The name GAONNURI represents our placement in what we believe is the center of the world, both physically and figuratively. Located in the heart of New York City, a city that represents the intersection of the finest cuisines and eclectic cultures, GAONNURI seeks to gather people of all backgrounds to share in a traditional Korean dining experience. We hope that the authenticity of the food and the enjoyment of the dining experience will invite patrons for generations to come.     octopus and black cod were great, tofu stuffed with mushrooms a bit dull starters were big portions, I would have only had one if I'd realised

    I used come here with “locals” for lunch, but this was my first dinner here. Excellent food and impeccable service. The Shoju and yuzu cocktails were the highlights. Good lychee martini as well. It’s a modern Korea, not what you can find on the street level. Although you get kimchi and other traditional dishes, I would suggest to try their hot appetizers like the blossoms and seafood pie. The BBQ was also delicious. We had ribeye and more “traditional” galbi. Both were excellent. My suggestion is to get the glass noodles not as an appetizer but as a side dish - delicious! We had a great service, especially the sommelier - very knowledgeable and helpful in pairing the food with drinks. We also had their version of Baked Alaska (Black Forest cake) and did not regret it. We were in the lounge with the stunning views of the Empire State Building, a quieter setting as compared to the main dining area. Still my favorite place in Korea Town - not cheap but worth every $$$

    We didn’t know what to expect but wow it was worth it! Food taste was exceptional. If you thought you knew Korean food, this opened up my pallet to what it should truly taste like. The flavors were not “bold” per se but strong without effort. Loud without being loud. It was very very good. Service was exceptional. A Must visit.
