Great ambiance, food was ok, clearly under-staffed so things were a bit slow, but super pleasant staff. Good vibe, music, setting!

We were seated by the friendly host and could not get service for 15+ minutes despite requesting two bus boys to notify our server politely. We were so hungry we informed her to fire everything together. Tartare, Pescatore, sides, and Mexican cocktails were fine. Booth seating was homely. Beyond that the pumping club music really detracted from the ambiance, which was set to uncompromisingly dark. Our food runner was more friendly and professional than the stoic server. He was great. Next door’s Antique Garage’s been my staple for years as a native and will most likely return there; a more congested floor plan (think: you & your neighbors are side-by-side and will hear everything) but the ambiance and music level’s a step up in authenticity and class. This is Mercer St (not Jersey City). It seems management does not wish to heed the other reviewers on here. Ciao ciao.

I had modest expectations but overall even those were not met. They did call me when I left my phone behind so points for that. Furniture was worn out, restaurant could use a facelift. Emphasis placed on a very trendy neon sign I imagine is there to distract from very average food and experience. Fungi pasta sauce was watery instead of creamy. Shrimp overcooked in my date's dish. Tuna tartare was good but they should either serve less tartare or more bread with it. Tried the Bourbon Street drink and it was terrible. Overall I've had worse but I would not return. I went on a Monday evening so maybe they put on a better dinner service on weekends.

My boyfriend and I went here for Easter Sunday and I think the food was ok- we both had chicken parm with penne pasta. He thought the pasta was bad and it came cold (for both of ours) but we both liked the chicken. The portion size of the pasta was not enough and did not fill us up. The amount of food in the Instagram pictures did not look the same as it did on our plates. I drank Pinot noir wine and he had a modelo beer, my wine was ok I’ve had better else where. Overall I think it was a bit too pricey for the kind of food they served us. But I did like the sign they had where I took some pictures at.

Galli is always a great time. Delicious food, friendly staff, energetic atmosphere. Great spot for a fun night out or a date night.

Great location, decor, food, drinks, and service. We loved sitting in the back under the glass ceiling. The music was not too loud for a meal with friends - but maybe a bit much for a family/romantic dinner.

Like other reviewers, we found the music way too loud. The worst thing was that the restaurant did not properly check us in with opentable even though we were on time, told the greeter we had an opentable reservation and the greeter acknowledged that we had a reservation. I contacted them the next day when opentable said we were a no show. I spoke with the restaurant manager. He said he’d look into it and call me back. That never happened forcing me to wait through over 20 prior callers to get to the help desk so I could get credit.

We’re first ones there for brunch. No coffee for first 30 minutes. They didn’t appear ready for customers. Food that finally came was terrible. Had to walk out.
