Gallagher's Steak House - Atlantic City Ratings and Reviews
What another great experience at Gallagher's. The steaks we all cooked to perfection and very tasty. My Porterhouse was flavorful, tender and large. The NY Prime with the bone in was huge and cooked medium rare to perfection. The crispy onion straws and mushrooms were excellent. The only disappointment was the creamed spinach, which was sub par.
Two criticisms - too many very young children and crying babies. It was after 8PM yet there were several babies and young children who were crying and miserable that really were disturbing. They do not belong in a restaurant like this one. The other issue is the dress of some of the patrons. A dress code is needed. The prices are too high for people who are appropriately dressed to have folks in flip flops, T-shirts and shorts that belong on a beach in a restaurant like this one. The servers and bus boys were professional and excellent at their jobs and the food was great but some of the other diners looked like and acted like McDonald's patrons.
This particular visit was for my son's 20th birthday & I'm never disappointed when I visit. We were treated warmly, with smiles, taken promptly to our table and attended to immediately. The food was superb, the wait short but we never felt rushed. This is our "go to" place for delicious meals and lasting memories. Thank you for never letting us down!
Gallagher's was the best! I went to 4 local wonderful steak houses during our honeymoon. i have been to Gallagher's in the past, but not in several years. i remember them being wonderful. But as we all know, things change. I had filet mignon at 3 places including Gallagher's, and a porterhouse at one. to be completely fair, the first 3 steakhouses were good. in some places the service was even great. But in the end, it wasn't even a contest. Gallagher's ambiance, service, attention to detail, timing (never felt rushed), and THE FOOD!!! Amazing does not begin to cover it. Gallagher's was the best on every level. I cook Filet at home at least twice a month for the family, and they love it. Gallagher's Steak was just as good. cut like butter, perfectly cooked, not crispy on the outside, the demi glaze to die for. I rarely leave reviews, who has time for that right? But, i wanted everyone to know, that as a former Chef, a pretty fair home cook still, and a discerning palate still, GALLAGHER'S was and still is THE BEST!!!
After checking with hostess, we were seated within 5 minutes. Our table was out front, not inside of the restaraunt which initially had me a bit uneasy. It was early, 6pm and we were hungry so I did not ask for different seating. Luckily it was rather quiet at that time. Almost felt like we were on display and if it was loud seating would be horrible there. Server was very nice and offered good menu advice. Bus staff and expediter were pleasant and attentive. Finished dishes were removed in a timely manner.
For starter we had shrimp cocktails, hard to screw up. They were well chilled and cleaned. A good start. I ordered the cowboy ribeye and it was cooked as ordered and very good. My wife had the special and hers was as well. We had no desert or coffee, I would have but the seating outside was subpar in my opinion, and we were ready to hit the casino.
The staff and food would definitely have us returning. Overall a good meal, I would dine there again. The attention of the staff was the saving grace of our experience.
Everything about this restaurant was first class. The service was the best I've ever had they were kind , polite and attentive. I had the prime rib king cut that was cooked well and very tasty. My wife had the filet and shrimp which was also cooked to perfection. Would recommend Gallagher's to all my friends and family. Can't wait to return first class all the way.
We go to AC once a year in June. One of our usual stops is at Gallagher's Steak House. We usually get the same thing. This year I enjoyed the Jumbo Lump Crab Cocktail...fantastic. For dinner I had the Cowboy Steak. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. I had it with Béarnaise and crab meat. My wife had the chopped salad. It's always fresh and delicious.
For dinner she had the Salmon with crabmeat. We practically licked the plates clean. If you're not too full at this point, you have to have the Sticky Pudding. Words aren't enough. Just try it!
Great meal for a price you would expect to pay at a fine restaurant like Gallagher's
Gallagher's never misses, they treat you right and the meal is always delicious. We stayed at Resorts (another great spot) and always have a meal at Gallagher's when we do. We love the steaks, of course, and the truffle fries are a must. They also sent out a piece of cake with a candle for her birthday, which I thought was a really nice touch. I only mentioned it on the initial reservation, never said a word when we arrived and they very easily could have overlooked it and it would have still been a great time - BUT THEY DIDN'T and that made it just that much nicer. Always a hit
I was hoping my second visit would be as great as my first. Unfortunately it wasn't as good. My server Raul was very friendly but we never received our basket of bread not were our glasses refilled until we asked. Our entrees arrived Salmon warm and asparagus was cold. Raul did bring another serving but that too was cold. The house
Manager did stop by after that to check to see if we were enjoying our food. I'm hoping to dine on another occasion and hoping for an experience like the first time I visited.
I had the crab cakes. They were a disappointment, dry with no taste. Asked for more of the sauce they had drizzle on the crab cakes. It was brought out ice cold. We ordered the mashed potatoes for a side, also tasteless. What a disappointment. Have had good meals here in the past. I think you need to stick with a steak. Won't be going back anytime soon.
This restaurant is one of the best establishments. Not only for the most exquisite steak but mostly how my wife and I were treated for our anniversary dinner. I commend this restaurant for their hospitality and friendship. I recommend that they keep giving what they are giving which is unconstitutional love to their patrons.
Although we were the last diners there as we arrived near closing time, we didn't feel rushed at all and, in fact, our waiter, John, made us feel very welcome with his very friendly demeanor. He was very accommodating, attentive and anticipated our every wish. The crab cakes were extremely tasty and all the other diners were likewise pleased with their orders. At dinner's end, john presented me with a delish chocolate fudge cake and sang happy birthday to me. In all, a wonderful dining experience.
I was not happy with this restaurant at all. We were seven people. One of them was a child that did not eat. Our bill was about $800 and it was not good. The steaks were cooked to perfection but three of us had lobster that was extremely tough and overpriced. Our wine glasses were empty until we asked for a refill. I chose this restaurant because other steak houses in the area were not available for Easter. Poor choice. I should've cooked at home. Way overpriced for what you got. Most steak houses wait on you like your loyalty when you're paying that amount of money. I would not recommend.
awesome service. awesome food. every time we are in atlantic city gallaghers never seems to disappoint. the food and service is always top notch and the drinks are too. Like all atlantic city restaurants, everything, including the drinks can be a bit pricey. Gallaghers fits in the middle with quality food, fantastic service and tasty drinks at an average price for a top notch atlantic city restaurant. we will go back again next time....
