I love Garibaldi’s. Wonderful neighborhood restaurant with great food and great service.
Always excellent neighborhood gem. Worth a trip across town for a meal.
Tasty! Haven’t been in a long time. Still excellent.
Wait person ‘hovered’ too much.
The food and service was outstanding. Excellent Mushroom Risotto and Chicken Milanese. Wonderful Next Door Sauv Blanc.
Garibaldi's is around the corner from work, great place to meet with friends for happy hour.
The milanese was wonderful, the brussels sprouts, and the Garibaldi salad are outstanding, cannot wait to go back, I am very glad that they are open for lunch!!!!
Great dinner like always. From the manhattans, Brussels, and chicken Milanese. Always my go to
What happened to the bread and olives that we’re always served before the entree. We have been going there for 10 years as neighborhood loyalists and we will continue but besides offering no bread, the portions of Milanese and arugula are much smaller. We want to support our local restaurants but we are disappointed in Girabaldis’s.
Nice spot for lunch or dinner. Good service; attentive & friendly staff.
Highly recommend. They stay current in a difficult Sf restaurant environment.
The filet mignon tartare and the cokctails were disappointing.
We got the tagliatelle and risotto for our mains and those were delicious.
excellent except for the noise---this might discourage me from returning
The server splashed soup onto my coat, quite a bit of soup in fact, as she flung our plates, diner style, onto our table. While cleaning my coat at the bar I was offered to speak with management.
Back at my table while speaking with management this server appeared between tables and began to argue with me: I shut her down.
Despite management's professed apologies, he and she made display of their fealty by joking and laughing as they passed our table in this near empty restaurant.
We later observed her setting places while holding forks by their tines and spoonsby their bowels. She was and is an ill mannered pig: I called her so.
A new manager with alcohol on her breath (in midday appeared). I spoke with her and left after she defended her employee'spublic health violation.
Oh, did I mention that a diminutive male server out of misplaced chivalry pushed his elbow into my chest. He was tiny, but challenging: "What are you going to do about it?" Well, he was tiny. I told him as he was guilty of battery, if anything I'd call the police.
Eat elsewhere. This place is where miscreants roam free and the management is sauced.
Management even defended her handling silverware by the tines and bowls (spoons). COVID and other nastiness anyone?
We love Garibaldis however the service was not great this past visit. Kinda bummed as that is typically not the case and had taken friends here for the first time. Was a bit embarrassed.
Decent but not great food. Caesar salad was very disappointing
Always a big fan, however, on this particular night, our server was less than charming. The food was, always, delicious.
Arrive around 6pm if you want to have a quiet conversation. Gets much more lively around 7pm, but great atmosphere at either time.
Really a neighborhood gem! The quality of the food is outstanding. Best Chicken Milanese.
Wonderful cocktails too with a fun vibe
I was a little disappointed with Garibaldi's this time. I have always loved the lamb tenderloin but this time it wasn't as delicious as I remember it being. Also the couscous that is served underneath the lamb was not as flavorful as it used to be. I was disappointed.
The majority of the dishes (six guests ordering) were bland or over salted.
Will not return as this is the third time we've tried Garibaldi's only to be disappointed.
Love this neighborhood spot! Extra bonus with the prix fix menu for SF Restaurant Week. Everything was delicious and our waiter was outstanding.
The service was good but the Host was both unfriendly and non-couteous. Bad way to welcome guests. We are long time customers
Wonderful staff, delicious food and great atmosphere. Fabulous neighborhood feeling with first class menu choices. Will definitely go back again soon!
We have been going to Garibaldi’s since 1992. We have celebrated birthdays and anniversaries and even gotten engaged there. But this evening’s experience there was epically bad. The noise level was off the charts, the food mediocre, and the service terrible. We made a notation in the remarks that we were celebrating a 60th birthday that evening and there was no acknowledgment whatsoever from the management or the staff. Having been such loyal customers, and with so many other options available to us, I’m sad to say that we will not be returning because they missed the mark so badly on so many levels.
Just what we were looking for. Birthday celebration with 6 adults. Food was good, drinks outstanding and service excellent.
Garibaldi's has an amazing menu--the food and cocktails are incredibly well crafted and served. The problem was with the ambiance and service. I think every seat was taken in the restaurant which speaks well for the aforementioned comments--the food was amazing! The challenge was that the tables were too close together--if you want an intimate conversation with someone special, it's not possible here. If you want to engage your neighbors in conversation, then this is the place to go.
I felt a bit sorry for our waitperson who seemed quite competent, however, she was also covering more tables than necessary so she forgot things like placing the order for our second cocktail and that we had asked for bread earlier on. Suggest more waitstaff to help with the obviously successful restaurant that Garibaldi's already is.
The food will definitely bring us back; we hope they work on the service levels and maybe remove a couple table to provide a bit more space between the tables. All in all, a good experience--could have been extraordinary though...
Food was delicious as always. Our waiter was lovely as very personable. The only issue was timing. I'm not sure what the delay was, but it was over 45 minutes between delivery of our appetizer and entrée. Our waiter was apologetic and topped off our wine glasses which was much appreciated. Luckily we had time to spare before our show at The Masonic.
We love this neighborhood gem but were dissapointed by the New Years eve menu. While the food was delicious, the menu was reminiscent of an old NY hotel restaurant. Stunned to not even see the signature chicken milanese on the menu -- they could have served just that dish! Staff, as always, friendly and efficient. Hoping for a better selection NYE 2020
Sat in the back dining area. 15 diners on my side of the room (I was a party of 2). A table of 10 were seated on the opposite side of room and were the rudest LOUSEST group of diners that I hope to never experience again. My ears were ringing when I left, as if I had been speaker side of a rock concert! Manger was called over and did nothing! I hope the owner reads this because there should be a noise policy in writing to get diners to comply with dining manners. In addition, one women at that was using her turned down fork, left hand to eat European style, I guess to be cool, but kept her right hand in her lap. European style is that both hands remain on the table. Go back and practice in the mirror, girl!
This would have been a series of 5's, except that the noise level was unbearable. Multiple attempts were made to get waiters and also the manager to address this with the large table of young guests in the corner, who were the source of the problem. It never subsided, or even reduced. A number of other guests were also complaining to waiters and management. Much as we loved the food, we probably won't go back.
I was disappointed. The ambiance was nice upon walking in and remained nice. However, the restroom was dirty and frankly disgusting and deteriorated. The food was mediocre. every dish I had. The servings were large - if not too large but my food was bland and of low to average quality. The service was efficient, not at all rude, unobtrusive, but also cold. There was no pressure to leave, and the seating was comfortable. Ultimately the price was on the high side - $340 for four people - and the quality of the food did not match it. The food and the horrible restroom were the biggest disappointments.
My guests had a tough time finding something they wanted on the menu. I thought that the selection was very limited. That being said, the service is what made the evening less that enjoyable. The server made it seem like we were not up to his standards. He kept filling our wine glasses when they were not empty and then there was no follow up on the meal. We felt ignored.
Was a great experience. Went for Christmas dinner and the food was so good, ambiance was perfect. Surprised I haven’t heard of this restaurant more, will come back again!
a very reliable neighborhood favorite. Food is always good!
We love it here. We always have the fabulous lamb salad. The staff are wonderful and feel like family.
This is an outstanding restaurant. We experienced great service, beautifully crafted and presented delicious food, and a beautiful ambience. Highly recommended!
We had to send the risotto rolls back to the kitchen to e reheated and the waitress rushed us to pick our dessert
Birthday dinner for my husband
