Caesar salad was delicious
Bread with olive oil and balsamic was delicious as well.
Fettuccine carbonara was not great. Salty, very loose and liquidy- if that’s a word. Very little Parmesan - lots of “ham” diced but not bacon flavor.

We were celebrating a birthday and requested a quiet table. The staff was accommodating and attentive even though we were in the parking lot. The lasagna bolognese was amazing. The wine list provided many options.

I took 3 of my friends to dinner for a birthday.. I have been raving about Gales to them for a year or so and finally I got them here..so they loved it and they will be definitely coming back..

They have an extensive food and diverse cocktail menu - which was terrific. We ordered a pizza (which could have had a crisper crust), the seafood fritti (which was fresh, crispy and delicious) and a couple of cocktails (which were very well prepared).

The pace inside was a tad frantic, which may be part of getting the staff ready for a "full house" now that the city has reopened. We were told the pizza would take a good 20 minutes, yet it was served very quickly - maybe 10 minutes top! Ditto on the seafood. Despite that, the food was delicious; the service good and I look forward to coming here again.

The last time I ate here the food and service was outstanding. This time the service seemed rushed. We received our appetizer and main course at the same time. The food was good except for dessert. The tiramisu consisted of dry cookies smothered in cream. I was surprised the ladyfingers weren't soaked in rum. I'll try this place again but I'll have a different dessert.

The entire staff were very nice and seemed to really appreciate our being there. The food was great with ample portions. Was a very pleasant surprise as we had never been to Gale’s before and will definitely be back.

Repeat customer, wait staff are on top of their game, food arrives hot which is so often not the case, the complimentary bread plate is perfect, and serving portions/plates can be shared, paired with appetizers, which leaves room for dessert such as the coconut cream cake that is delish. Full bar menu, reasonably priced. The patio is so inviting.

Excellent lunch choice -not dinner, in my experience, but excellent lunch choice and wonderful and safe during the pandemic, with its pleasant outdoor dining. Kelly, our waitress, was impeccable, friendly, lively, efficient, great maker of coffee too. Food great except for the focaccia bread which was in 4 round slices, toasted, losing all of the flavor it once had. Wonderful habit of giving a free dessert to a birthday person, and not just some bland bowl of vanilla ice cream, but whatever the person wanted from the menu -in this case the delicious and generously sized coconut cake. The hostess, busboy and all the other staff members were very nice also.

My three friends and I had a wonderful lunch in their new outdoor patio area. We all had the same special which was sausage ravioli in an arrabbiata and mushroom sauce. It was so good, so so good! We then split a dessert, the blueberry peach crostata with ice cream on top - a perfect finish to a perfect meal.

First time at Gales since the Pandemic shut down. Had a combination of outdoor and limited indoor seating. We chose to reserve indoors. The menu was quite expansive compared to other restaurants we have eaten at since the pandemic. Food was very good. My wife had the Swordfish special, which she found extremely good. I had the chicken picatta, which also tasted good. However, I thought the chicken was too thick compared to other chicken picatta's I have had, although still moist. The mashed potatoes had no salt, which required me to use some of the sauce to give it more taste. Dessert was also good. Our server was excellent, with just the right amount of interaction and pleasant attitude.

The service was excellent and food was delicious. Im from New York and the Lasagna reminded me of being back in Brooklyn. The flavor of the sauce/“gravy” and the texture of the lasagna made me miss home a little bit.... hahahahaha. Simply put the food is excellent and the service is warm and friendly. If you can, when you get a craving for some good Italian food give this spot a try!

As always the food was excellent and the service was great. My date and I enjoyed our evening out and will return again.

The regular and specials menus were impressive. The dishes offered seemed like authentic Italian food. But we were not happy with the quality of any of the dishes we ordered. The food seemed bland and very generic--honestly, I've had better Italian at Olive Garden. This was especially disappointing because the prices were fairly high. I don't mind paying for a good meal. But this was not one.

One of the best Italian restaurants in Pasadena. if not the best. Excellent pastas and salads; attentive wait staff, easy (and fee) parking. Will return again and soon.

So glad we found Gales. Wonderful Italian food. Ate outside so never saw the inside. But food was some of the best Italian in Pasadena. Jose was a great server we will ask for on future visits. Plenty of parking in the back. Heartily recommend Gales.

We haven't been here in a few years, but after the excellent dinner on Sunday we will return soon. We both enjoyed our squash blossom appetizer and our entrees of crab and shrimp ravioli and breaded pork chop. A nice apple tart finished off the meal. We had very good service from Logan, and the inside dining was great.

Such a gem!!!! Food was delicious, great wine list, and service was spot on. Will definitely be back!

We have dined at Gale's twice in the last month and have enjoyed the restaurant both times. Would highly recommend and one benefit is that you do not have to deal with the parking that can be a hassle in Old Town Pasadena.

Well, They got my daughter's pizza wrong twice. She just wanted a simple cheese pizza but the first one was filled with tomatoes on top which I specifically asked them not to do and then the second was just crust and cheese, no sauce. She wasn't happy. They didn't take the pizza off the bill but they offered us free dessert. My ravioli was barely lukewarm when arrived and very underwhelming, not worth the 28.00 dollars. The prosciutto and melon wasn't great either, the melon wasn't very ripe and the ham just didn't taste great. My daughter's steak had a huge fatty strand in it which grossed her out. My cappuccino wasn't hot and was served like a latte, very disappointing. My salad was great though.

I wanted to complain but didn't want to embarrass my teenage daughters. I just paid the $150.00 bill, tipped well and left disappointed.
