Galletto Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
This was an amazing meal!!! I had not been able to go since summer and the menu has changed for the fall. I had the Galletto salad with the anchovies. It was marvelous as usual. Then the Lamb Shank. It was so tender I needed no knife and the sauce was rich and comforting. Great Brussels sprouts too (which I don’t usually like). Wonderful night out.
Was in town for business. Drove past Galetto’s when checking out the area near the hotel. It looked nice, so I made a reservation. The building had been a bank. I liked everything about the experience. The environment, the lighting and music were great as was the food and service. An unexpected find in Modesto.
Family get together with 10 people from California, Wisconsin and Florida and everyone enjoyed the food and experience. It happened to be veterans day weekend and they had a special thanks for two of us who served the country. Many thanks for a wonderful evening.
My friend and I made reservations for a pre-theatre dinner and belated birthday celebration, and chose Galletto's as it had been a long time since we'd been there and we were curious to see what, if anything, had changed.
We were treated to complimentary champagne and customized menus! What a delight. The Misto Fristo recipe has changed (all for the better in my opinion) and our salads and entrees were excellent. In the past I would have rated the food as a B- this time it was an A, and I will be back sooner than later. Thank you so much for such a great experience. You wowed us!
Galletto is a nice place to dine. It's very comfortable and classy with a nice bar area as well. The food is always good, but we always seem to wait too long for our waiter, bread, drinks, etc. We weren't in a hurry, but it was definitely too long of a wait for a night that wasn't crowded. I do like the ambiance of the restaurant, but it was actually so dark we had to hold our menus by the candle in order to read it. We will return, but if we were eating before a performance at Gallo and had to leave by a certain time, I would recommend a different place.
I had an amazing night with my lady. From the moment we walked in on that door to the moment we left. It was just beautiful, amazing. The service was great and so was our food. They made it the perfect date for me and my lady. We recently moved in to a city near by riverbank from hayward in the bayarea. And this is me and my old ladys first time celebrating her birthday together. Living under the same roof so i wanted to take her somewhere special and this spot was just the perfect place. Thank you
Friendly welcome, seated quickly a few minutes ahead of our reservation. Waiter professional in spite of not having English as his first language. Foies gras excellent, beet salad very poor and both entre very good(lasagna and short rib pasta special). No dessert. Great atmosphere. Probably the nicest restaurant between Fresno and Stockton. Wonderful ambience.
We had a terrific meal. My husband had the halibut and it was very good. I had the gluten free margarita pizza. The flavor was great, wish it had been a bit warmer. Not sure if it sat for a bit or if the sauce was put on chilled. The service was just fantastic. She was super friendly and very efficient. I am sure if I mentioned the pizza she would have made sure it was warmer up, but I was hungry so didn’t send it back. Second time here, really like this restaurant!
Love the decor, service was good, food was good......but not spectacular....on the expensive side, nice place to,have dinner before a show at the Gallo....
We have also tried the happy hour a different night and it was really good and on the Good, price range...
One of the best meals we've had in a while. We brought our own wine. $20 corkage fee but they waive that if you buy one of their bottles of wine. So our friends bought a white to go with salads and appetizers and we brought the red for our entrees. Perfect! The entire staff was helpful. And we didn't feel rushed. We got to enjoy our entire dinner before going to Gallo.
The caprese salad was wonderful. My husband had the ribeye steak and it was cooked perfectly to his specifications. I had the seafood fettucini and it was very good. Only slight negative is that is was so loud in there that we could barely have a conversation and kept having to repeat ourselves. The waiter even misunderstood part of the order as he couldn't hear us well. Been here many times so I think it was our seat location. We will definitely be back as the food and service are always great
Terrible experience. Staff was very slow to react to mistakes out of the kitchen. In the end they appropriately took ownership of the problems. It was unfortunate. I've been there before and not experienced such bad service and had such issues out of the kitchen.
We arrived early for our reservation but were seated immediately. Planned to have a drink at the bar but having it at the table was just as good. We had salads and entrees which were excellent but sadly, no room for dessert. Service was highly attentive by several different personnel in addition to our main server who orchestrated service. Pricing is reasonable for food and drink. We'll definitely be back.
I'v often dined here over the years but have never left a review until now. Overall, it is a lovely looking restaurant, housed in an old bank, with high ceilings and comfortable dining areas, both booths and freestanding tables. The food can be hit and miss at times; often we are told that certain items aren't available or have been replaced with other items. Example, yesterday, no mozzarella for the the caprese salad so substituted a different soft cheese. Not a big deal, but when it happens regularly one begins to notice. Meals are usually good, but service is the main challenge. Yesterday's was slow, even though few people were there when we were dining. I like the place, but more attention to detail of service is needed to be extra special.
The food was phenomenal - I had the Duck Breast which was cooked to perfection. It was fork tender with a beautifully crisp skin. The lasagna was delectably cheesy and the Bolognese had an authentic Italian flavor. We finished with a fresh peach dessert and Gelato - delicious! Galletto's is very reliable with fantastic seasonal fare.
