Since 1984, Gangadin is a restaurant considered by many to be the best Indian Restaurant in Los Angeles. They have been serving excellent and healthy Indian food for over 26 years in the same location. When you enter Gangadin you are in a place where spice, flavor and ambience takes over and delicious food is enjoyed. Gangadin is owned by Manmeet Sahni and his family. Manmeet takes pride in serving home style cooking. Every dish is cooked from scratch with no MSG, preservatives or animal fat added. "We specialize in outstanding, flavorful North Indian cuisine," says Manmeet, "including homemade and exotic curries, fresh baked breads from the hot Tandoor and meats marinated in delicate spices and herbs." Manmeet and the whole family is very active giving free samples and selling fresh sauces every Sunday at the Studio City Farmers Market on Ventura Place right in front of their restaurant.

Better than average food in a dated setting with lackluster service.

It was our first time at this restaurant. We only chose to make a reservation because of the OpenTable app recommendation. When we walked into an almost empty restaurant we were pleased and expected a warm greeting followed by above average service and attention. I figured they'd be happy to see customers on a slow night. Instead we were admonished for making our reservation via OpenTable instead of calling the restaurant directly since apparently there is a fee to the restaurant when we do this. I found this to be highly inappropriate especially in light of the fact that OpenTable was the reason we ended up there. And to openly chastise me was just out of line.

Our meal was good but not great. Their level of service was apathetic. Our water glasses weren't refilled unless we asked and there was no attempt at being pleasant or polite. They were mainly going through the motions. Too bad as I can tell there's definite talent in the kitchen.

Very good Indian food. Nice and spicy. Delish curries, lamb vindaloo, tikka masala is to die for. This is the second time we have been there and it is just great! Also make sure to make reservations as it's a small place and fills up fast

Gangadin is a beautiful little family run restaurant with great food and wonderful service. It has a nice atmosphere while still being casual and comfortable.

A small, local and crowded Indian restaurant with a strong following. The owner is very interesting and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food was excellent. We loved this place and will definitely return.

The best Indian restaurant in Los Angeles! Love the Reshmi chicken and Lamb Korma. All the food is beautifully prepared and delicious!!!

Gangadin has been generally good for many years. This last time, however, the food, and in particular the tandoori chicken, was fair at best. The service has never been great, but this last time it also worse than usual. I think the restaurant has been expanding it's take out business to point that it is negatively impacting the food and service for people who dine in. I hope things improve.

I don't get my points after dining here like it is supposed to on the opentable booking system! Why? This is a fault advertise!!

The food was only okay. For my money Taj Mahal in Encino is far superior with regard to the food. Ambiance was better in Gangatin but all else was equal except for the food which is, of course, most important. I recommend Taj Mahal for its excellent food.
