   Galata Bistro is a go-to for our family, for our celebrations our dinners for those from out of town, and for take-out a couple times per week. This place is consistent. The staff is always extremely nice and attentive. The food is always delicious. The ambiance is warm and always inviting. Our family can't say enough great things about Galata Bistro!

   We’ve been dining here for years. Love the chicken kebab meal at Galata. A go-to take out for us. The outdoor seating is lovely and easily accommodated our party of 6. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

   We had a very positive first visit to Galata. Even on a busy Saturday evening, the staff was very attentive and pleasant…and our dinners were excellent. Will definitely go back!

   There was a very large party of young business people having lunch and the noise level was so high that, even though the day was chilly, we opted to have them turn on the overhead heating lamps, and we ate outside. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the food was good.

   We booked this restaurant for my daughter's birthday dinner based on the amazing reviews on Yelp. But to say that we were disappointed, would be an understatement. Either the reviewers haven't had "real" Mediterranean food or are too enamored with what they perceive as "ethnic" food that is different. We ordered the COLD SAMPLER PLATE and the hummus and baba ghanoush's consistency was watery. Note that if you order their rose wine, you will get a small bottle of Brut rose wine. All the entrees had so much tomatoes that it felt like the chef was trying to drown us in tomato flavors to compensate for the lack of Mediterranean spices/taste. The lamb tasted like rubber. As for the service, we ordered our entrees while we were waiting for the other guests in the party to arrive (they got late), our server came to ask us 3 times if we "actually" wanted him to send the order to the kitchen. Seriously?? They did allow us to bring an outside cake and brought it out with candles. That was one bright moment of the evening. And the kicker was that while we were still there and before the closing time, they started pulling out the wooden planks off the walls. WTH!!! They couldn't wait until their last remaining guests left? We are NEVER going back. It was just such a disappointment. If you want to try "real" Mediterranean food, amazing wine collection, I would recommend Anatolian Kitchen at 340 California Ave, Palo Alto, CA or Evvia Estiatorio at 420 Emerson St, Palo Alto, CA 94301. Just a short drive from Menlo Park.

   Food was quite good, and service was very fast. But the ambience felt like a Chuck E Cheese. There were many tables with kids shouting and running around. So the price/reviews and the actual experience did not math at all !

    Service was attentive but not intrusive to a visit with a long time friend, salmon was cooked to perfection , salads fresh and just the right amount of dressing, desert of two small portions with ice cream were perfect… we enjoyed it all in the outdoor structure on an off and on rainy Saturday… it was a port in the storm treat!

    Galata Bistro is consistently a wonderful dining experience. The food is great, the service is very good and the ambiance and overall quality is excellent! Very nice wait staff and a pleasure to dine there. I frequent there often and order food to go a lot and it is always a positive experience and the food is consistently fresh and delicious!!!

    Omg this place is fabulous! Hot sampler was amazing and spanikopita was great! Greek salad, feta fries, and a Glass of wine completed a delicious meal. Will definitely return!

    Took my team here. They had a great selection of food to meet all the different food requirements (vegetarian friendly). The team loved the food. The wine list was great but the beer selection was limited.

    This used to be one of our favorite restaurants in town, but our last meal there was entirely disappointing. We brought the family and the general consensus was not to return. The food was more bland than usual, items were forgotten that we had ordered, the waitress argued with me about my choices at one point and it was just an overall disappointing visit.

    The waiter was expecting us and had a table selected for us. My dinner companion is in a wheelchair, so I appreciated the thoughtfulness. After ordering the food was served timely. I had the Pomegranate Salad with two lamb skewers on the side. The salad was incredible..the arugula and all of the ingredients were fresh and it was just the right mix of sweet and savory. My friend had the Lamb Kebob entree. It came with a scoop of white rice and a small salad. My friend said the salad was tired...it looked tired, to be honest. It was a standard iceberg lettuce salad with shredded carrot. I thought it a shame. My salad was superior. How easy it would have been to make a simple salad with fresh garden greens. All in all our experience was good, but not as excellent as it could have been.

    We had lunch here after a Staff Meeting of 9 people. Everyone enjoyed the appetizers, the drinks and each ordered kabobs, mousakka, salads, salmon and then dessert - bread pudding and baklava. Everything was yummy and no complaints. We finished everything and was so full, that we brought the baklava with us! Great service too, they kept filling our waters, and checking on us to see if we needed anything. We'll be back again for sure!

    So many menu choices for any kind of dietary requirements so it was very easy to invite many friends who are vegetarians and friends who are gluten free and also those who eat meat--all at the same table. Their food is always fresh and the service is great too.

    Very disappointed in the lamb chops I ordered last night. I had ordered them medium and they arrived VERY well done. Besides being well done they were basically the size of a dollar coin and very flat. One of the three lamb chops didn’t even have a bone attached to it. I told our waiter, who was wonderful, that I didn’t want to send them back because of time, so he brought me one extra lamb chop. It was better, but not great. The kitchen should never have allowed the lamb chops to go out. $35 for three tiny pieces of well-done meat…The rest of the meal was great, including a starter, soup and dessert.     First time dining here. The food was delicious. We had chicken kebabs, Galata special kebabs, grilled octopus and the Prawn kebab. The rice was flavorful and meats were well seasoned. Also had dolma and spanakopita as appetizers. Service was great.

    Food: 4/5 - Dishes were tasty; Portions were good Place/Ambience: 3.5/5 - Nice atmosphere; Good outdoor seating with heaters Service: 2.5/5 - Initial experience was poor with rude service, but the service improved through the evening and was decent by the end. I'm always amazed how little the hospitality industry understands 'hospitality'. I can't stand restaurants and servers that think they're doing you a favor by being courteous. In this case the male server after the initial hiccup was generally helpful and accommodating while the woman was bordering on obnoxious initially and then bearable by the end. I was so annoyed after the initial experience I didn't even feel like answering her questions as the evening went on.
