   Worst eggplant parm ever!!! Cappers salad had 3 slices of tomato and a few miniature pieces of mozzarella.

   Came on a Sunday evening so they were not busy. Service attentive and friendly. Standard Italian restaurant fare which was reasonably well executed. Pasta was al dente with correct amount of sauce. Garlic bread homemade and not too salty. Tiramisu creamy and not too sweet. Portions adequate for most appetites. Decor dated with chequered table cloths and posters of Italy, opera playing quietly in the background. All in all, a traditional North American Italian family restaurant not trying to be a trendy hipster bar/trattoria. Made me nostalgic for my first childhood restaurant meals. I would return if in the neighborhood.

   It started off well when they denied that we had a reservation. I showed them the return from OpenTable and they said they had shut it off. As to the food, when it actually showed up (we were seated at 7:30 but the food did not come until 9 o’clock) two of the meals were good, one wasn’t bad but was remarkably basic (with extra charges — $3 for rapini to some small medallions of chicken ) and no pasta because they couldn’t provide an allergy free one despite advertising that they have gluten-free. The last meal was not finished because of the concern about the off taste.

   Having been a long term customer of Gamberoni's, I was surprised how the quality has slid. It used to be a stable local restaurant that we would go to for special occaisions or "just because". The old restaurant across the road had much better atmosphere, but that's the past. As we hadn't been to the new location in a few years, and my mother who had been there recentlly, we decided to retry an old favourite. It was a Friday night, not too late and yet many items on the menu they were out of. The boards too had red tape across familiar menu items, but clearly no long available. The tape was old so clearly the menu items were no longer available for quite some time. The decor looks like the transplanted a few items from the old restaurant, painted a new mural, and then stopped. Perhaps the move from across the street was hasty and they will someday complete the decor. Most importantly, the food. Uninspired, lacking the basics of salt and pepper. Definately not the food they were know for. My food didn't fully meet expectations. The veal was good, the pasta was supposed to be linguine Crostaceo, it was spaghetti from what I could tell, round not flat. While it was hot, it was lacking seasoning unfortunately. The shrimps placed overtop the veal I'm guessing were precooked, too bad, that never would have happened before. Probably the biggest complaint, when a customer chooses an 8oz glass of wine, they expect 8 oz, not 5 oz in a big glass. At $20 for the wine and the meal being $30, it was an extremely poor POUR. Another person's Fettuccine Salmone was so overcooked, the pasta would't roll around the fork. The sauce was bland too and really to much sauce for the pasta. Dessert, oh yeah they were out of that item, but the large table beside us who ordered afterwards got the "last slice" The other dessert was forgotten about and only arrived after our coffees were finished. Hmmmmmm, not a good sign on so many items.

   We had an excellent evening at Gamberoni. Their new restaurant is much more spacious than the previous location on the west side of Yonge St and therefore more comfortable. The menu offered an excellent range of alternatives and was supplemented further by daily specials. the food was tasty, the portions were ample, and the service was excellent. highly recommend this restaurant!

   I have frequented this restaurant on many occasions and I have never been disappointed. Quality of food is excellent. Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating with any dietary restrictions. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.

   Unfortunately, we had a rather poor experience , although our waitress was friendly and helpful. The bread was stale, the salad consisted of a plate of lettuce, with two slices of cucumber and two small tomato wedges, with a tasteless dressing. My shrimp was overcooked and my husband’s chicken parmigiana was a very small sized portion. This was very pricey for such a disappointing meal. We will not be returning.

    Always a favorite. Great food. Same atmosphere as their old location just a bit bigger. Service this time was less than desirable as we waited almost 30 minutes before someone came by to ask if we wanted anything for dessert or coffee. Usually much better service than this.
