GAONNURI [gah-ohn-nu-ri]: The Center of the World
The name GAONNURI represents our placement in what we believe is the center of the world, both physically and figuratively. Located in the heart of New York City,
a city that represents the intersection of the finest cuisines and eclectic cultures, GAONNURI seeks to gather people of all backgrounds to share
in a traditional Korean dining experience. We hope that the authenticity of the food
and the enjoyment of the dining experience will invite patrons for generations to come.
Thank you for allowing us to invite and serve you in our own culinary center.
Food was okay. Portions were nice. Views we’re beautiful. Not itching to go back with the food being just okay but would consider being back out of town guests to experience the view.
The view is priceless and the food is outstanding. I will go back!
Sadly the food was not good!
The food was perfect, the view was phenomenal! The staff was helpful and attentive.
Restaurants in Koreatown in Manhattan have become synonymous with rudeness and bad quality.
Gaonnuri is an exception. I have been there several times for lunch and dinner. Each time was great and the guests were impressed.
Birthday done with friends.
Great food and great fun!
The server gave us meat despite specifically telling the server that we don’t want any meat.
The service was horrible, when I asked the waiter for more sauces he got upset, came back and threw it at me. When I asked for a fork he look annoyed 😒. Wasn’t enough food. It was my husband’s birthday we waited forever for them to come out with the dessert they literally came back with ice cream on the plate and said it’s on the house. They didn’t sing happy birthday like they did for the table next to us. The occasion wasn’t special. Instead he felt like running out the restaurant. Everything was horrible. They ruin my husband birthday, never again.
The place is so fantastic. The service was exceptionally good. They went out of their way to cater to our needs. I give it 5 stars.
Once you find the only access thru a construction zone, it is a fantastic restaurant. Excellent food, amazing views from the 39th floor & great service. We missed our dinner reservation by 30 minutes as we were directed to 3 different access points to their elevator, none of which got us to the right place. Went back for lunch next day and found the hidden door finally.
We love this restaurant. We went on the earlier side to see the sunset.
Barbacue was great.
I took out of town guests for their first Korean BBQ experience. Gaonnuri was the highlight of their visit. The view was incredible and the food was tasty. I'm a vegetarian and had the stone bowl bibimbap. My friends had the bulgogi, shrimp, and chicken. The bulgogi was their favorite. The food was a little pricey for what it was. But the ambiance and view of the downtown skyline made it well worth it. I would take visitors again. I'd also consider going back for drinks with local friends as the atmosphere was great.
Outstanding food, very reasonable price. Was very loud but a Friday night in NYC!!
Very poor service. Arrogant staff. They were in a rush to serve us.
Overall I really enjoyed dining at Gaonnuri. Dinner was delicious, dessert was yummy, drinks amazing. I'm not giving it 5 stars because I found the staff to be just ok. They come across as indifferent. Not rude but not nice either.
Excellent!!! Excellent!!!! Excellent!!! Wonderful place. Great view. Great for date night, friends and/or family outing. The staff was very helpful in preparing our meal.
So expensive and the quality was terrible.
We spent $700 but we were all hungry
The waiter was unkind we felt waiter does not want to work.
I will not recommend this restaurant.
It was amazing.
I would recommend the Japchae to everyone.
An amazing appetizer, and if you are looking for a light dinner too.
We got the BBQ, and one of the soups 👌🏾.
Service was neat and clean. Nothing else to say.
I gave gaonnuri 5 stars for the combination of good food and amazing view. Our servers were attentive, and the food was really good. The pork belly bulgogi and marinated beef galbi were both delicious!
Horrific service. Horrific food, how can shrimp be so bland? Not an ounce of marinade? My story is so long i will post on Google. This restaurant is more than rude the servers have no idea what person space is they lean on you cross their entire body in front of your face. They just have low standards.
I had a great time, it’s such a lovely place to have a lovely dinner with friends. The view of manhattan is wonderful. Also the waiters were super amazing.
This is a great place!!!
Gaonnuri is an outstanding restaurant. It food is excellent, excellent wine choices, it has beautiful views of New York City and River views; the service is excellent; and the atmosphere is vibrant with diverse crowds always filling the restaurant. It has a great bar with expert mixologists, although I believe the wind from the elevators that open onto the bar inhibit people from hanging out there for long periods. Go prepared for a great evening and to spend, it is pricey.
The setting is amazing. Huge windows overlooking the city! The food was fantastic. BBQ'd right at your table. We highly recommend the Prix Fix if this is your first adventure with Korean BBQ. Great choices! Service was lovely, attentive and very helpful with questions.
Delicious traditional Korean meals with a friendly staff and good City view. The desert was not traditional but it was still delicious as my wife and I are every bite. Finding the entrance was a little hard due to construction but that was pretty minimal.
Your courtesy of a special birthday dessert was so lovely and added an extra touch for a celebration of my friend's birthday.
Thank you so very much.
Great view! Really great meals!!! To repeat and to advice
I went for restaurant week and I was not disappointed (well.. maybe with dessert because it was so good that I wanted more). Our waitress was helpful but not overbearing, every course was delicious (honestly, I would drink the pear dressing from the salad if I could!) and the ambiance is lovely! We didn't get the full impact because it was still light when we arrived but we still loved it! Can't wait to go back.
Très bon resto, une vue imprenable. Nous recommandons
Fabulous meal. Great service and attention.
We were celebrating a friend’s birthday. The birthday girl did not want a dessert , so i figured we wouldn’t be able to blow out a candle; however the restaurant was nice enough to to bring us a dessert with a candle for her!
My daughter invited me to dinner for my birthday and we truly enjoyed the view from the 39th floor. We both chose barbecue dishes -prime rib and a marinated beef Galbi. They cooked it at our table to perfection. A beautiful and very festive occasion.
Our server was fabulous and the food was delicious! We will definitely be back soon!
Fabulous views! Great food!
Food & view excellent but restaurant has gotten somewhat shabby. Needs a refurbishing.....especially for the price.
Lunch is not so expensive. The view is wonderful. I strongly recommend this restaurant.
Great ! Fun and awesome views!
Great views, great service!
Food seems to have lost some authenticity.
