I wish we could have gotten the window table we’d requested but I under stand these were booked a month in advance it was the perfect place to celebrate my daughter’s 18th birthday. It was pricy but it was the best Korean food I’ve tasted, sorry grandma.
Second time to this restaurant
Very special with bbq grill
Just the best view
Very polite and good service
Will come back for sure
Good experience, good food and view. Servers are great but reception has an attitude. Even with a reservation reception insisted on having every member present before seating. We told her that we will be eating ahead while our last member comes, but she resisted sesting us. Took more convincing until we were finally seated. Kinda feels treated like crap, especially when we ended up spending ~500 bucks for three people. I'd be ok with all this refusal of seating without everyone if its a less pricy venue, but considering the cost I expected a bit more. Was a bit embrassing in front of my business guest.
This was my first time at Gaonnuri and it didn't disappoint. From the stunning view of New York City from the 39th floor (we were fortunately to be seated by a view with such a view). Thank you for that Gaonnuri. It made a great difference in the experience, My party of three was impressed . Now on to the food, drinks and service. We decided upon the BBQ combo for 3. The prime short ribs were delicious and cooked to my preference. The staff were extremely professional and attentive. The restaurant and ladies rest decor... stunning but the VIP of the night was the Golden Sunset cocktail Lit !!!
Wonderful service, beautiful view and outstanding food. This was a top quality place for a great price. We did not wait at all and everything we ate was perfect.
I love this restaurant. I do have to say I did have an incident with the bartender at the bar while waiting for me dinner companion. she tried to tell me what to tip, which I thought was rude. other than that, I love this restaurant, the views , the wait staff is great and the food is really good
Environment was good and food was good.
Service was good as well.
Really amazing place. The staff was superb, so attentive, helpful and nice! The food was delicious, I shared the combo 1 BBQ meal with my boyfriend. I was very impressed by everything. The meal is pricey but worth it for a special occasion. The skyline view is a pretty awesome perk!
BBQ at table prefix meal was delicious. Service was amazing. Highly recommend. The view was a bonus.
Visited for our anniversary. The restaurant surprised us with an anniversary dessert which was amazing! The view is outstanding! Would definitely visit again!
Everything was perfect but server could have been more welcoming and attentive
Good ambience and chic. However, too much westernized Korean foods, not authentic.
The ambience and city view are both outstanding, I recommend coming at night. Food does not exceed expectations but is still very good. It is also quite quiet which I appreciate, good for talking.
It was great, the food was delicious and on point, great atmosphere overall!!! Loving it!!
The restaurant was amazing - the view just can't be beat, the food was outstanding, and the service was perfection.
Absolutely wonderful experience and a seriously Amazing View!! Everything was delicious and flavorful!! We would come back again absolutely!
Nice Korean restaurant - service was on the money - accommodating staff - courteous and efficient ...
Thought I was just going for the view but the food was just as good as all the other places ... the freebie side dishes was not as plentiful but the portions were fine ...
The SNICKERS dessert serving was nice - they were able to do a happy birthday with a candle ...
SOJU assorted mix was a great entry for anyone who has never had SOJH ... only order 1 BOTTLE of SOJU for 3 - more than 1 bottle and u may have a hard time walking!
greatly improved in the past 2 years.
excellent food , drinks and service.
Overall it was a great place to eat especially if you want to take a special someone out. I’d say the view we had was fine but the best view at this place was the side where you can see the Empire State Building, which wasn’t the side I had but I still had a good time good was really good and I enjoyed the service. I would come back again.
Made reservations about a week prior requesting window seating. We were seated in a both far from the window. Celebrating an anniversary, staff did not acknowledge the event. Service staff not very attentive. Waited several minutes before being asked for beverages. Placed my empty glass at the edge of table to see what happened, nothing. Decided to pass on desert and other beverages, since we were never asked.
Food was fantastic!
Spectacular view of the skyline with tremendous service and exceptional food. We chose the option to have our dishes barbequed at our table with assorted side dishes and relishes. It was a wonderful choice as the food was fresh with great flavor and lovely presentation. The entire wait staff was attentive and helpful making suggestions and even gave some instruction as needed... our first time with this experience.
Our thanks to everyone involved. We will dine there again.
The fish was not fresh !!! The Red Snapper.
And the restaurant is impossible to locate, two taxidrivers couldn'ent find it !!!!!
And, the ware stressed because the kitchen was closing ......
Great food and outstanding service. A bit pricey but that’s what you get in this kind of places. Would definitely go back.
Outstanding dining experience.
The main attraction for this restaurant is the view which makes the over all dining experience okay. I have better Korean bbq value and taste wise. Not bad if you are on a date. But for seasoned lovers... you might not be impressed with this any longer.
View is disappointing. Apparently you need to book 1 month in advance to get a window table, and the view is not that great.
Service is poor and not specially friendly. We ordered champagne and it was Warm and took at least 45 mins to get chilled.
Food is good though !
Overall not tremendous value for money
Beyond the spectacular views from this 39th floor venue, the food, service, and general ambiance made for a very enjoyable evening. I've already made reservations for Thanksgiving dinner. I suspect they will come up with some sort of creative Korean approach to turkey. Turkey Bimbibap? Kimchi stuffing? I'm down for anything because I would trust the chefs at this K-town culinary extravaganza.
Awesome Korean cuisine with stunning views over Manhattan. Great cocktail list and cozy bar.
We were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant on the 39th floor of a building very near Penn Station. We both had the $55 pre-fixe which was quite amazing and a great way to explore Korean food. Our entries, duck bbq and beef hot stone bowl, were accompanied by at least 7 additional items plus appetizers, scallion pancakes and beef glass noodles, which were all exciting and tasty. In addition, desert was included, a perfect finish of the best passion fruit sorbet with a tiny cake.
Good food. Great service. Great place. Great value
The views are spectacular. A great place to take a tourist. Try to sit by a window. Definitely have the barbecue. The food is good and so was the service. I take people there all the time.
Lovely place to celebrate a special occasion. Might be the prettiest view in Manhattan, with wonderful service.
Amazing Korean food! We went for our daughter's 16th birthday and it was a wonderful meal, from beginning to end. The view from the 39th floor is incredible. The food was delicious, and the service attentive! Highly recommend!
They were very accommodating even if the other party was close to kitchen closing! Great place!
I came here for my anniversary after hearing it offers a nice view. GAONNURI is set on the 39th floor, offering an enjoyable view of Times Square in the distance. The service was great, very friendly staff. We got the prix fixe course, which consisted of an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Overall, the food was good, nothing amazing but satisfactory. They gave us a nice extra chocolate dessert for our anniversary which was very nice of them. I would recommend coming here with a date.
I usually have a wonderful experience here but for some reason this time they mixed up my dish (which had no mushroom because I hate mushrooms) with the other person with me. I couldn’t finish eating it because of that. I gave a good review because this is never the norm.
Absolutely stunning views of the city skyline. A stone's throw away from the Empire State Building (at least it looked very close to me). We had a perfect round table in the corner of the main dining space. The food was phenomenal. The veggies were so flavorful and there was PLENTY. I had the shrimp and lobster kimchi fried rice as my entree. My mouth was on fire but it was totally worth it and I would go back and order it again if I have the opportunity. We ordered more meats than I can remember for the in-table grill. All just so tasty, juicy, and cooked to my liking (medium). The service was so pleasant, our waitress (damn me for not remembering her name) was really patient with us. We had infinite questions and probably made for a confusing series of orders but she did not miss a beat. She answered all of our questions, offered great recommendations, and had a smile on the entire night. By far, one of the most memorable dining experiences in all of NYC to date. Obviously pricey, but the cost is more than justified.
Server took forever to take our order.. forgot 2 main dishes, and said “ops” didn’t explain any of the food served but was super quick to hand over the check!
If you don't get a table at the window - choose another restaurant!
Great for dining before a Madison Square Garden event. Sunset view amazing plus great food and service! Homemade ice cream was fabulous!!! Will come back.
