   The closest thing to a quaint New York restaurant experience you’ll find in San Francisco. Charming, classic and all about the food and cocktails. The service is understated and attentive, and everyone seems happy to be there. It’s a neighborhood joint but also worth the trip wherever you live. Nothing fussy, just great classic dishes but elevated. Love this place!

   The food was delicious, One persons soup had to be sent back because it was cold but it was brought back quickly and hot. Everyone was please with the food and the service was attentive.

   Horribly slow and inattentive service. Our “server” NEVER came to our table to check on us. Once she took our order, she was gone until she brought the check. We would like to have ordered desert but simply ran out of time. A table of 4 which arrived after us got their appetizers and entrees before us even though we ordered before them. The pork lasagne and chicken Milanese were off the chart…delicious but we don’t think we could suffer the glacier like slow service again.

    The hostess, bartender and wait staff were all great but were understaffed as most places are right now. Way too many patrons per staff members to have service run smoothly. The food was just ok - nothing to write home about. The best thing about our dinner was the Caesar salad. My vodka penne was uninspired and for $28 sadly lacking. My friends Cod dish was so small it was sad - also for around the same price. My husband had the chicken Milanese and he said it was good and a generous serving. Dessert was disappointing. Probably won’t be back since there are so many other restaurants that offer a better experience in this price range.

    Garibaldi's is a priceless neighborhood restaurant that has a good bar and a tasty, altho somewhat limited menu, but with enough diversity to please everyone. This is a favorite of Pacific Heights mavens. Good choice, always.

    We've been coming here for 30 years. The food is consistently good. The service in the last couple visits has been extremely slow. There was a 40 minute lag between or appetizers and our dinner. We really enjoy a leisurely dinner but leaving our 6:30 reservation at 9 PM on a weeknight is more of a commitment than this place is worth.

    Really good dining experience. One of the few old-school San Francisco establishments left still serving up a great menu, delicious food, warm neighborhood ambiance, and quality service. Takes you back to less hectic time in SF. BRAVO.

    Reservation was for 7:30. The hostess had to come ask us what we wanted to drink as our server never came to the table to greet us after 10min. When he did arrive he asked us if we were ready to order. No "welcome", "is this your first time?", "any questions on the menu?", etc. It was so loud I couldn't hear my boyfriend sitting across from me. Our appetizers came but still no bread. We had to ask the food runner for it. Food needed salt but otherwise alright.

    Make reservations well in advance for this Pacific Heights neighborhood favorite that offers a limited but very respectable menu, great bar and wine list, and a cheerful, friendly and congenial setting. It has been a landmark for years and with good reason. A top choice.

    Garibaldi’s continues to bring new items to their menu. The lasagna and the pork chop are terrific, out of many outstanding dishes. The cannelloni, no longer on the menu, were fantastic. The staff continues to strive to please.

    I had the best dinner with my husband last night. Everyone was so friendly. They were checking-in on us to make sure everything was good. That’s great service! Food all tasted so delicious. The ambiance was nice and when we were there it was quiet. I’ll be coming around again soon.

    Garibaldi’s has fully recovered from Covid doldrums. Menu changes are frequent and interesting. Staff is trying hard to make everyone feel comfortable and have a great meal. Cannelloni we’re out of this world! Definitely going back.

    Overall we had a good experience but would not come back. We had the scallop crudo (very good), G Salad (good but needed a bit ore acidity), Chicken Milanesa (very good), Marinated Lamb Tenderloins (good) and the New York Steak (good). For deserts we had the the Budino which turned out a flourless chocolate cake and not the pudding-like desert that you would expect. When we pointed that out we were told that this is what they serve as a Budino - not cool! The waitress was pretty much absent during our meal - we had to use our bread plates to share the appetizer/salad.
