Garibaldi's on Presidio
You cannot beat the chicken Milanese. Sooo good. Great local neighborhood restaurant, terrific atmosphere. Bartender Jenny is so great, accommodating.
Lovely staff and excellent service. Good food, but the experience is ruined by the deafening noise level
The waiter as attentive without hovering constantly. the portions were good and the dessert was good.
This place never disappoints. Great food, service, cocktails in a peaceful, sophisticated atmosphere. The menu changes often and always feels creative.
Had a friend’s birthday lunch there recently. The staff was terrific in every day. The food was terrific and the dessert sealed the deal. It is a favorite for many special occasions!
We have been going here for their lamb salad for years.we love it
Great neighborhood restaurant with a nice, inviting vibe and delicious food.
Everything was great! Appetizers were excellent and our server had a lot of helpful suggestions. Dinner was phenomenal as was dessert. The only bad thing I have to say, is that our coffee after dinner was barely lukewarm.
Food was mediocre. The restaurant was empty when we got there but they took us all the way back to the last table in the back room next to a drafty curtained area. When we asked to move they Resisted even though there were plenty of open tables and it was still early. Do Open table customers get the worst tables in the house? This is happened to us before at other restaurants with reservations made on OT .
Ambience was fine, service was less than average and the food I thought was mediocre and overpriced . We were looking forward to the chocolate budini tart at the end hoping that would save the meal but it was really just a chocolate mishmosh of stuff with some stale corn nuts thrown in.
I had been here years ago and thought I would give it another shot- but I won’t be going back.
Our waiter forgot to put in the main order so we waited an hour for our main meal and then just canceled it and left. Also the restaurant is very loud - they squeeze tables right next to each other.
Great neighborhood restaurant. It is a little pricey but worth it. Excellent food and very good service.
EXCELLENT FOOD ! Alcohol is VERY pricey - be aware and order accordingly. But omgosh the food is GREAT - our server was also wonderful. Took out of town friends and they, too, agreed - best food they had had on their entire two week trip thus far.
Garibaldi’s had always been our go-to restaurant in Pacific Heights throughout the 90’s so when a good friend had bought his first condo a few blocks away, it seemed appropriate we reconvene at a venue we all had fond memories of and the proper place to start off our friend’s new life.
Good: The food was delicious as usual. I loved my pork chop, the others enjoyed the lamb and the pasta.
Bad: The Service was so disappointing.
Four people asked if we had a reservation. This is a small restaurant. You’d think by the 2nd person they would have communicated something to each other.
We had an 8:30pm reservation. We were 4 older men who, as a group, were fit but obviously looked like we enjoyed food. That said, no one offered us bread and we were starving. We flagged down the bus service to fetch us bread.
Our waiter was inattentive when he removed all eating utensils from 2 seats. Meals were fully delivered and we still had to ask twice for silverware.
Having served the public in different jobs, we always tip well out of empathy. So on top of all of this, we were double-charged on our credit cards (so far, the count is 2 out of 5) and we are dealing with the inconvenience of straightening out this mess.
Unfortunately, this will go on record as my poor choice and a restaurant that used to be great so it will take some coaxing if we eat there again. Now let’s see if I can get through to someone to fix the double charge.
While we are admittedly picky if not fickle, we keep this restaurant on our list of of places we go back to. Something to be said for a restaurant that delivers a great experience over and over again....it is consistently great.
Garibaldi's has been a regular spot for us for years. It is solidly dependable -- comfortable, welcoming and delicious. The star of our most recent visit was also the simplest dish -- an heirloom tomato salad that was just perfect. I am glad the change in ownership hasn't hurt the quality or the ambiance. If anything (and it may be my imagination) the staff seems happier. We always love getting Carlos as our server. He is very efficient, knowledgeable and very sweet.
Excellent Halibut dish. Gnocchi appetizer was a favorite too. Varied wine selection but generally a bit overpriced. Definitely an enjoyable dining experience in a neighborhood setting.
Carpet was disgusting
Wine by the glass pours very skimpy and expensive. RESTAURANT MUCH TOO NOISY!!!!! Why don't they seat dining customers upstairs away from bar -- at least those who would like to converse over dinner? That section of the restaurant was closed off the two times we were there. Too bad -- because the food is excellent.
Variety of tasty dishes executed consistently at a high standard. Faro chicken & veggie salad a summer fav. Save room for the chocolate budino----share the small size.
enjoyed our evening at this great neighborhood gem!
The staff is attentive and the food expertly prepared.
Neighbourhood gem trusty and classic food!
Cramped not private in a dated decor. We got there late and the risotto portion was so small I ordered a second entre. The desserts were first class. Service was ok but I would say the place was cramped quarters.
Excellent, always. Super consistent good food, great service and ambiance!
Visited the restaurant for a business occassion. The appetizers and meal were fabulous. I will definitely visit again when i am in the area.
One of my favorite lunch spots! Great consistent menu choices. Be sure to have the Budino for desert...
Garibaldi's never disappoints -- wait staff efficient and very friendly
Love the seasonal menu! Great local feel!
Love that it’s nestled in such a charming neighborhood
The service is the reason we would no longer go back .
Gone downhill - waiter was a blow hard and the food was mediocre.
Love the restaurant. The food is fabulous. Great wine. Great service. This place is definitely become a regular for us.
Bad service okay food
We enjoyed the whole meal and that the waiters did not rush us... I had not seen my sister
in quite a while and we talked and enjoyed a wonderful meal
Decent food, if expensive. Service slow. Extremely noisy restaurant.
Great food as always. Friendly professional efficient staff.
Amazing food and great atmosphere!!
I love to go to Garibaldi's because it's always has great staff and a good spot to get good food and be able to hold lunch meetings. We had a horrible experience with waiters talking so loud to their guest we couldn't hear our conversation. We weren't the only guest disturbed by the male waiter who was yelling the questions to his tables. On top of the noise we waited for service for a long time. On this occasion the espresso machine was broken and the credit card machine. It seemed like everything was going wrong. I will have to see if they can regain their footing before returning. I choose specific spots for business lunches that I know will have great service, good food and an easy spot to communicate. Perhaps this spot is no longer as good as it once was?
Food was fine - but for no reason they did not credit me my 100 opentable points. Be careful when u eat here via open table
Excellent food and service!
The restaurant has been one of our favorite spots in SF. But this time it was way too noisy...over 90dBA average. We went early to avoid the noise levels. But by 7PM it got so loud that the folks we invited to dinner with us had to leave because it was too difficult to even carry on a conversation w/o shouting. BTW, 90dBA is nearly a factor of 4 greater than what OSHA recommends as a safe working level, let alone trying to relax.
In recent years, restaurants, especially those catering to a younger crowd, tend to design their spaces with hard, acoustically reflective surfaces. This, in turn, soon causes patrons to talk louder and louder. Some venues add music to the mix, which makes anything like intimate dining impossible. At some point, Garibaldi's is going to faced with a choice.
