Consistently an excellent venue for dinner. Dining at Galley and Garden makes for a special evening.
Specialty drinks were great.
Lobster risotto , Shrimp & grits were perfect.
Spinach salad - egg over cooked, bland dressing.
Short ribs - tough, short on flavor. Disappointed that the grits with short ribs appeared to be same as on shrimp appetizer.
I had the oysters for starters, and the beef short ribs for my entree. It was delicious. The ambience was amazing. The service was outstanding, and I enjoyed my conversation with the bartender, Adam. I definitely recommend
I had taken my boyfriend there for his birthday. And the food was delicious (the lamb shoulder was awesome ) my waiter vivus was very charismatic and knowledgeable about the entire menu and very attentive!! They made his day very special!!
Great ambience spoiled by way too much backgound and room noise. Very difficult to carry on a conversation with just 2 people sitting across the table from one another. The food was very good with the only challenge resulting from a beef filet that was so sub-par that I have no idea how a piece of meat of such poor quality managed to enter the restaurant, and then it was served to a customer? We did learn a few things that would help with a second visit but the first impression of this restaurant was not what it should have been. OUr Server (Umar) was outstanding and we will definitely make a request for him should we decide to return.
Lovely meal. Loved the quiet but not sedate ambiance. Excellent food and delicious cocktails!
Wonderful service and fabulous food. Our party was a busy group, and the staff was super friendly and patient.
Awesome outdoor dining for spring time weather.
I enjoyed brunch today. The ambience was amazing. Adam provided excellent service, and we had great conversation. The food was delicious. I had the fried grouper for starters, and I had the mushroom scramble for the main course. Yum yum.
Our server was so knowledgable in his presentation of the menu and the food was superb.
This was my second time dining at the establishment. I felt like I was being rushed through my dining experience and the food was just mediocre. Probably will not be back.
Stan and Trae are the best in the business
My husband and I went for my birthday dinner. Upon pulling up, the location was adorable and had a great atmosphere. When we entered inside it realer of natural gas. My husband immediately made a comment and they reassured us they had corrected the gas issue. They lead us upstairs and we sat in a quiet room, the fun atmosphere had vanished. We ordered 2 appetizers that were not tasty, the fried oysters and risotto. When our meals arrived, we did enjoy our steak and salmon. My husband ordered me a birthday dessert, the hot molten chocolate cake, it arrived like warm on the colder side.
Overall I would definitely not recommend this place. The food, atmosphere and price was way overpriced for subpar experience. Very disappointed I spent my birthday dinner here.
The food and service were good. My complaint was the martini. The glass was less than half full. When I asked for a 2nd and mentioned it, I got a nice martini for twice the price. $20. 🙁
Excellent service and great conversation with the bartender, Michael. My meal was delicious. See you guys next Sunday.
Always a favorite when we visit Birmingham to see our family!
The best meal in Birmingham over the past year, and I’ve eaten at Highlands twice in the past three months. G&G was terrific. Ready to go back.
Food was outstanding but overpriced, our waitress was flawless and very knowledgeable of the taste of the menu. Nice and quiet. Soft music and easy atmosphere.
Awesome as always!!!
Just a personal preference but I wish the seating wasn’t so close together. It would be hard to have any sort of private conversation unless you are in a booth.
Excellent as always!
Great service, fantastic food! Nice decor - booths so you felt secluded if that was your desire or tables with comfy chairs. Well stocked bar. Fantastic wine selection.
Best restaurant in Birmingham, period. And that's a lot to say.
Wonderful food, great serve staff, so sweet offering us a birthday candle and amazing dessert to go with it.
Excellent food and service, highly recommended Trey as a waiter.
Food was a little disappointing. Very good wine list. Nice ambiance.
Honestly, a bit disappointing. We had dinner here the Friday after Valentine's Day. We checked the menu the week of online before making reservations. No mention was made that the menu would be changed and paired down for the entire weekend to accommodate 'Valentines' day. The entree my wife had picked out online was not available on the paired down menu selection. She ended up choosing the steak, medium to medium well. It was brought out rare. We didn't see a waitress for 10 minutes once food arrived, and by the time they checked on us, corrected it, and brought it back, everything else was cold. We chose to end the meal with dessert, and ordered the special molten chocolate lava cake. Apparently, they had been cooked the day before and refrigerated. It was brought out cold. No lava. Not even warm. This restaurant typically impresses. Quiet, date night atmosphere with excellent food and drinks. This was just not the case this evening.
Hostess didn't seem to know we had reservations, and had to scramble to get us a table. Told our waiter on our way upstairs that he had us as his table and he reacted very angrily to her in front of us saying he didn't want it and to give it to someone else, that he was too busy . We saw our waiter maybe three times throughout our meal that took 3 hours. We will not be going back.
Great Valentines Pre Fixe menu. Superb service as always. Fresh ingredients prepared very well. Desert course was a little lackluster. Molten cake tasted like it was reheated and was served slightly under temperature.
Valentine’s preset menu was not worth it. Salmon and grouper for 3 of the 4 of us, was fishy.
Had a great Valentine's dinner, the service was excellent as always.
We were there for Valentine's Day. The first and second courses were perfect. For the third course, we had the filet mignon. We both ordered them cooked medium. They were cooked very different--one medium, one nearly rare. By the time our waiter came to see if they were cooked correctly, they were stone cold and we had eaten what we could of them because we were crunched for time. The atmosphere was perfect, but the main course sullied the experience.
It was great customer service from our waitress! It’s pricey but it is great quality food! I strong don’t agree with the question being ask how the noise level was! That shouldn’t be one of the questions, that is rude and shouldn’t be asked that! Period because I feel very offended, if I brought my child to that place would you still asked that even tho I paid 200 dollars for a meal!!
Outstanding food and service
GO. GO. GO. GO. GO! Our favorite restaurant in this city of great restaurants. The food is superb, the wine list is spectacular, and the ambience is spot on! If you go, request Tre to be your server. I have never dined with his equal, even at 5 diamond and Michelin rated restaurants!
Great Valentines Day dinner. Food was great and service excellent
Fantastic Brunch. Pricing is fair. Service was fantastic and precise. Will be back!
Sunday Brunch, it was great! More than willing to accommodate a no hamburger bun preference for an awesome cheeseburger. Fried oysters were delicious and imaginatively plated. Cheesecake dessert was excellent. We will definitely dine here again.
Courteous friendly staff. Delicious food!
