When we arrived to the restaurant, we felt special as we were warmly greeted and seated at the table specially prepared for us. It had a “reserved” sign and was located in the most picturesque spot of the restaurant. The servers remembered we were celebrating a birthday and made an effort to greet the guest of honor. It was a very nice feeling to felt known although it was our first time at the restaurant. Food was from fresh ingredients and prepared with care. Good quality food on top of a lovely experience. Thank you!
We just stayed here for my 50th birthday and had an amazing, relaxing weekend. The appetizers, cocktails and dinner was so incredible, we raved about it the entire weekend. Everyone who works at this resort was very nice and helpful, can't wait to come again! Thank you
We were celebrating our 40th anniversary at The Sycamore Inn. The grounds were stunning; our room fantastic. Our anniversary meal was the very best. Food was delicious and the service was exceptional. Our waiter, Mason, was superb. Thank you for making our 4oth something to remember.
Been here four times before and loved it. It’s been two years since my last visit and something has changed. The food was mediocre, particularly for the price, the wine list needed updating since they were out of the wine we ordered and everything seemed disorganized. I cannot recommend it any longer.
It was excellent and our server was the best; she was attentive , gave us her opinion when asked, and was one of the best I have ever had. Unfortunately, I cannot remember her name.
We enjoyed our evening very much. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was pleasant. The server made an initial visit to the table and talked with one of our (four) party. The rest of us were away from the table. We then waited 20 minutes for a second visit to hear about the specials and get our questions answered. Good service after that.
Food was delicious and the service was friendly! Amazing spot.
Our group was able to try all of items offered on the restaurant menu and all were great with good portions and very tasty: walnut pate with goat cheese, pork belly tacos, , kale salad, beet and citrus salad, chicken, salmon, cheese cake, chocolate mouse cake,.
The wine pairing was good.
For us it was a great way to revisit Gardens of Avila. We are looking forward to going back.
After several days on a road trip, we didn't want to venture out to dinner - so opted for the restaurant at Sycamore Springs. We were thrilled! Great ambience and service, delicious meals and generous portions. Great wine too. Glad we stayed.
Brooke (or Brookie) and Ivy were great. Loved the food. Veggie Burger was a little bland but loved everything else and if you bring a bottle of local wine there is no corkage fee.
Ambiance was romantic. Service was not what it should be. Food was very good. Servers should be better trained!
The restaurant was okay. The food was great, but had a lot of kids at the table next to us crying and screaming. Didn’t mind it too much but it was distracting myself and my date. Everything was dark in the restaurant and not a nice ambience more of a nap time lighting. You couldn’t see anything outside the windows, which surrounds the room, so a better view would have been nice.
We were staying at Sycamore Mineral Springs and did not want to leave the premises. Great restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Food was very good and service was excellent
Great service and atmosphere. Fabulous food and the fact that the hot springs is on location make it the perfect veneue.
Good variety of food choices, including some vegetarian and vegan dishes. Wondrful servic from our witer Kelly, even when we dent something back forabit more cooking! Beautiful dining room, lovely views of outside during daylight hours.
The food was absolutely delicious and the service was very very good.
Staying at this resort for the weekend. Food quality was mediocre at best, unfortunately.
Friendly welcome and very attentive service. One of the cod specials was good but the fish was tough/over cooked on the other.
Redtaurant was being used for a special event. We were sat in the bar area.😒
Over priced and nothing special. The service was laconic and not particlularly friendly or responsive.
Nice, quiet restaurant perfect for unwinding after a day at the beach. My wife ordered a pasta dish saying it was the best pasta she's ever had. Service was personable and professional. Highly recommend Gardens of Avila restaurant
Very attentive personable staff, restaurant was quiet and cozy. Easy to have a nice relaxing time. Kale salad was excellent, would definitely come again. Only downfall is they forgot to tell Open Table we honored our reservation. Otherwise, a wonderful evening, great restaurant.
Amazing, as always. Thank you. Also, our server deserves a raise. I forget his name but he served us outside both times we came here and was fantastic. Long beard. Super nice. We'll definitely be back.
Wonderful meal for a family in town celebrating the college student's move-in weekend.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Oood menu options for kids upon request.
We ate there 3 times as we were staying in hotel. I think they really could expand their menu some, it got a little old. We did enjoy their martinis & mojitos though
An all-around amazing experience. The Gardens at Avila always delivers. Beautiful cuisine, with perfectly balanced flavors. Creative menu options, and the staff is so friendly and on-top of their game.
Very Romantic Ambiance with great options for both indoor and outdoor dining.
What a surprise! The food was absolutely delicious. Smoky bacon around goat cheese filled dates, yam tostadas with avocado and a crisp spicy salsa verde, Myer lemon ricotta ravioli......wish I could have ordered more.
We were out on the patio and it was delightful! All of the food had wonderful tastes. One of our friends is a chef and he was impressed with the flavors.
Fabulous experience. Great food. Super service. I would definitely recommend the facility.
My wife and I made reservation for 7:30 on a Saturday night. We had reservations at the private hot tubs on property and figured that dinner at the gardens would be convenient, which it was. The ambiance of the restaurant was great and it offered the romantic setting we were looking for. The menu was broad and had more than enough selections for our taste. Our entrees were fantastic! My wife had the short ribs and I had the salmon. I would recommend either one. They were well seasoned and incredibly flavorful. For dessert we had the Pavlova. A traditional New Zealand dessert. The dessert is made with whipped egg whites, like meringue, and fresh fruit. The appeal of a Pavlova is its light fluffy texture. A traditional Pavlova is 4 to 6 inches high covered in fresh fruit. Although tasty, this was no Pavlova. I lived in New Zealand for several years and was really looking forward to the desert. I was disappointed. It was nothing more that a 1 inch thick layer of meringue covered I fruit. That is our only criticism of the restaurant. We will definitely be back. And will probably order the wrongly named meringue again.
Wonderful food and service!
fish & chips off the charts, and we are snobs. service so friendly I still remember it. could use a few more vegetarian/health food options (was surprised to find hearty fare, but nicely surprised). great cocktail choices. gluten -free mule served perfectly chilled.
The meal was absolutely delicious. As a local I feel like there is not as much talk about this restaurant compared to other local faves but for sure this is one of the best meals we have had out in a long time. The strawberry pistachio pavlova, although I'm sure this is seasonal, was to AMAZING! It was our first date night after having our baby and everything about it was perfect. The live music, the food, the service. Definitely check this place out.
Came for spa treatments and dinner for our anniversary I'd highly recommend going somewhere else for dinner. Risotto was flavorless glue-like consistency and they seem to be afraid of seasoning their food. Bland mushy food, underwhelming environment and prices like it's fine dining. Also even tho I'd mentioned it was our anniversary making the reservation, there was no acknowledgement whatsoever. Our waiter was nice tho.
Love this place. Wonderful people and food. One of our go to's!
Had the salmon and the stake so good and everything cooked to perfection!!!! The bacon wrapped dates were amazing too. We wanted to try everything on the menu until we popped, hard to have self control! Well worth the drive to do it all again!
On separate occasions have had both the scallops and salmon, which were both delicious. Highly recommend the Lavender Old Fashioned, a fresh new take on an old drink.
Wonderful dinners and nice service are consistent here. We loved the quiet ambiance which provided a perfect setting for nice conversation. Variety of offerings and portion size were both appropriate. We were surprised by the small crowd as this spot is truly under appreciated. I will not hesitate to revisit the bar, the restaurant, the spa, and the hotel.
