Garibaldi's on Presidio
Garibaldi's never disappoints -- wait staff efficient and very friendly
Love the seasonal menu! Great local feel!
Love that it’s nestled in such a charming neighborhood
The service is the reason we would no longer go back .
Gone downhill - waiter was a blow hard and the food was mediocre.
Love the restaurant. The food is fabulous. Great wine. Great service. This place is definitely become a regular for us.
Bad service okay food
We enjoyed the whole meal and that the waiters did not rush us... I had not seen my sister
in quite a while and we talked and enjoyed a wonderful meal
Decent food, if expensive. Service slow. Extremely noisy restaurant.
Great food as always. Friendly professional efficient staff.
Amazing food and great atmosphere!!
I love to go to Garibaldi's because it's always has great staff and a good spot to get good food and be able to hold lunch meetings. We had a horrible experience with waiters talking so loud to their guest we couldn't hear our conversation. We weren't the only guest disturbed by the male waiter who was yelling the questions to his tables. On top of the noise we waited for service for a long time. On this occasion the espresso machine was broken and the credit card machine. It seemed like everything was going wrong. I will have to see if they can regain their footing before returning. I choose specific spots for business lunches that I know will have great service, good food and an easy spot to communicate. Perhaps this spot is no longer as good as it once was?
Food was fine - but for no reason they did not credit me my 100 opentable points. Be careful when u eat here via open table
Excellent food and service!
The restaurant has been one of our favorite spots in SF. But this time it was way too noisy...over 90dBA average. We went early to avoid the noise levels. But by 7PM it got so loud that the folks we invited to dinner with us had to leave because it was too difficult to even carry on a conversation w/o shouting. BTW, 90dBA is nearly a factor of 4 greater than what OSHA recommends as a safe working level, let alone trying to relax.
In recent years, restaurants, especially those catering to a younger crowd, tend to design their spaces with hard, acoustically reflective surfaces. This, in turn, soon causes patrons to talk louder and louder. Some venues add music to the mix, which makes anything like intimate dining impossible. At some point, Garibaldi's is going to faced with a choice.
Worst dining experience ever in San Francisco and I’ll never go back. The service was horrible. Cocktail glasses left on the table for 45 minutes. Zero attention to dining experience. Others arriving well after we sat down were served entrees and we were still sitting in front of appetizer plates. Waited one hour for entrees to arrive which never happened. I’ve been to Garibaldis dozens of times. But NEVER, EVER AGAIN.
I paid the entire bill including 20% tip for food that wasn’t served and walked out.
Nice atmosphere, mediocre food at best. They were aware we were celebrating a birthday-yet no effort was made to offer complimentary dessert to the birthday girl. I called in advance to inquire as to dairy-free selections, was told a note was made for the server to offer but this did not happen. Like the convenience of the location but will consider other places next time. Disappointing visit overall.
Always delicious !
Great seasonal crafted dishes
Attentive wait staff
On my must visit list when vacationing in SF
Service friendly and welcoming. Food was pretty good. Appetizers particularly tasty (arancini and brussel sprouts!). Chicken Milanese also a must. My salmon was undercooked and I should have sent it back for another minute or two - maybe that's just a subjective thing.
Really delicious lunch and it is very quiet, so a perfect place to discuss business.
Food was very good ;)
The restaurant is quite loud which is why we don’t go often ..,but the food great 👍🏼 very busy which is good news too ;)
If a diner orders and entree that includes salad, the server should inform the diner so that the diner doesn't order a salad in addition to the entree.
We were not offered coffee refill, even though it wasn't crowded.
The disability elevator is so ugly. A talented interior designer should be able to disguise it in a pleasing way.
This is my fourth time eating at Garibaldis. The food was scrumptious, the environment visually pleasing, the noise level low.
I will return again and will also recommend it to others!
I requested a nice table for our annivesay and was seated squuzed between two table. Moved and ended sitting near the kitchen im. Cramprd space. Also clientelle is very conservative. Boring vibe
GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD SPOT WITH FABULOUS FOOD...always good
Garibaldis never disappoints!! Exceptional food, service and ambiance for about 20 years for us. We took our family guests this past Friday, dined for 2.5 hours and promised them we would make a reservation for the next visit. Thank you Garibaldis team.
A nice and neighborhoody (if your neighborhood is Presidio Heights) spot. The food was overall good with a few things that were amazing. The chicken was so good it made the ribeye seem mediocre in comparison. I agree with the other reviewers about the noise - it was painful in the front room. The back room seemed quieter and where the families with kids were seated. I would go back but would try a night earlier in the week when the atmosphere is hopefully more enjoyable.
Awesome food and staff. Food and drinks always on point. I have eaten there both lunch and dinner
Food pretty good. Especially appetizers. Short ribs fatty, needed more cook time to render out fat but polenta good.
Mushroom risotto was more like mushroom gruel.
Also, they need some sound baffles.. it's incredibly loud and grating when full.
Nice ambiance & nice food presentation.
Food is just ok. Noisy & a little cramped.
Can’t wait to visit again and again! Love that there are seasonal menu items ever changing throughout the year!
Always a treat to dine at Garibaldi's. Wonderful Caesar, beet salad, fried calamari, lamb tenderloin, risotto, and save room for the chocolate budino!
This is a restaurant that you can depend on, the food is fresh, high quality & interesting. Nice price range, I appreciate that. Good mixed drinks, wine.
Lovely and welcoming neighborhood restaurant. Perfect for the occasion of meeting with out of town friends. Handsome and flattering atmosphere. I felt it gave off a very City vibe that was at once sophisticated and cozy comfortable. Would definitely go again. If I lived in the neighborhood I'd be here once a week at least.
On the advice of a friend we stopped at Garibaldi's for dinner on the way to the airport. It's a small, neighborhood kind of place, nice bar, very quiet. Wine list is ok, my wife had a cocktail which she liked and I had a glass of nebbiolo which was ok. For dinner we had a half bottle of Vacqueyras which was very nice, I really like that they had 1/2 bottles wish more restaurants did. For starters my wife had the gnocchi, which she liked, I had the soup, broccoli cheddar, which was ok, not great. For entrees she had the mussels which were really good, great broth and I had the short rib which was disappointing. The rib was fatty, all of the fat and collagen had not been rendered off, it had the taste of cinnamon in the sauce and the rib which I didn't enjoy at all. The rib was put on a bed of of lumpy polenta which was an afterthought to me. If the polenta had been nice and creamy it might have saved the dish, as it was, I ate a bite or two of the polenta and left it. Love the atmosphere, wish the food was better.
Been here several times. Great service, and delicious food! Shared the salmon, patas bravas and asparagus starters - all were invitingly presented, and tasted out of this world. The Perfect, Perfect Manhattan was...perfect. The lamb I'll come back for...again and again. Just amazing how Garibaldi's unfailingly keeps up their quality standard over the years.
neighborhood restaurant with excellent food. Nice setting, table cloths---good service. Bar Tender, Jenny, is outstanding and makes a mean drink --all the way to the top --so no half filled martini glasses---reasonable to at about $14--nice beer, cocktails and bar good for much less between 5-6pm. Go--the dinner menu is very good and consistent.
We had requested a quite table, but certainly didn't get one. Restaurant was dreadfully noisy! In addition, our table for two was veeeery long and skinny and my wife and I simply could not hear each other. (We are not deaf!) Food was excellent, however. We just can not recommend it because of the unpleasant din.
Great value and great neighborhood restaurant. Not too big to be noisy and overwhelming with people. Good ambiance.
Great ecletic menu. Food was awesome. Wine selection great if you want to buy full bottles. Romantic ambiance unless you are sitting next to someone who is loud, you can hear the whole conversation. Was not impressed by our male waiter...snarky and snapped at us at one point. Unpleasant attitude.
