Husband 35th Birthday the food was amazing I made reservations using open today and specified it was a Birthday and the staff surprised my husband with a cake and a birthday song. I wish I knew you had to call ahead for the tomahawk steak but other than that the food the staff and the presentation was amazing.
Wonderful meal and exceptional service. We shared the shrimp and lobster dumplings which had the perfect hint of spice to them. Then we shared a wedge salad and had the fillet with bone marrow crust and stuffed jumbo shrimp. All the dishes were memorable. Managed to save room for dessert so we shared the cheesecake. It was superb.
Amazing food. Meal is great and service at the perfect level.
Wine list could definitely improve and wines pricing is not right for the value
But Overall great experience!
Definitely on my top3 Steakhouses in Manhattan
Birthday celebration was fantastic! Wonderful experience!
The food and service were beyond wonderful. Our only minor complaint is the noise level. Not bothersome enough to keep us from returning.
Great food, great service, as always.
Excellent food and service, a great place to eat. I highly recommend this neighborhood gem
We like this place and have been there several times. This time the filet was tough and seriously charred for a med-rare temp. The mashed potato was cold and tasteless. We were there for our anniversary and won’t be doing that again. Way too loud and the seating between tight tables is just not for an anniversary dining experience and we thought giving a heads up about our special occasion would help with better seating. Not good enough for special occasions. Business dining maybe.
Attentive service. Huge portions even though we shared a few things. Steak prepared perfectly
As always a delightful meal with fantastic service. Our service team of Gianni and Brian were great making us feel welcome and spending time to make sure our meal was all it should be. The food was fabulous as always served with just the right timing.
We had reservations for post theater and the theater was across the street. We were 10 minutes early and were seated right away. It was not very crowded, we were greeted by a server but then our server seemed to have changed as we had a new one that we did not see for 10 minutes. (late on a Saturday evening, I guess they cut a server loose). He arrived and seemed edgy, as if we were keeping him and he was tired. We ordered a bottle of wine and two salads to start. Our salads and bread came way before the bottle of wine, we were not offered fresh ground pepper for our salads, and as we were close to the kitchen we could see our waiter doing his side work. We ordered our steaks when the wine came. The our server's two team members were much more attentive and helpful most of the evening, in fact they were excellent. At one point he must have gotten his work done because he suddenly became the waiter we had expected for the price we were paying. We ordered dessert and finished our bottle of wine. All of the food was excellent and I would probably go back/recommend but not after the theater.
Had a solid time, here.
Great food. Service was excellent.
Wine list was a little soft and could use some better representatives of Pacific Northwest wines, but we certainly found something we could dig into. Most people won't care about that sort of thing, but omitting offerings from one of the nation's strongest wine regions doesn't make a lot of sense, for a top shelf steakhouse.
Seating was a little snug. Moving the tables to get folks through was a little cumbersome. Maybe it speaks to the popularity of the place, but sometimes a little less might be a more.
best steak I have ever had. would recommend it to everyone
Busy busy on a Saturday night, but everything seemed under control. It's all about the steaks.
A delicious meal with top notch wait staff. The steak was cooked to perfection. A very enjoyable evening.
Perfect Filet mignon, awesome mushroom garlic sauce. A little pricey but worth it!
Great food and service
I was really excited to visit Gallagher's as I've heard great things about their steaks. I was beyond disappointed that three out of six steaks came out inaccurately cooked - rare was medium well, medium was very rare in the middle, etc. I expected more, especially for the money. The sides and service were stellar but I'm not inclined to return. The noise level also gets ridiculous as the restaurant fills up.
Welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable staff serving great, well prepared food. Highly recommend!
Lovely for after dinner.
My daughter and I went to Gallagher's for lunch before a show. The service was very good and the food was great. Although it is a steakhouse, the food was surprising light and very tasty. We enjoyed our meal very much.
Food and service were of the highest quality. The seating and ambiance were very comfortable. The wait staff is extremely attentive to the needs of the diners. Wonderful experience!!
Great!! Amazing dinner. Everything top
The service was incredible and so was the food. The waiter was extremely friendly and efficient, and the filet mignon and mac and cheese were both amazing!
Bustling atmosphere, carts being shuttled to and fro with beautiful dishes, chefs behind glass laboring over a mountain of red-hot charcoal. Our waiter, whom we later found out was a former soap star, was very genteel and knowledgeable. At his suggestion, I tried West Coast oysters, tasty and less briny than East Coast. The French onion soup was excellent, an explosion of beef, marsala, and onion about as good as I have ever tasted. I finished with the special of the evening, a bone-in Kansas City 16 ounce masterpiece. My daughter had the chicken, which, as our waiter said, was selected and cooked to match the quality of the steaks. It did. My wife had the prime rib, also superb. Sides were ample and tasty. As high-end steakhouses go, I would compare this one to Keen's as far as overall satisfaction goes, with a nod to Keen's for the mutton and quieter atmosphere, and a nod to Gallagher's for the "extra mile" of volunteering to save my daughter's leftovers until we returned from a musical a few hours later.
The food and service were excellent. Perfectly cooked steaks, delicious sides, and excellent specials that we're not on the menu.
Our server Frank was the best, made us feel like we were having dinner as guests in his house. Great humor, professional and witty. Prices are higher than need be but portions are solid. It’s an established steakhouse that you should checkout.
Good price fixed menu
Delicious, high quality cuts of meats. Speaking as a tourist, but feel like we made the right choice!
Very nice restaurant but laid back too. Our waiter was great and funny. The steaks are big so we split a 14 oz filet, a chopped salad and two sides. Every thing tasted amazing!
Wonderful people. Amazing food and drinks.
It didn't start out so great . We got there at 4:30 for our reservation and we were seated right away. It took 20 mins and us stopping another waiter to even get water. A really Rocky start! We had theater tickets for 7 pm and didn't want to have to rush through dinner! The waiter did come over quickly after that and did apologise but still the service wasn't what we had experienced here in the past. The food was as good as it always is! It was just a bad start. Everything else went great!!
One of the best steaks we have ever had. Everything is a la carte, but the servings are generous; important to keep in mind when ordering sides.
We enjoyed a superb meal here. Service was outstanding, As I enjoy steak but never eat more than a few ounces, there was no question when we asked to split an entree’. Staff even sang a happy anniversary wish to us. We will return regularly when we ar in New York.
Fabulous food and service. Great for pre theater lunch or dinner. Enjoyed with a friend. Nice $29 lunch menu
This was a birthday treat as part of a five day trip to New York. What a restaurant! Superb food and our server James was a complete hoot (fun). He made us feel like old friends, was incredibly attentive without being overbearing. We skipped appetisers and went straight to the mains. I had the 14oz fillet and my wife had the New York sirloin. Both cooked to perfection and seasoned properly.
I recommend Gallagher's to anyone looking for a special steakhouse. And thanks again James!
Très cool moment en famille ils sont en plus très gentils avec les enfants. Nourriture excellente et addition salée mais ça vaut le détour !
Fantastic meal with great service
Celebrated my birthday! Had a great time! Its such a great resturant! Great food and great staff! The ribsteak is one of my favorite steaks ever!
