficult to talk or hear
a good reliable place - rather noisy with tables close, but still a good place
We booked through OpenTable for Valentine’s Day for myself, my wife, and 9 year old son. When we sat down, we discovered that it was a special fixed menu deal for $75/person. We had no idea this was the case before booking. When we asked whether we could perhaps get some pasta with butter for our child, they guy was a bit of a jerk- completely oblivious to how it was unfair to blindside us with the fixed fee meal without prior notice. He essentially said, live with it. So we went through with the meal. The meal was fine. Worth $75 per person including for a 9 year old? Definitely not.
I do like going here overall but the quality of the food varies a great deal depending on what I order. This was not a great meal.
But often enough there is something really tasty (The killer Minestrone on a previous visit, the chicken Milanese on a previous visit). I love the lamb tenderloins at dinner (awesome) but the lunch version this day was disappointing (lettuce instead of couscous; doesn't hit the spot....and I miss the pistachios. If they don't feel like cooking the green beans at lunch then at least give us the couscous!!!!). I know there is some good cooking going on here in the kitchen....but I wish I could help design the menu once in a while!
Always lovely, ambiance, neighborhood, service, food. Not inexpensive but really nice
Three different main courses, all three excellent. Good food on this visit.
It was awesome food was just great
I love Garibaldi's but noticed this time that it was very noisy...too noisy...I had liked being there before because it was not too noisy - but this time - Friday night? - it was deafening....we couldn't hear ourselves talk.
This was our 2nd time at Garibaldi's for dinner. My wife had a great meal, our waiter was very good; and we had a great conversation with the table next to us. I would recommend Garibaldi's to everyone.
Had a very tasty meal with thoughtful and attentive staff. Lovely!
The food was delicious and it was a great value during Restaurant week. The mushroom risotto with truffle oil was divine.
The lamb salad is superb!
