Server was pleasant but inattentive. Think she had too many tables. Took 15 minutes to get the bottle of wine we ordered and it was corked - so the “Bar Manager” had to weigh in and they wouldn’t open another one so we had to start over. By then our food had long arrived and we waited another very long time for the other wine to come. Disappointed for our 19th anniversary when we could have gone anywhere. Won’t go back or recommend.
Overall an absolutely magical night. Gorgeous location, perfect night, breathtaking views, attentive service. One little snafu with my husband’s meal but second choice was excellent as was mine.
Whole heartily recommend this for a special night out!
Lovely location with spectacular ocean views; delicious cocktails, salads, steaks, fish and short ribs. It is not an inexpensive evening, so this is a special occasion place for us.
Food was good. Great ambience and better service. There was a really good band there, but they were a little too loud, so it was hard to have a conversation. Other than that a great place for dinner
Restaurant was loud, service was slow, a drink order was made incorrectly and our dessert took apx 40 minutes.
Food was very good and the views outstanding. Try to arrive for sunset. Our server was warm and welcoming and really made the meal special.
Every seat in the restaurant has an amazing view. My food was delicious! I had the steak and lobster and everything was cooked to perfection. The presentation of my dessert was beautiful. I had this incredible chocolate dish that was presented in a chocolate cup. It was to die for. Thank you
Bev Gannon - What has happened to your special restaurant? We have always loved coming to Gannon’s whenever we are in Maui and were looking forward to a great time last night, but unfortunately we had the opposite of a good time. When did Gannon’s become a “fast food” restaurant? We literally were in and out within 43 minutes (yes, that’s really forth-three) including appetizers, entrees and a birthday dessert along with a bottle of wine that we came no where near to finishing due to our food being gunned out at warp speed. We were still midway through our apps when our entrees arrived which was a huge surprise. The server tossed them on the table so fast we had no time to tell him not to bring them out yet. So, we started eating the entrees so they wouldn’t get cold which meant that our unfinished apps were cleared away too early. Then 1/3 of the way through our entrees a server dropped off a scoop of ice cream with a cookie and a candle in it and no spoons apparently as a token birthday dessert for my husband. We finished part of our entrees, hardly any of our wine and some of the dessert and everything was again whisked away. When I looked at my watch I saw that we had literally only been there for 43 minutes!!! Seriously??? All we could figure is that they really wanted our table to seat another group of guests. What a disappointing, wham, bam, thank you ma’am experience. Our server came by to see how our food was and was shocked that the dessert was on the table along with our entrees because he was bringing the dessert menu. I handed him my credit card and said to cork the wine and bring us our check since they apparently needed our table so badly for someone else. BTW - They weren’t crowded.... He sent the manager over who apologized profusely, assured us they didn’t need our table and invited us to stay to enjoy our wine, but at this point both of us were very upset and just wanted to leave since we didn’t feel at all welcomed.
The scallops risotto with mascarpone was too rich and gave me indigestion. My partner's lemongrass chicken did not taste of lemongrass but of star anise which he doesn't like.
We had an excellent lunch at the Halimaile Gen. Store on Thursday afterward. Much better food.Same owner.
We went there for our anniversary and everyone, from the hostess to the serving staff, made sure to mention our anniversary. We were treated with care and love, and the food was fabulous. Make sure to sit outside, if possible. The views are also stunning!
We were in Maui for 10 days and we ate at Gannon's twice and it was by far our favorite place.
Great would go again
Gannon’s was one of our best dining experiences in Maui. Beautiful sunset views. Cool architecture. Impeccable service. We had a pork chop, short rib and ahi tuna. We all raved about them! Dessert was mousse in a “coffee cup” made of chocolate ... spectacular!
The food is delicious, the view is beautiful, the service is excellent!!!
Crazy weather. We were under cover but out side and heavy rain and wind came in blowing all over us. The moved us inside fast and took good care of us
Great ambiance and food except the desserts were a bit disapointing
We were seated outdoors and had a beautiful view of Molokini. Our waiter, Kent, was very knowledgeable and professional. The food was very good and prices reasonable for high end dining on Maui. We plan to return.
It’s normally better, but this is for Easter Brunch which was not quite worth the cost.
There was no smoked salmon, smoked fish, prawns, oysters, seafood salads etc. We are use to that for Easter Brunch. Also we are used to at least having eggs Benedict, which is a staple really for a brunch. The dessert table was very sad indeed. I don;t believe that Bev Gannon had any input whatsoever for this brunch really. We usually go to Hailii Maile because her food there, upcountry is so good, and the service is excellent. So if you want a Gannon experience drive a bit up country and dine there.
Definitely would return- overall great experience
We had dinner here on a Saturday night at 830 and the restaurant was almost empty so we were a little worried. However, the food was fantastic. We had he scallop risotto which was delicious and my husband had the seared tuna which he loved. If you are looking for a quiet dinner away from the beach (it's set on a golf course), this is your place!
Enjoyed this restaurant while vacationing with friends in Maui, all trying different fish dishes and all were equally pleased. It was a bit cloudy so the sunset wasn't as amazing as it could have been but we still took it all in and had a lovely evening. They had a live band inside which was a wonderful addition since we could hear the music softly while we enjoyed a nice conversation while sitting outside. Would definitely go back and highly recommend this restaurant to others.
Hostess was terrible. You only have one job to do -- and that is not to be grouchy!
Great food and atmosphere. Being able to watch the sunset was special. The chocolate cup dessert was great.
We like this restaurant. Great views when sitting outside.
Great views for sunset. We have always gone for lunch and Happy Hour, but decided to go for dinner to catch the view at sunset. It was just beautiful and we had the perfect table outside. The food is always good. My husband likes the Tandoori Salmon, he orders it every time. I've had the fish tacos, the crab sandwich, the burger and it's all good. Did I mention the Mai Tai? It was delicious!
Food was just “OK”. Service was not great. Served mussels, but did not provide bowl for mussel shells. Had to ask for bread that other tables received promptly. It seems that the ‘somewhat’ know chef who opened a second restaurant ...Gannon’s....has really not paid the appropriate attention to make the restaurant a success. The staff told us she is never there in the evening*, but is there for some lunches. Gannon’s is best for lunch, nice view while enjoying burger and a beer. It really is a ‘burger joint’.
This restaurant was recommended by local Hawaiian friend foodie. The menu did not disappoint.
Very accommodating to our dietary restrictions. Food was excellent! Service was exceptional!
Great fish! We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. The service was excellent. So glad we chose Gannon’s!
As always, amazing experience. Scallop Risitto is to die for!
This was the perfect dining experience to celebrate my birthday. Our waiter, Justin, was great, attentive without hovering, very soft spoken and polite. The cuisine was so imaginative and oh so tasty, my compliment to chef Gannon. The view was beautiful and table was located where there wasn't much noise as we dined. Love this place and will return, God willing.
I booked our Gannon's reservation online through open table, it was our honeymoon and we were really hoping to sit outside. I requested an outdoor table for a special occasion. We got there a few minutes late (the restaraunt needs to update their address on apple maps, it takes you to Mulligan's instead). The hostess put us in the back of the restaraunt by ourselves, no where near the patio. There were SEVERAL tables open next to the patio and when we asked if we could move she responded no. Besides the unaccomadating hostess the meal was delicious! Mu husband said it was the best steak he had ever had!
Senior trip for my daughter, and first time in Maui for her and my wife. The view of the sunset was amazing. The food was perfectly done. The lobster was the best I have ever tasted. The restaurant is pricey, but the atmosphere, the view, and the service were just what a special occasion called for.
We had an amazing dinner of fresh seafood prepared perfectly and the view was to die for.
Great view and pleasant surroundings. The seafood salad was excellent. A pleasant way to spend the last day of our vacation in Maui.
The food was fabulous and the service was outstanding. Our waiter Cody Swink is a gem. Staff like him makes the dining experience very
Perfect place to enjoy Maui sights
Great food. Good service. Good value
We will be back
We were looking forward to a nice dinner, but were extremely disappointed. The food was ok, the service was inexcusable.
Food is very pricey, but the view was outstanding. Food quality and taste was so-so. If we were asked if we would go back, we would say NO. While dining, a bus boy was clearing a table and later set up it was with new utensils. He dropped several utensils on the floor and just picked them up and continued setting the table with the utensils that fell on the floor. Several minutes later he came back and looked at the utensils and wiped several pieces with his bare hands after cleaning other dirty tables. These actions made us question if the restaurant was code-compliant. It also ruined our dinner. We were shocked and never expected to witness these actions.
I had never been to Gannon's before, and I thought is was great. I would highly recommend it.
