Way too loud!!!!!
Fairly knowledgable waiter regarding wine selections. Offered us a taste before we each decided on a glass. Brussel Sprout small plate very good. Their specialty chicken was nicely done. Nice ambiance for a neighborhood style place. Had a good time & enjoyed our food & wine.
Garibaldi's ice cream is always a great treat. Delicious.
The cook/owner was so cheap he refused to provide a cookie with ice cream dessert for my 90 year old mother on a $300+ dinner. Beef Stew was horrible. Really?
Chicken Parm was great. The rest of food forgettable, especially in the city that offers some of them best Italian food outside Italy. Service was so bad. The food runner was amazing. Our server hated the fact he had to work that day. He was so out of it. We wont go back
It’s loud & expensive. The maitre’d & the waiter tried hard but something must have been off with the kitchen. The tuna crudo was mushy & the risotto balls were cold. The chicken milanese however was great as were the Negronis.
Service always a bit spotty (depends on who you get). Albeit we went on a busy night but disappointed I'd relayed to both the host and server that it was my son's birthday that day and they didn't even bring out a candle to wish him a happy birthday. It's the little things that matter, especially for a neighborhood spot.
Food here usually always solid....main reason why I'm a repeat offender here.
We were greeted warmly and discovered that there was a special prix fixe menu for $30. It turned out to be a very good deal. We each enjoyed an appetizer, a tasty chicken Milanese, and a dessert. Everything was delicious. My only complaint was that it took awhile to get our glasses refilled. Otherwise, the service was great.
Great neighborhood spot. Comfortable and good food
There lamb dish, usually my favorite and so succulent, was over-cooked.
Had a nice meal with great service. Will be back soon.
Our go to place, for great food and service! Never fails. Best chicken Milenese ever
Neighborhood gem. We’ve been going for years and it never disappoints.
The September special menu was a good value, and the food options offered were delicious. Waiter/server (Ben) was courteous, friendly and professional considering the busy atmosphere of the restaurant due to the special menu.
It was our 21st wedding anniversary and they were so sweet ( literally ) treating us to dessert and after dinner champagne. The zucchini fritters and risotto were delicious. Great wine and as always, amazing service. Our long time fav restaurant in SF.
Wait service was very friendly and good. Garibaldi's salad was disappointing all salad leaves and walnuts no stone fruit. Not as good as in the past.
Always a treat to eat at Garibaldi’s!
Love garibaldis! The food is always delicious and fantastic wine list- including wines by the glass. A long time favorite with a very pleasant neighborhood feel with local clientele. The budino is my all time favorite dessert.
As much as I enjoyed the space and company, our food/service was meh... 1st the zucchini appetizer dish- I specifically asked if the dish was more like a pancake or fries. The server said “it’s fried.” I clarified “but are they like fries or like pancakes?” He looked at me sideways and with a curious tone said “FRIES!” Ok great, we’ll take that and the calamari to start. Along with some wine and an old fashioned. Old fashioned took 15 minutes- wine was on point and fine.
Appies came out. There were two small pancake size fried zucchini cakes in an avo-cuke sauce and some buried calamari under butter beans. Had I known there were 2 zucchini cakes, I wouldn’t have ordered for 3 people. I was confused by what the server must have heard me ask about fries. The flavor was fine not great. It lacked texture and the sauce was more herby and not at all savory. Had to add salt. The beans were the star on the calamari dish. We knew it would be cut not fried, but didn’t expect the pieces to be so small, 90% tentacles and heavily beaned. Not worth the expense. We ate and finished our drinks and no server check in. Still hadn’t put in our main entree orders. When the table assistant came by to clear our empty appetizer plates, we had to ask her to send him over.
The mains: shaking beef filet (very small and my friend liked it “just ok” but felt hungry still); local halibut (overcooked- she ate 1/2 the plate); and smoked barbecue beef rib with baked beans (large looking portion but with a lot of inedible fat and very dry- wasn’t impressed and sent it over the table to my hungry friend. I ate more beans). The good- the Garibaldi’s salad was delicious! Could have gone elsewhere if I just wanted beans and salad- so disappointing!
In fairness, I could have asked to speak to a manager but it just seemed like a lot of effort. I might give it one more try, but only if my favorite restaurants are full.
Reataurant celebrating 30th anniversary with a $30 full dinner. Portions were large and food was delicious! Summer squash risotto was outstanding, chicken milanese too large to finish. But what made our night was our server, Dina. Will be back and will ask to be served by her again.
It was our first time and we invited close friends for dinner. Overall, it was a very enjoyable evening.
We would have preferred a table at the lower end of the restaurant. We just found the wines a little on the expensive side.
Their chicken marsala is one of the best chicken dishes In the city. Sit in the back if you want to talk to your dining companions. Ray H
Our favorite neighborhood restaurant. Always delicious!
the tomato salad was excellent; but my halibut was of mediocre quality; the wines by glass were overpriced
Lamb salad was beyond fabulous. Bring back green beans, pistachios and currants
Wonderful neighborhood escape.
Soup and squid were spot on...friend was disappointed with the mussels...which appeared to be over cooked and a bit shriveled...but fussy about his mussels.
I was ready for the warm butter lemon cake before I arrived at the restaurant.
Other than the mussels...👍👍🏻👍🏼👍🏽👍🏾
always reliably good! The grilled cheese is one of the best I've ever had!
Garibaldi’s is always an excellent choice. We were celebrating my daughter in law’s birthday with family and had a wonderful time. The food was as delicious as always. Our server was extremely accommodating and gracious.
Our family loves everything at Garibaldi’s. We live the round table near the end of the bar. We especially enjoyed our visit with the Chef near the end of our meal. He was very informative and gave us a peek at his cutlery. Thanks for another wonderful dining experience. Vicki Robinson and family
Service people were very nice but took a while, drinks came not as ordered.. it was overall, ok.
A little noisy for our liking, but we were seated in the bar area. To be fair, we had not requested a quiet table. Next time we definitely will.
Waiter suggested wine without revealing price. Shocking.
Garibaldi's is a truly fantastic restaurant!
Excellent food! Great staff!
A San Francisco gem, for sure!
Great location, excellent service.
I have gone to Garibaldi often over many years. One of my favorite neighborhood restaurants. The food is consistently good- until dinner a couple days ago. We ordered the fried calamari to share as a 1st course. I’ve had that dish many times. But this time- I think there were maybe 4-5 extremely tiny pieces of the calamari- so small they looked like broken bits. They were smothered with so many beans the dish should have just been a bean dish. Very disappointing- and unlike what is normally served. I was going to say something but chose not to put a crimp in the evening. The rest of the meal was fine.
Been here a thousand times. Our neighborhood gem.
Everything was delightful, as always!
Chicken Milanese! A delicious dish. The rest of the menu looks good too, but I keep ordering Chicken Milanese.
Great ambience service and food. Cozy and small place very intimate
Love this place!
