Gallagher's Grill Ratings and Reviews
Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner. The service was good. The food was outstanding, except for the grilled shrimp which I did not like at all. I had the grilled swordfish with four grilled shrimp. The shrimp tasted like they had been swimming in a chlorinated pool. The fish was very good. The other two people at the table ordered steaks. The steaks were fantastic and were sizzling in butter. The macaroni and cheese was really delicious. We'll definitely be back, but not frequently. With two glasses of wine, the bill for the three of us with tax and tip was $240.
Gallagher’s restaurant is one you can count on for delicious food consistently delivered. Wish the noise level could be addressed. Parking is often a problem. You can’t ask for fresher ingredients. I have never been disappointed in the quality of food which is brought to the table in a timely fashion.
I have been bringing a large crowd each year after the Madisonville Boat Show. As long as you have space, we are there. Each time, everyone comments on the quality of the food, and that the service was excellent.
Our food was hot, not warm, which is a tribute to your staff.
We will continue to come there.
Birthday dinner. Great food. Great service. Turtle soup is best on northshore. Filet was tender, very tasty and perfectly prepared. Spinach and Caesar salads were very good. Although prices might seem high to those accustomed to a chain steakhouse, they were very fair for the quality of food and service. This will be our regular go to place for special occasion dinners and for business lunch.
My Wife and I went here for our 10th Wedding Anniversary. It was our first time eating here and we were more than thrilled. We both had the filet and were blown away. The staff also went above and beyond by helping me present my wife her gift(a ring) on a plate with dessert and “I love you” written in chocolate. From the corn and crawfish bisque to the bread pudding dessert our meal was outstanding. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back.
We were there on a Sat. night, which I'm sure is always busy! We were there with another couple. The food was delicious, and we also enjoyed the white chocolate bread pudding. My only complaint would be that my husband and I ordered salads with our meal, but our entrees came without the salad which was forgotten! The waiter apologized and was very nice. We ended up ordering one salad and split it since our food was already in front of us. Other than that, we all enjoyed the evening very much, and will certainly go back.

Dinner on a Saturday night in Covington. Sat in the main dining room ~ 6:30 PM. Most places would be sparsely filled, but Gallagher's was jamming ! Service is top notch ! No rushing you. Cocktails, appetizers delivered promptly. Best steak (16 oz ribeye) on the north shore . Cooked & seasoned perfectly. Pecan crusted backed sweet potato casserole tasted even better than described. Filet/soft shell crab my wife had was equally delicious .
The main dining room was just a bit noisy as they were very busy. BUT, that would not deter me from getting back to Gallagher's again soon !
Might give Gallagher's another try, maybe on a busier night. The restaurant has a good feel and the service by Andy was attentive and informative. The Oyster's Pablo was delicious for an appetizer. It was our first visit to the restaurant and on a week night, so we were looking forward to it's reputation for great steaks and fish dishes. We had the Pompano plate which was just okay, had a taste where we knew it was beginning to be too old, the sauce was tasty. We also had the soft shelled crab with petit filet plate as well. The soft shell was delicious but the filet was cold. Sent it back and it came back soon, and still cold. Oh well, I took it home and will make a lunch. The creme brulee and coffee was tasty. Mixed feelings.
I have been telling my wife about Gallaghers for 3 years now. We live in another state, and I was finally able to take her there while we were in New Orleans for a football game. Anytime we eat steak or bread pudding at other restaurants, I would tell her "the best steak and bread pudding is at Gallaghers". After our meal here she said "I get it". The very best bone in filet and white chocolate bread pudding in the world. Service is fantastic, the ambience is romantic.
Out celebrating my birthday and going to white linen night. Friends from grammar school came to Gallaghers for the first time. Wine, appetizers, and everyone steaks were perfect. As always Louis went out of his way to take of us. Best place on North shore for mouthwatering steaks.
Not a great dining experience.
Steaks were marginal at best, improperly cooked, each steak was served to the wrong guest. Crispy panko crushed redfish was burnt instead of crispy much more panko than fish. Brussels sprout side dish was raw and not edible.
Wine wasn't bad great suggestion form the wait staff.
