My wife and I enjoyed a nice dinner of surf & turf and NY steak. The cuts of meat were quite large and even at 1.5 inches thick, they were perfectly cooked and excellent taste. The lobster was 1 1/2 pounds and perfectly steamed, tender. The waitress shelled it in front of us with precision. A great job!
Overall, this is a great place to celebrate an event. They are pricey and very loud, but it's a good value.
If I compare them to a Ruth's Chris, I would choice Ruth's Chris for steak.
I made a reservation for my wife’s birthday. When I checked in I was told “I’m sorry, we don’t do birthdays”. My baked potatoe was undercooked and I couldn’t find my waiter to let him know. I expect better service for their price point. My steak was very good.
Gallagher's is an institution. We were really looking forward to experiencing great steak. The service was mostly friendly, but our waiter was cocky and too interested in becoming an insult comic. Most of the food was pretty good, but while the beef was okay, it wasn't cooked quite correctly. Too raw in the middle, while properly done or a bit over outside. Which suggests it was cooked too quickly at too high a heat. Which is interesting because...
The biggest problem was that it took over an hour from when we placed the order for our main course to come out, and the waiter was pretty snotty about that. The appetizers arrived quickly, but the delay between was pretty bad.
Possibly the long delay was due to CES. The waiter's attitude shouldn't have been though.
Reservation at 6:45 ( two of four there at 6:45 and remaining two came at 6:55 ). The hostess said since we all arrived “so long” after my reservation (10mins), we would only have 2 hrs to dine. Two hours is plenty of time and we didnt feel rushed, but that did not start the meal off well.
As expected the good was good. My rib eye was flavorful and the asparagus was tender. What made this an exceptional visit was our server. Sam made our experience, he was on top of requests and was very personable. I'd go back just to be served by Sam.
Why in the world would you serve a traditional New York strip steak with a pepper on top? Why you shouldn’t mention that in the first place? It is the first time that happens in one of the famous Gallagher’s restaurant and that caused to repeat the order from the beginning with the inevitable waiting time associated with the preparation of the meat which was burnt on the outside at some places when Serbs half an hour later... I had a good memory of this restaurant, but it is not the case anymore.
Our server Sam originally from NY was a real gent he new the menu well and advised us on all aspects without trying to oversell it.
Steaks were great and cooked to perfection.
Only downside the seats should have been wiped clean before seating us we had to try thee before finding a clean one.
Had dinner here. Went several years ago and had a good experience. This experience was just as good. Great casual atmosphere. A little noisy, but that just adds to the atmosphere. Our waiter, Bobby was great. Service in general, was very good. We had the Cowboy Ribeye (excellent) and the New York Strip (very good). For sides we had Asparagus (excellent) and onion rings (good). Prices are very expensive - especially for wine, but that is typical of restaurants on the Strip. Overall, we were very happy with our dinner and experience and would recommend to friends and go again in the future.
We were a party of 8 for New Year's Eve Dinner at New York New York prior to the Vegas Hotels Fireworks Display at Midnight. We were seated in a back room area ( which definitely did not have the ambiance of the main restaurant seating area), but at least it was comfortable and quiet enough so our conversations were not drowned out by the crowd noise of other dining guests. The food was excellent , but expensive. Our waiter was personable and attentive. However, we should have been offered at least a beverage on the house or some other form of acknowledgement as compensation/recognition for their inability to provide some of the menu selections we chose. That's the " down-side" of a restaurant automatically including an 18 1/2 % Gratuity. I would have reduced the gratuity slightly to indicate our disappointment.
Have been to Gallagher’s numerous times - the most recent have been the most disappointing. This past New Years Eve was likely our last time. We arrived for our reservation at 8pm and were told immediately the things they were out of. The New Years Eve menu was limited and the prices were inflated. The servings were smaller. The staff were not on the ball - and because we were a group of 8, an automatic service/gratuity was included on our bill. Felt like they used New Years Eve to take advantage of their customers, which felt wrong at an already normally high priced restaurant.
The restaurant raised their prices for New Year's Eve. They charged $25 for shrimp cocktail and $70 for an 8 oz Filet Mignon (normally $18 and $46). The shrimp were on the tough side and didn't have much taste (they did d-vein them properly at least). One would also expect a restaurant that charges $70 for an 8 oz filet would have cooks than knew how to cook the steak correctly the first time. My grandson ordered a filet medium-rare and I ordered one medium. His came out rare and mine came out well done. The server recognized the error immediately and took them back and ordered new steaks. I was impressed that the kitchen cooks re-orders quickly. My second steak came out correctly, but my grandson's came out rare once again. They took the steak back, and when they returned, they brought back the same steak (cut in half). That is very un-classy, especially when they are charging $70. We eat at high-end steak houses very often and I have never seen this practice. My grandson was tired of complaining. He ate some of the steak and said it didn't taste right. I tried a bite and thought it tasted like it had fermented. The manager was very apologetic and paid for both steaks plus offered us desert on the house. She also said she has already scolded the cooks and she agreed charging $70 should mean they know what they are doing. We still tipped the server based on the full price of the meal. He did a good job.
I have always had a good experience at Gallager's, but this was a horrible experience. I had to order my grandson some food from room service since he was still hungry. I doubt we will ever return. It's a shame since we are locals and we love our steak houses.
So disappointed with the customer service this time. We’ve been coming to Vegas routinely for the past 10 years and always look forward to eating at Gallagher’s. We were 20 Min late for our reservation due to road closures and unexpected pedestrian detours. When we arrived there was a line of customers at the door waiting to be seated while the 2 hostesses were preoccupied with the NYE hats. When we got to the hostess stand we were told our table has been given away and there was no more availability for the night. Luckily the restaurant next to them was very accommodating offering us a table and discount despite being packed. Will not eat at Gallagher’s again but have definitely found a new great place to dine right next door.
This is a great place to go for special occasions. The menu is limited but everything is very good. The steaks are outstanding and the side dishes are large portions. It is a bit expensive but worth it for a special night out.
