We had a great experience at Galley and Garden, the first time we've visited. We had a group of eight celebrating my 98 year old mother's birthday,and we all thoroughly enjoyed the meal and dining experience. Our primary server was John G, and he was very personable and attentive, making sure that everything arrived in a timely manner. The rhythm was pretty near perfect. All of the staff coordinated their actions well. The food tasted great, and we were all happy with our meals and dessert. They also have a very good wine list, reasonably priced. Overall I'd have to say that our experience was pretty near impeccable. I'm looking forward to going back as soon as possible.

The Shrimp and Stone Ground Grits were very fulfilling and appetizing. Everything was portioned perfectly! Also, the Fries Green Tomatoes were a hit.

We truly enjoyed our visit to Galley and Garden. Our server George was very polite and professional, all the food arrived quickly and we enjoyed everything we had. We had the lobster pimento fried green tomatoes, the salmon and scallops as entrees and the banana pudding for dessert. We ate dinner early before a show so the restaurant was quiet. We appreciate the ambiance of the restaurant as well. We'd definitely come back--event the valets were friendly and kind! Highly recommend.

The food was absolutely incredible. I had the southern pickled shrimp and lobster squid ink ravioli. I was so thrilled to see both on the menu, as I haven't seen either the pickled shrimp or any kind of squid ink pasta since I moved to Birmingham. The food was well-presented and flavorful, the ambiance was perfect, and they made sure we felt celebrated for our anniversary! Can't wait to go back!

Most of our experience was very good. The service was great. We loved sitting in the patio but I ordered chicken and waffles and the chicken was obviously straight out of the frozen section at Sams. Very disappointing considering the amount of money they were charging. The rest of the food was pretty good but I won’t go back to pay those prices for that chicken.

We normally love this restaurant but if you are doing keto or even diabetic there is really nothing on the brunch menu to eat that does not have sugar in it. We had to end up leaving.

Beautiful ambiance (a cold draft from air duct cost one star). Wonderful service, seated us promptly even though we were early for our reservation; 4-star service rating due to the few times I had to request a refill of my water glass. The food was delicious as usual. My husband always orders their salmon, because he likes it too much to even try another entree. He also enjoyed the onion soup du jour. I splurged on The Stack and was not disappointed. The crab cake may have been the best I’ve ever tasted. As to dessert, for me, Galley & Garden’s banana pudding is the best dessert in Birmingham, possibly the best anywhere, and as usual my husband ordered and enjoyed it. I, however, was tempted by the “special” red velvet cake, which seemed a bit dry, thus the 4-star rating for the food. Nevertheless, we always have a beautiful dining experience at Galley & Garden, and will return soon and often.

This was our first time here & for sure we will be back!! Excellent service, menu & wine list. Everything was outstanding! Perhaps the only negative was it was kind of noisy due to a group in the room across the hall & the lighting is not perfect. The overhead light shines more on one side of the table so I had to use my phone flashlight, so my friend seated across from my husband & I, could see her menu.

The wine list was extensive, and had a lot of great options. Half bottles available too which is rare. I did not like the food offerings so much. It didn't feel like there was enough value for what we were getting. I will go back when the menu changes.

Our reservation was for 8 and the moment we walked in we were awkwardly rushed. The waiter told us the kitchen closed at 8:30 and she was being yelled at to hurry us up. Overall disappointed. The staff was so outrageously bad I’m not sure what the food tasted like.

The food and service was great. For appetizers we had the fried oysters and fried green tomatoes. Both were good but I preferred the fried green tomatoes. I don’t care for pimento cheese but the pimento sauce on the fried green tomatoes hit jut right. The lobster ravioli was delicious, definitely worth trying. The portion size of each course was perfect, just enough. We ended the night with bourbon pecan bread pudding & key lime pie. The key lime will have you begging for more.

We arrived and once we were seated in the bar area we began hearing this piercing noise that continued throughout our dinner. There was a lady set up by the bar and she was engraving glassware with a dremel. This lasted for one hour and 45 minutes which was the entire length of our dinner. We complained and nothing was done. They did not volunteer to relocate us to a quieter area of the restaurant. This is a beautiful restaurant with phenomenal food. I just hate our quiet evening away from kids was interrupted by a constant noise of a dremel engraving glasses.

Very disappointed with this visit. Waitress was rude and argumentative, food was cold, and charging everyone $4 for bringing in your own favorite Birthday cake was tacky. On top of all this, the waitress cut the cake into eight huge wedges, one for each of us. None of us could eat this much cake, so we had to throw much of it away. Someone did ask for a to-go box to take their piece home, and again, we all received a very rude attitude. Normally not like this, but this was a horrific visit.

Food was good, not bad, but not amazing. The service made our experience not good at all. We sat, ordered drinks and appetizers and we had eaten our appetizers when our first drink showed up 45 minutes into our dinner. The tables next to us had the same kind of experience. One table asked if the had a waitress 20 minutes into there sit. We had to get the guy pouring waters to help find our waitress and get our drinks. Really like this place so hopefully it comes down to the server.
