GAONNURI [gah-ohn-nu-ri]: The Center of the World
The name GAONNURI represents our placement in what we believe is the center of the world, both physically and figuratively. Located in the heart of New York City,
a city that represents the intersection of the finest cuisines and eclectic cultures, GAONNURI seeks to gather people of all backgrounds to share
in a traditional Korean dining experience. We hope that the authenticity of the food
and the enjoyment of the dining experience will invite patrons for generations to come.
Thank you for allowing us to invite and serve you in our own culinary center.
The setting is amazing. Huge windows overlooking the city! The food was fantastic. BBQ'd right at your table. We highly recommend the Prix Fix if this is your first adventure with Korean BBQ. Great choices! Service was lovely, attentive and very helpful with questions.
Delicious traditional Korean meals with a friendly staff and good City view. The desert was not traditional but it was still delicious as my wife and I are every bite. Finding the entrance was a little hard due to construction but that was pretty minimal.
Great view! Really great meals!!! To repeat and to advice
I went for restaurant week and I was not disappointed (well.. maybe with dessert because it was so good that I wanted more). Our waitress was helpful but not overbearing, every course was delicious (honestly, I would drink the pear dressing from the salad if I could!) and the ambiance is lovely! We didn't get the full impact because it was still light when we arrived but we still loved it! Can't wait to go back.
Très bon resto, une vue imprenable. Nous recommandons
Fabulous meal. Great service and attention.
We were celebrating a friend’s birthday. The birthday girl did not want a dessert , so i figured we wouldn’t be able to blow out a candle; however the restaurant was nice enough to to bring us a dessert with a candle for her!
My daughter invited me to dinner for my birthday and we truly enjoyed the view from the 39th floor. We both chose barbecue dishes -prime rib and a marinated beef Galbi. They cooked it at our table to perfection. A beautiful and very festive occasion.
Our server was fabulous and the food was delicious! We will definitely be back soon!
Fabulous views! Great food!
Food & view excellent but restaurant has gotten somewhat shabby. Needs a refurbishing.....especially for the price.
Lunch is not so expensive. The view is wonderful. I strongly recommend this restaurant.
Great ! Fun and awesome views!
Great views, great service!
Food seems to have lost some authenticity.
The ambience and the view is beautiful. The best food I had so far during the restaurant week summer 2019.
As newcomers to the Korean BBQ dinner, we truly did not know what to order or do. The staff was AWESOME! From the moment we sat down, they were attentive to our needs. They helped us order, made the recommendations and they were spot on.
They cooked it for us and was delicious!
The only complaint...the restrooms need immediate updating and repair. They do not help the restaurant at all.
Be careful! Waiters decided to order me extra potion of meats without telling me. Only found out when they brought bill and it was $36 higher than it should be. Also left us to cook on our own for two of the meats.
Very nice view and delicious food, we enjoyed the dinner very much.
Gaonnuri is a Korean restaurant known for their view. However I noticed that the windows weren’t clean. We ordered the restaurant week prix fixe menu. Food was good food
Came here to check it out during restaurant week. The food and service were spot on! The view is amazing. Great decor and great wine list. Will come back again to try the regular menu. Definitely a great find.
I mean, of course you get to climb on a skyscraper and dine on top of broadway and that makes up for the most of the experience. For the rest, food was good but overall not mind blowing — got shrimps and figs, if it wasn’t for the sauce, flavor was barely noticeable; fried mushrooms were crunchy on the outside, still chewy and full and water on the inside; mains were good though, thumbs up for the cod’s seasoning. Wine list was average and forgettable, went for cocktails which were well done and rather light. Service was ok. Good experience, not one of the best.
one of the few places in K-town where you can have a business dinner. Truly outstanding place.
Had a great meal with incredible views celebrating our friend’s birthday. Food was delicious!
STUNNING views, great food, wonderful atmosphere! Servers were nice, fast & efficient.
This was a wonderful restaurant. One of the best in the city. Perfect views of the city and you get to see the sunset if you're having dinner. The staff were kind and attentive. I truly appreciate the service received at Gaonnuri. Will definitely come back. Their restaurant week option was 10/10 worth every penny. We did the bbq so we paid a bit more but it was worth it. Come with a friend, significant other, family, coworkers, this is the place to be.
We ate at the restaurant during the New York Restaurant Week. The prix fixe menu which includes one appetizer, one entree and one dessert costs $42 although some of the items have additional costs. The restaurant is located on the 39th floor and has a beautiful view. It is definitively upscale compared to most Korean restaurant but does not reach the top echelon as far as decoration and service are concerned. Overall it is an excellent dining experience.
My son’s 16th Birthday.
Food was a bit blah. It needed some additional seasoning. We both ordered stone bowls. After adding some spicy sauce and ginger soy sauce it tasted better.
Amazing views, pretty romantic too. Food was above average, service was on point. Not an authentic K-town experience, but if you’re past the novelty of that, this is where you should go.
Muy bueno todo. Desde la entrada hasta el postre. Muy recomendable.
Pre-fix on restaurant week was excellent! Construction of the building still going on and make entry unnecessarily troublesome
Beyond belief , everything that is different, above the expected from the highest standards
Perfect and great service !
Amazing view and good food and service
I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at Gaonnuri. My friend and I shared the squash blossoms for an appetizer, which were extremely flavorful and crispy. We also had the table BBQ bulgogi steak and the black cod which was perfectly cooked and served in some sort of amazing spicy sauce kept hot by a small candle under the dish (nice touch). The ambiance was very lively and the view of the city from the 39th floor was a perfect place to bring my friend who was visiting from out of town. Since we did the restaurant week menu we had a dessert included, which I did not want and the server brought me a matcha tea instead which was really nice. The cocktails were great as well, we had the soothe and some sort of smoky mezcal drink. Would highly recommend.
Delicious and amazing! Excellent service, large portions and absolutely delicious food!
This was my second time eating at Gaonnuri, bottom line is that it's delicious, but expensive. I asked to have the BBQ meats split into 5 portions to accommodate our group, but they did not and said they couldn't once they came out to prepare.
The food was disappointing. Bland, tough meat etc. Great window tables for the views.
Everything was good! Would recommend. Food was delicious.
