I always enjoy eating here, when we are staying here. The only negative was that there was a noticeable cold breeze coming through the closed patio doors. We had to move tables and the people seated there after us, also moved tables for the same reason. The weather stripping on the doors needs to be replaced.

Disappointing overall, not nearly worth our $200 tab (with tip.) Server Dana was very good, attentive and pleasant. But while my salmon was ok, my wife's scallops were a bit rubbery and over cooked. And for the fist time ever, the bananas in our bananas foster were undercooked, and in a sauce that seemed free of butter or brown sugar. Finally it was a real ambience letdown. Nice room in a nice traditional building, but all the hanging ceiling lights were on their brightest setting, the small bar was brightly lit with a bright TV going, and the over-bright hotel reception area was fully visible from every table. The nice fireplace glow was completely wasted.

It was pleasant. Our cocktails were great. Our server was very sweet and attentive. The timing was off. The wine list was a little sad. Food was the most disappointing part. Enjoyed the appetizers (Brussel sprouts and smoked salmon). The roasted beat salad was not really a salad, just kind of a mess. The risotto was tasty, but the short ribs were more like a roast. The fried egg thing can be over done. A couple of other dishes were kinda meh. $$ masquerading as $$$ Hope this helps.

Jessica was our server and she was excellent, especially because she had quite a few large tables. We went in specifically for the prefix but found out the halibut never showed up. So she talked to the chef and he had the steak available so we decided to get the prefix dinner with the steak. my husband had French onion soup, which was excellent and I had a different type of vegetable mix. We both had the steak that came with mashed potatoes and some veggies. For dessert we both had the berry cobbler with ice cream. Yum Yum. He had the wine pairing and they were very good choices. I had two old fashions. On the expensive side but we don’t do it too often.

I would not recommend this as a quality restaurant, was very disappointed since it was our anniversary. We spent $190 and didnt receive food that we could finish. I live local and would choose another restaurant, which there are several, where the food leaves a memory and not a bad choice.

Awesome experience! We dined here last year as well and had an equally awesome experience. The fried Morro Bay Oyster Mushrooms were large and meaty and served with a mildly spicy sauce as were the wonderful shrimp croquettes. We shared a ribeye with au gratin potatoes and asparagus. Our server, Zoey was AMAZING! She was single-handedly caring for seven tables and handled it all with aplomb! The Gardens of Avila has trained her well and are lucky to have her!

The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We ate outside to enjoy the serene atmosphere. The service was amazing as well. It was a nice way to end our soak at the soak tubs.

Quiet Monday night the big restaurant dining room closed the two ladies serving were great (she was the server and the bar tender) new staff shadowing. Brussel sprouts were good Just a lot need smaller tasting portions the grilled peach arugula Barrata salad had zero taste and I couldn’t eat it. The pork chop was delicious served on creamy polenta - weird that it also has potatoes would’ve been better with veggies. Husband had garden salad yummy and shrimp pasta also good Disappointing that manager stopped to listen to reviews on salad and he said yes the chef is changing the fruit tomorrow. Did not offer to take it Off The bill.

Appetizers were good (brussel sprouts and mushrooms), Southern fried chicken entree had a nice Cajun spice added that gave it a really nice flavor. The chocolate cheesecake for dessert should be illegal it tasted so good!

Very nice atmosphere and service. However, the food was OK. My most severe criticism of the food was the Fried Oyster Mushroom appetizer. I love mushrooms and these oysters are very tender. The breading was so thick, as if it was fried chicken. Why not use a Tempura type batter for a delicate item? Dick DeMark

I ordered a flatbread that arrived burnt. Not just a bit overcooked but cremated. They did make me another but I can’t believe they even gave it to me like that! My husbands veggies were raw, not just lightly cooked but raw. I think they were having an off night, last year service and food were great. It was our anniversary dinner and such a disappointment. We won’t be back next year :(

The ambiance is always amazing there. The waitress was amazing and attentive. It was my birthday and they gave me a dessert on the house. The food is ALWAYS amazing and that is why we go there. It is pricey, but you get what you pay for. Haven't had a bad meal or service ever.

Everything was impeccable! However, we sat outside in the back and the misquotes were horrible. I totally got chewed up. Perhaps you could add a bug zapper back there or something. Thank you

Quiet, scenic restaurant. Patio is under a canopy of beautiful mature trees. Because of this, you may have some natural debris show up. Food was well made and tasted great.

Where to begin, 20min wait to be greeted. We were seated on the patio. The table cloth was dirty and the table was off centered and wobble through out the meal. From the reviews I had expected fresh creative dishes. Not the case! If you like frozen microwave reheated food this is the place for you! There is lots more to add, but I think you get my point. They serve the entrée, but forgot the salads. What was served was worse than his Swanson frozen dinner. Ouch! I had to talk to the manager if I wanted them to remove the disgusting items off my bill. lesson learned as I paid for the full bill! There so many better dining options in town, this is not one of them!!!

Food was very good and arrived quickly. The service is always excellent and very courteous. We like the white table cloths and fireplace which give the restaurant a warm and welcoming ambience. The wine selection is excellent and reasonably priced. We would like to see a little more variation in the menu selections but the dishes are always well presented and tasty. My favorite is the grilled Salmon which is always good. We miss the no-corkage on local wines. Perhaps they should reintroduce a reduced corkage for wines from the region.
