GAONNURI [gah-ohn-nu-ri]: The Center of the World
The name GAONNURI represents our placement in what we believe is the center of the world, both physically and figuratively. Located in the heart of New York City,
a city that represents the intersection of the finest cuisines and eclectic cultures, GAONNURI seeks to gather people of all backgrounds to share
in a traditional Korean dining experience. We hope that the authenticity of the food
and the enjoyment of the dining experience will invite patrons for generations to come.
Thank you for allowing us to invite and serve you in our own culinary center.
Waiters are not attentive, quite snooby
Thank you for nice birthday dinner.
Me and my girlfriend celebrated her birthday.
Delicious, beautiful view and we will definitely be back again!!
A widow table is key - it's on the 39th floor of the building! We had the non-beef BBQ and the Saki tasting flight. They were both delicious. Service was excellent.
upscale korean with a gorgeous ambience and view
good value for the money
Elegant location with an amazing view of the city and delicious food.
We were on a short visit to New York from Ireland and wanted to go somewhere special for out last evening. Gaonnuri was just wonderful, great food and amazing views over Manhattan. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Enjoyed everything about our dining experience!
I payed and gave a tip then went to the bar for a drink, the waitress then came over and asked if there was a problem with the service as I didn’t tip 20% as they were slow with looting drinks and showing me to the table
The food was mediocre at best. I believe the price tag reflects the beautiful NYC skyline, not the caliber of the food. The wait staff was not helpful in helping us decide our meal. When I asked the difference between two menu items, I got “one comes in a cold plate, (as he pointed to an empty plate on the table) and one comes in a hot.” I noticed the server prepare the hot dish that I had ordered for the next next to us. He did not prepare it for out table. I would have excused the poor service if the food was outstanding. This restaurant falls short on everything expect for ambience. Will not be returning.
Went there to celebrate my son’s birthday w/ family The food was good but the service was awful. We will never go back again, it was not worth the price.
Location was a little difficult to find. Staff made us feel a little rushed. Staff could have been a little more helpful with the menu. Food however was excellent.
Lovely place and views but food was nothing special
Excellent for a special date night. It felt like we were going to an exclusive place since it was on the 39th floor. Food is delicious and excellent quality. We did the BBQ at the table and the server who cooked for us was unobtrusive so did not interfere with the ambiance. Highly recommend and will surely come again.
Went there before seeing the Lion King on Broadway. Great experience. My Korean wife and Mother-in-law both thought the food was fantastic!
I would definitely return to try more dishes! Table barbecues were best.
The view at GAONNURI is spectacular, especially around sunset. Started with an appetizer of the steamed dumplings, which were great. Then split the Beef Combo for 2. The cuts of meat where marinated very well, with the galbi and bulgogi being the best. Fun experience having the staff cook right at the table for you. Would definitely go back.
Korean a cut above the rest. Loved the shrimp in squash blossoms and the wait staff grills your meat for you at the table. And a lovely view!!!
Celebrating my son’s 23rd birthday. The atmosphere is beautiful with a spectacular view in the 39th floor !
The food was good quality but not outstandingly flavorful. We had to request hot sauce for the appetizers that were quite bland. Barbecue was good but the service in it was quite slow. Every time I looked for my waitress she was hard to find. The food is quite a bit pricier than other Korean places in Koreatown and not tastier.
It’s greatest asset is the views... that’s the only reason we went - the food was perfectly ok just wasn’t blown away...
Penthouse floor so you get a BEAUTIFUL view. Food was delicious as were the drinks!
The restaurant is beautiful with a great view of the city from the 39th floor. The service was excellent. The food was good, but not the best Korean food I've eaten. Since I was on a first date I was hoping for a somewhat quieter place, but overall the experience was very positive ( and my date was amazing!)
I asked the server for a recommendation for semisweet wine and the one he picked was dry they brought my second course when I was still enjoying my appetizer I felt they were rushing me
Not what I remembered. The food and service was not as good as past experiences. Pricing is too expensive for what is provided.
Great food, great view, great service, great experience!!
Great place to take your friends and family. Pricey but reasonable value.
Incredible view on the skyline of Manhattan. The food is delicious and the waiters are very kind. It's a really nice place for a romantic dinner or to celebrate an event... Higly recommended !
Food was okay. Portions were nice. Views we’re beautiful. Not itching to go back with the food being just okay but would consider being back out of town guests to experience the view.
Amazing food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere. Simply superb!!
The view is priceless and the food is outstanding. I will go back!
Perfect place to have business lunch. Much quieter and do not feel being rushed compare to other places in the same area. Food is always good and with spectacular views.
Sadly the food was not good!
The food was perfect, the view was phenomenal! The staff was helpful and attentive.
Restaurants in Koreatown in Manhattan have become synonymous with rudeness and bad quality.
Gaonnuri is an exception. I have been there several times for lunch and dinner. Each time was great and the guests were impressed.
Birthday done with friends.
Great food and great fun!
The server gave us meat despite specifically telling the server that we don’t want any meat.
