The food was delicious and generous, we came for breakfast (not the buffet). The Court was beautiful as it was illuminated by the sun. If you want a fancy breakfast while on vacation in an historic hotel restaurant, do this place!

Quiet and elegant space for a business lunch. Dishes were well-prepared and used fresh, unusual ingredients. A special treat to be in this historic hotel.

Was seated in a most undesirable portion of the restaurant, although there were many open tables. Was seated without menus. Waiter acknowledged our presents a full 10 minutes after being seated. Wanted to take our order, but we told him we needed menus first. After we ordered beverages and waited another 10 minutes, he returned to tell us one of the drinks we ordered from the menu, was not available, so we re-ordered. We waited another 10 minutes for delivery of the beverages. One of the orders was completely wrong, and was sent back. This was a birthday celebration, which was put in the reservation, and was never mentioned by the hostess or the serving staff. Overall a very negative experience, and very expensive for poor service and mediocre food at best. Not recommended.

I was expecting the grand Sunday brunch buffet of my childhood, but apparently the Palace discontinued it in 2015. Oh well, I at least hoped for good food and quality service. Didn’t get that either. The servers forgot my latte, only asked my boyfriend questions and ignored me, and barely checked in on us. The buffet featured cold pancakes, stale biscuits, basic scrambled eggs, and a platter of cheese. What a disappointment.

It is tough to beat the Garden Court of the Palace Hotel for setting as well as the food and service. The waiter even brought a crown for my 98 year-old Mom. She was tickled.

I had misarable experience trying to have business meals/breakfast and lunch there back to back. The place is so beautiful and tables are not too close, perfect for business meals and I wanted to invite 3 business partnerts with different time slots, so I called them a day before and got a table for few hours. Upon my arrival, I explained my booking to 2 persons at the reception, but their first response was "We dont understand" period. I explained several times but their response was still "We dont understand what you want. We dont do that here". (I waited for a manager to come, and he let me get a table in the end.) Maybe it was not how they operate their business there, being worried if customers would really eat or not, but their face showingthat they were annoyed made me feel sad. My experience was followed by other sad experiences when wait staff didnt get us menu for 15 minues or didnt come take orders for lunch for another 10 mins, resulting my business partners getting worried what was going on. The staffs might not be happy at work? I dont know but hope it wont happen to other customers.

The venue is as beautiful as any restaurant in any city. Daytime is prettier because of the natural light coming through the glass ceiling. For a special occasion it is memorable. It is easy to talk and visit. They allow enough room between table to allow private conversation. I would be happy to go again

What started poorly, ended up delightful. We were seated at 12:05, not very busy yet, but our order was not taken until 12:30. At 1:05 we still not have any food nor any feedback from our server. The other tables around us were being served.
We were celebrating a special friend's 88th birthday and she was quite excited to be there enjoying the beautiful room. I went to speak to the manager, Antonio, who was on the day 3 of this new job. He went to check on our order and shortly after that our food was served. I asked the server, Elena what had happened and she replied, "the kitchen is backed up". No apologies at all.
We were enjoying our entrees, and Antonio returned to check on us and said he was inviting us to this luncheon. Wow! That was very generous of him and the Garden Court. Our friend was quite pleased with his attention to pleasing us. After we finished, we sat enjoying our time together. To our surprise, Elena and Antonio presented us with 3 delicious desserts. They were both very nice and hoped that we would return as happy patrons.

Great staff. Seriously kind and attentive- and that's the major selling point here. That and the atmosphere. However, if you're considering value or "bang for your buck" I'd go elsewhere. Breakfast buffet is 40$ per person, so you're really looking at about $100 for a 2 person breakfast after tip. For that price, the food just wasn't up to snuff. Your selection is standard Western food- french toast/fruit/eggs... And the flavor/quality is nothing special- not bad or anything, just not worth the price tag.

Overall- Great staff, but overpriced average breakfast.

It seemed like the people who work in Palace hotel are very stressful. I got no smile when I step in the hotel, and walk at the lobby. Same thing at the receptionist of the Garden court. The waitress who serve us only provided so so service, I even recognized we miss a welcome fruit dishes that every table got one but not us. How could he miss it, that must be put on each table before the customer place their order. The most important thing is when I check the other waitress, they are doing quite well. Always smile and keep asking how things go to their service table. The food is ok, but not great. The environment is great for any occasion. I might go again if I feel I have better luck in that moment.

The Garden Court is always gorgeous and has a great staff. We had somewhat of a rough start, and the manager Andre, and the next staff to take care of us, Walter, went above and beyond to turn the experience around and exceed any sort of expectations. The restaurant was already a favorite, their care really says something to create customer loyalty. For anyone who has not been there it’s good for bringing friends and family, and also brunch and high tea. Easily one of the most beautiful rooms to dine in, in the city.

We loved the room. However, we ordered the calamari and it arrived very cold. Our salad was also bland and lacked seasoning, perhaps just a miss in the kitchen. The amazing room seems to force the food to require “keeping up with it”... so when the food arrived cold, it seemed to be an amplified missing.
I can imagine the cooks have their work cut out for them trying to keep the food as amazing as the room.

I was disappointed that the Sunday Brunch Buffet was discontinued some time ago. The website says it still exists. However, the room is so beautiful, the staff so friendly (but not overly so) and the ambiance so relaxing that we didn't really mind. The food was good, but not very exciting, the portions on the European side, small by American standards, but sufficient. I remarked to my companions that we would have a lovely meal and leave feeling overly fed and that is exactly what happened. The live music, piano and bass, was good and the musicians very cordial. Overall a lovely experience.

Beautiful palace ,love the chandeliers . I was looking forward to a grate breakfast. My Waiter was not very enthusiastic serving our table, he spoke very few words buffet or a la carte. I had to get up and ask for more coffee. After 15 minutes they send someone else to service our table, he was much more attantive and professional. We didn't finish our breakfast not a very good experience for $100.00 2 coffees 2 orenge juices and some bread. I was expecting more like WELCOME TO THE COURT YARD, MAY I OFFERE COFFEE, ORENGE JUICE, ICE WATER. PLEASE POOR SERVICE DOESN'T DO JUSTICE TO THIS BEAUTIFUL PLACE.

The location is gorgeous, but the food is just so-so and the service is also just ok. Given the price tag ($76/person for afternoon tea + glass of sparkling wine), I would have expected more.

- Food: the mini black sesame cream puff was excellent. Aside from that, nothing to write home about. We got a chocolate covered strawberry, an egg tart, a chocolate dipped almond cookie, and some kind of a chocolate shell thingy filled with cream. Nothing special about the savories either (chicken salad, smoked salmon, etc.)...basically lacking originality whatsoever.
- Service: inattentive. I made a reservation through OpenTable. Even though they did have my reservation, I did not receive dining points. After contacting OpenTable I found out that the restaurant had erroneously canceled my reservation! I had also mentioned in the comment section that we were celebrating Valentine's Day - however, we received a complimentary piece of cheesecake with a "Happy Birthday" message.
- Ambiance: the live harp performance was nice. However, combined with the proximity to the adjacent table (and the size of the table - my husband and I were sitting across from each other), it made our conversation quite cumbersome, requiring us to scream at each other.

Went for tea. Had the signature tea. The atmosphere is what we went for and that did not disappoint. My sister and I both thought that for the idea of a fabulous tea there would have been a bit more care taken to check on the actual tea. We were hoping for a second teapot and no one ever asked how we were doing. Bummer.

Very disappointed by my lunch experience here on a Sunday. The setting was beautiful and Parisian but the food and service mediocre. Did something happen to this hotel's management from years ago? I do not know if this the reason. I'm paying premium prices for a nice lunch but neither my food or my companion's food was tasty at all despite a gourmet menu. The only thing that was good was the $6 fresh squeezed orange that was only about half a glass. The fire alarm kept going off but no waiter came by to tell us not to be alarmed and we were supposed to just accept it as a fact of dining there. A server wouldn't give us water bc he wasn't our waiter and we had to ask multiple times. In the end, we packed a wafflette to go and asked for accompanying syrup so the waiter proceeded to drown the waffle directly with syrup instead of including it separately in a small plastic container. Quality of service and food was just simply poor and in sharp contrast to the elegant setting (not to mention the pricey price tag).

It was my mom’s wish to celebrate her 85th Birthday for brunch at the Palace Hotel. My mom has so many fond memories of coming to the Palace as a child so this had special meaning for her. Besides the interior being très elegant, the service was excellent. The food presentation was superb. A nice plus was hearing the live jazz & standards music in the background.

The ambiance during the day, especially with the skylight, is terrific, and the food is very good. However, prices are sky-high, and a person -- at least this person -- gives thoughtful consideration prior to committing to a meal here. I don't scrimp on my meals, yet the Garden Court remains a rare treat. I've never had a bad experience in the GC.

All and all our dining experience was good. When coming to the Palace we like to leave all our worries and political issue outside and step into a beautiful memory of by gone era. Having the waiters wear Union 2 buttons on their uniforms is a "political statement" and one I do not want thrown in my face while trying to have a nice lunch and leave the politics outside. I say this having been in a Union for years. I just don't understand why we who are patronizing the Garden Court have to see this while having lunch. What's next, "I am for Trump" buttons?
Thanks for listening. Holly C. Kully
