a city that represents the intersection of the finest cuisines and eclectic cultures, GAONNURI seeks to gather people of all backgrounds to share
in a traditional Korean dining experience. We hope that the authenticity of the food
and the enjoyment of the dining experience will invite patrons for generations to come.
Thank you for allowing us to invite and serve you in our own culinary center.
Amability ouf service must be most positive.
We are french and we aren ´t satisfait of cordiality of one server.
We buy 140 dollars so in my opinion it merit to more attention about customers and efforts to understand them.
But beyond this négative point its a very good restaurant.
Delicat food service very just.
Food was not good. Ambience and service was good.
Just amazing, my daughter and I had such a wonderful time here! Thank you!
Amazing food and environment- will come again next time I’m in NY!
Beautiful experience. Was my first time here. Food very good.
The food is amazing, the view is even better. New favorite date night restaurant!
Fun place with a group or special occasion! Very attentative staff, great atmosphere and overall nice experience!
Food was phenomenal. View was great, too. Only some of the tables have BBQs in them if you're going for Korean Barbecue, but the non-BBQ food is amazing, too. Perfect place for a special occasion.
Great food, great views, but... my husband and I had an hour and 45 minutes for our meal because we had tickets to a performance. When considering what to order, we asked the waiter how long the tasting menu would take and he said about 45 minutes. I confirmed “45 minutes for the whole thing??” Yes. Okay, so thinking that even if it were twice that we’d be okay, we ordered the tasting menu at $135 pp. Unfortunately the time estimate was way off and we had to rush. We missed dessert entirely and ran to our show. It was stressful, and for that price we should not have had to experience that.
Never had Korean Food! But oh boy I did enjoy eating some of the dishes like the Tofu Seon,Fried Calamari Salad, mandoo, and the Giib Soup amazing! Great services. we had a Table close to the window! Amazing
Amazing views over New York. Friendly service. Tasty appetizers and decently sized mains (biggest piece of miso black cod I've ever been served - amazing!).
The food is amazing like the service!!!
Not worth the price of admission.... Food was tasteless. Service was bad and host told a bunch of lies... For $400 spending budget not worth it... will pass on this place always
The food was mediocre, absence of flavor, just greasy meat. This type of food can be found in the cheapest restaurant in any other cheap Korean restaurants, not authentic food. Service is poor. Rude and ignorant waiters.
It comes with sauce....
Food was fine, but that’s it. No complaints on the food but it was extraordinary, and with prices as high as they were, I was hoping for a little higher than fine. Again, not bad food! Food was good, but you can get the same food literally anywhere else in the city for half the price. Views were amazing, I mean, your super high up, it was cool. Place was real nice, high end, elegant etc. service was pretty lame. Waited for almost 15 minutes for our waters to get to our table, another then to get our order. Food came out in less than 10 minutes but not from our server. No one checked in, had to go find someone to take my money over an hour later lol. It was my wife’s birthday and Valentine’s Day and it felt about as far from that as it could get unfortunately. Table next to us felt very similar. Oh well, try again for her birthday next year!
Beautiful place, perfect service, delicious food.
First time to dine in for Lunch valentines just hope they have more menu for the lunch on valentines day. But overall we like the food and service and of course the view will come back definitely this time for dinner so we can experience the view of nyc at night
The view outside the window is amazing and the food is delicious.
My son asked us to take him and his girlfriend to Gaonnuri for his birthday since they both enjoy Korean food. I must admit I'd never had Korean food before and didn't know what to expect. As it turned out, the food was really good. This is my third time at Gaonnuri and I really enjoy everything about it. The wait staff is totally efficient without being overbearing; the food is excellent and the city views are terrific.
I was visiting from Miami for the weekend and I was looking for a nice place to take my friend for dinner with a great view. Gaonnuri is a beautiful restaurant with great views of the city. The food was delicious and so was the dessert of chocolate lava cake. They even remembered my birthday somehow and add a candle and "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate to the lava cake. The only minor complaint I have is that my friend ordered a mixed drink with tequila in it and it tasted like melted plastic. I don't drink tequila so I have no idea how tequila should taste but my mojito was great. Overall, we had a great time and I would highly recommend it to take friends and family.
Extremely well done !! The quality of the beef was terrific
Wonderful view and wonderful food. I can’t believe the rice bowl can stay hot for over an hour without over cooking or drying out the meal.
Outstanding location with superb food ans excellent service.
Worst service I’ve had in quite some time.
One and done.
Food was delicious though on the pricey side. Amazing view. Good service.
Great experience and ambience. Service was great too.
I felt a bit rushed they kept making us place the food ok the grill or staring at us.
When I booked the table on OpenTable I put in a note saying I was entertaining out of town business folks. I asked for a window table so they could see the view. When we arrived for our 5PM dinner reservation the hostess started to walk us to a booth which was in front of a pole so you couldn't see anything. I asked kindly if we could move to a window table. She didn't say sorry and just said no those are booked 6 weeks in advance. We asked to be moved to a booth not in front of a pole and she just walked away. It was by far the rudest experience I've ever had in a restaurant. There was only 2 other tables full in the entire restaurant. Only one group came to sit at one of the other tables by the window the entire time we were there. The rest were empty. And when I asked the folks that were at one of the tables by the window if they booked 6 weeks in advance they said no. The colleagues I brought there were not impressed at all. I will be reaching out to the owner as well and recommending the book The Welcomer's Edge so that others will not ever have the experience my colleagues and I had.
The view us amazing. Service is very good and the food was delicious.
Food here is delicious, been here a few times now and it never disappoints. Only not so great comment would be that the place is sort of known for the views as well, but unfortunately unless you’re at one of the few tables on the edges, you cannot really enjoy any view.
Our server seemed really worried at first but he seemed alright a while after we sat down. The food was amazing. They were really attentive and careful with the meat and they grilled it for us. Afterwards, they always came back to make sure the meat was still hot to eat and kept heating it up for us. Stunning view!
It was nice dining experience. The waiting staffs were little pushy though.
The food was excellent and the view was espectacular!
We came here for Restaurant Week lunch and had a wonderful experience. Very classy place with amazing views of Manhattan. The service was perfect -- attentive without being intrusive, and able and willing to answer any and all questions about the menu, patiently and accurately. The food was plentiful and delicious, and unlike some other Restaurant Week places, there were numerous options for each course. I highly recommend!
it has been a very outstanding experience.
excellent food and most of all the view at the 39th floor.
absolutely unique and fantastic.
Having an amazing time with my daughter and her in-laws
Beautiful view, delicious and creative food and incredible service. Would absolutely come again!
Nice location (not easy to find) with amazing view of Midtown. Korean barbecue is also an interesting option. I had pancakes, a sort of fish ramen and the chef's dessert, as part of the Restaurant Week Menu. Pancakes very abundant and interesting. Ramen was boiling and even too much. Dessert was good but very small.
I would give try with the standard menu.
Mediocrity at its best. If you want to Korean barbecue experience where you cook it yourself skip this place. Expensive not worth. Incompetent Matre’d service.
