Extremely accommodating for some allergies. The service and the food could not have been better.
Galata never fails. Their food is consistently delicious!
Great local spot for lunch. There is something on the menu for everyone, the staff is knowledgeable and helpful and it's good value for the price.
We are really starting to love this place. The food is consistently fresh and very diverse. The kid kabobs are a good option with rice and tasty proteins, no veg or salad though.
For adults the grilled octopus is delicious as an app and the lentil soup was outstanding. Great place, great food. We will be back.
Even though the restaurant was less than half occupied when we arrived, we (2) were sat at the worst table - the one nearest the entrance/exit so people leaving the restaurant and mulled around, were right at our tableside - very disturbing. Portions are good-size, and tasty, although on the salty side.
My husband and I were in Menlo Park for some business and stopped by for an early dinner. It did not disappoint. We had mostly appetizers for dinner so we could sample a little bit of everything. All was delicious. Service was very attentive but not intrusive. We will definitely go back
I like this place a lot!!! Delicious food, good and friendly service and great value!!
Part of the sudden wave of Turkish restaurants on the mid-Peninsula. As usual with Turkish restaurants, food was really good. Restaurant was almost full on a Saturday evening, so our making a reservation was worthwhile. Some of the tables have a worn out finish; not attractive on dark wood. Three different members of the staff announced the list of special items both of which were seafood items. It sounds like the staff may not be fully organized. We did not have one of those seafood items but instead had wonderful choices off the menu. Also two glasses of Turkish red wine which were excellent and for dessert we split one serving of bread pudding. That was a great finish to this meal.
Love this place!
This is our "go to" restaurant in Menlo Park when we don't have time to make dinner.
This was my first time there and I love it! The kebobs were delicious. Everything was very, very good and I can't wait to go back.
Sorry I am unable to give you a review. It was the first time that I went there for dinner and I need to eat there more than once to give a review.
Seating on the sidewalk in front was not noisy when we went. This time of year, sun in your eyes is not a problem. Service was fine, though there was a miscommunication about which of two shrimp kabob items on the menu we wanted. What we got worked fine for us though. Giant shrimp were tender, not overcooked, and nicely spiced. Pomegranate salad was tasty, though not exceptional.
This is a good place if you're trying to eat low-carb.
Tons of vegetarian options. Great Spanikopita.
Food is great. Raziye makes one feel at home and if you are lucky enough to have Sarhan as your server then you have it made!
too noisy and marginal food and service...ordered salads and two minutes later here come huge entrees.....very noisy also...
Two friends and I had a delightful summer lunch, lingering on the patio and chatting over tasty food and drinks and decadent desserts . Starting with the Melitzanosalata (eggplant dip) and pita, a great choice for the hungry trio, we had their refreshing adult beverages at a table on the patio. Then we moved onto mains of the Kofte Plate, a Falafel plate, and the Galata House Kebab plate. My Galata House Kebab (charbroiled mild spicy ground beef and lamb) provided me with the tastiest ground meat kebab that I've had in many years, and we all enjoyed the hummus and lightly dressed green salad that accompanied our mains. We decadently decided to order individual desserts of the limoncello flute and one order of the saffron-pistachio ice cream to share. Wow--that saffron-pistachio ice cream is unusual and quite tasty, and the limoncello flute was light and sweet and yummy, too. We knew that none of us would need dinner that day, and we resolved to return to Galata Bistro again.
99% of the time, this restaurant is very consistently good with it's delicious food and great service. This time was also in the 99% category. I like to bring friends here because I can count on the quality of the food and the super service I always receive here.
My wife and I both ordered the Pirzola (lamb chops). There were four average size, single-cut chops accompanied by rice, salad and a small amount of hummus on each plate. I thought the lamb chops were good, but were thicker in the past. I really like their rice, but the hummus while having an excellent taste wasn't firm enough.
The food was excellent and the Octopus was spectacular.
Tasty food and great service. Very nice staff.
Family get together and it was easy to talk and hear one another. The food & service were both great. They are always super nice and charming, and they make great food.
Healthy and tasty, casual Mediterranean cuisine, well executed. pleasant ambiance. solid value.
Great local restaurant with wonderful food and a very nice menu. You will enjoy your visit to Galata Bistro. Plus, the servers are super nice.
Love the beet salad with grilled Octopus, and my friend had a delicious wrap. The food is great, the bread is divine, the restaurant is super clean and the service is awesome. Love this place. Thanks for the lovely dining experience.
The pomegranate molasses kebab was delicious!
Service was efficient and super friendly .
Love the large outside area that's been added in front of the restaurant. More umbrellas opened to shade us from the sun would be a nice touch. Food is always consistently goo as is the service.
interesting menu. But the felafel was overdone and did not come with pita
Portions are generous. We brought back a third of the food. Good vegetarian and meat options
As usual, I ordered the pirzola (char grilled lamb chops served with rice, salad, and a small amount of humus). I think the lamb chops are outstanding as is the accompanying, wonderfully flavored rice. And the humus is probably the best I've ever had. Regarding the service, the waiter was very attentive, asking me if everything is alright and bringing me my order in a very timely manner. I've also met the manager of whom I have a very high regard for providing me with excellent customer service.
Nice for a luncheon with friends who wanted to talk and be heard.
This was my 2nd visit there. I enjoyed it a lot, but the male waiter was not as attentive as the 2 female waitresses during my 1st visit.
If you enjoy middle eastern and/or eastern Mediterranean food, I can highly recommend Galata Bistro. We were 5 people in our party. We had 4 different dishes. Everyone raved about the food. I personally had the lamb shank. Cut it with a fork as it fell off the bone. Good value.
Friendly service. Good food.
Very attentive staff. Food was tasty, plentiful. I had chicken, lamb, and beef kabobs with rice, hummus, salad, tsaziki. Delicious!
Food here is very consistently good as is the service. The only annoying thing is that they always try to give me a small table eventhough it's not crowded.
This is the second time I've eaten at this restaurant and my experience was much better though not perfect.
We both ordered the pirzola which consisted of four very good lamb chops accompanied by some salad, hummus and excellent bread. I thought the hummus was the best I've ever had.
Although the waiter was very personable and polite, he seems to have gotten our orders mixed up. Unfortunately, although I ordered my lamb chops well done, I didn't receive them that way. The waiter seems to have given me my wife's order instead. I was also charged extra for changing the accompanying rice to grilled vegetables even though the waiter never told me this in advance
Made a reservation for 6:30 on a Friday night after another favorite place in Menlo Park closed for a private event. Was very pleased with experience there. Ambience is low-lit, lots of tables. We were early for chick in but they seated us right away, unusual for a Friday. Brought bread and olive oil immediately.
The food is Mediterranean - I had Pomegranate Spinach kabob - lovely combo with rice and a small salad. Friends had falafel and lavosh kabob.
All served quickly with nice presentation - for 3 full entrees and tea, the check was only $55. A bargain in this area.
Always a great place.........we have it on our regular list and have been there many times.
The staff is particularly helpful, Happy and nice!
Great food and also has many Vegan options. There salads are amazing and their bread is outstanding. They are also SUPER nice and it is just a great overall experience.
