I had asked for some special seating as it was my wife’s birthday but we were seated with everyone else. Food was pretty good. Not sure I would choose as my first choice to eat but was satisfied.
Our party consisted of four adults and two tired and hungry adolescent hockey players. We happened to have the dining room to ourselves on n early Sunday evening after a game. Our waitress was lovely and attentive, and our meals were delightful, even measuring up to the particular standards of picky 14-year-olds. Great experience!
Thanksgiving buffet was very nice but food items that are best served hot, although tasty, were at cool to room temperature. It would have been better if, at least, turkey and gravies, soup, etc were hot, but tables were filled for the entire seatings and large crowd and the length of time the buffet was out (about 5 hours) made it almost impossible to have food at kitchen to table quality. The service was excellent, we still enjoyed the buffet, and we would go again.
Nice place Food good. Service slow but that may be to make experience more leisurely.

Comfortable setting,well prepared food, good service for Sunday brunch . Guests from out of town are looking forward to returning with us for another meal.
Perhaps this was an off night for this restaurant, but the service was slow and the food was really a disappointment. Our cocktails arrived after our appetizers. The waiter kept forgetting things we requested, for instance, a glass of water with our cocktails. The oysters had clearly been shucked hours before being served. They had sunken deep into their shells and were dry and sad. The duck wings must have been fried at least twice. They were just crunchy, dried things. The duck breast was dry and unappetizing. Sadly, the waiter was somewhat spaced out, so the service truly lacked, too.
Our experience here was mediocre. Located in the Orchards hotel in Williamstown, the restaurant, like the hotel, is in need of an update. The place felt dated and run down and we noticed lots of areas that needed to be painted or repaired.
The food was okay, not great, or even very good, but not terrible, just okay. I had the mushroom ravioli, a little bland, but fine.
The prices were high for the value received. The waitress was attentive.
Overall, rather disappointing, as everything looked so great in the photos, but certainly not the worst hotel and restaurant we have ever visited.
My friend forgot her cane, and we were pleasantly surprised with the availability a wheelchair! Our evening was saved-no return home for a cane. The food was excellent, the cook does a fantastic job. Overall it gets a 5 plus!!!
We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server was very attentive. Dinner was delicious and they even made up a special birthday dessert!
The food was good but not great for the price. Wait staff very pleasant. Ambiance relaxed but decor incredibly dated--flashback to an 80s idea of fine Euro-dining.
A steakhouse with only one steak option! I got chips and three small dipping sauces for around $7 very expensive bag of chips! I actually thought it was french fries and dip like fish and chips. Wait staff very cold, limited interaction, but efficient. Beverage prices outrageous. Overall poor experience and value. Will never go back and will not recommend.
Servuce was reakky poor considering that this is a high season of sorts and there was plenty of open tables at the time. Food was OK but lacked some extra special flavor that was expected.

The food is quite good at this restaurant located in the Orchards Hotel in Williamstown, MA. Service was pleasant but uneven and unpredictable. The bartender was very nice, but inexperienced to the degree that she seemed unfamiliar with the fact that chardonnay was a white wine, not a red. All the staff at the entire property seemed similarly ill equipt for their positions and/or just unhappy to be there.
First rate breakfast, reasonable prices, great service.
We visited based on Open Table reviews. What a great find. The restaurant is associated with the Orchards Hotel. The dining room is nicely decorated, though we chose to eat out on the patio. We were surprised that the prices on the menu did not compute with the restaurant. I expected much higher pricing, not that I'm complaining. The food was beautifully presented, and was tasty. Our waitress, Mariah, took our order without writing anything down, and it came perfectly prepared and delivered to the correct person. Very impressive. All in all, this is a restaurant that will make our "visit often" list. There was, truly, no place for improvement, as none was needed.
Ambiance outside was lovely and service was very good. Overall the food was good.
Macaroon dessert was sensational and quite reasonable.
Service was excellent and menu very creative. Wine list so-so but decent for the area. Ambience a butt coffee shop - with - white - tablecloth, but ok. Food prep spotty.

I had dinner years ago at The Orchards. I needed to find a great restaurant on Commencement
weekend for very good friends coming up for the evening and night. Gaia was much better and
really superior to my initial first and second choices that were both booked. I'm so glad to
know there is an excellent restaurant that is quiet, spacious. friendly, and with a varied
and interesting menu, beautifully prepared and presented.
The restaurant was beautiful but the food was mediocre. I got the lamb ribeye and asked for it medium and it came out well. Lamb is not good cooked well but my husband and I wanted to eat together so I just ate it anyway. I thought the prices very high for the quality of food. Our waitress was fabulous though.
We had a lovely brunch on Easter Sunday. Festive and delicious. The outdoor terrace was best of all.

Visiting Williamstown on a college trip to Williams. Stayed at The Orchards. Bartender (45 year old guy) was great and very personable. It went downhill from there. My daughter ordered a steak medium rare that came out way overdone. Tried to have breakfast the next morning but were told it would be a very long wait. Looked like they had only one person who was doing double duty as hostess and waitress despite having a lot of diners, including a tour bus group. Knowing who was checking in to the hotel, why wouldn't the on-site restaurant staff up accordingly? We had to bail and go to Dunkin Donuts. Would not go back.
Great food and service. We ate in the dining room/bar area where the fireplace was going. A very comfortable atmosphere. Definitely will come back.
Food was too salty for mine not seasoned enough for a fellow diner. Service was slow and not too friendly with only two servers covering the large area. I would not go again.
My husband and I ate here on a weekend trip. The restaurant was almost empty but this shouldn't have worried us as the meal was delicious. Williamstown isn't much of a dining hot spot so we were glad to find this high end option for our trip. My husband's prime rib special was a very large portion and cooked perfectly - quite a deal for the $24 price point. I had bison short ribs served on a bed of creamed corn, cheddar mashed potatoes and fried leeks. The meat was fall apart tender, the creamed corn was to die for and the fried leeks lended a nice salty crunch to the rest of the plate for some much needed textural contrast. I would say the only miss was one of the two desserts we ordered - a chocolate mousse served in a chocolate cup. The mousse was delightful but the use of the chocolate cup was a bit of overkill and one notedness. The other dessert we tried, a maple cheesecake with granola/pecan crust, sweet butternut squash puree and fresh blueberries - was inspired. Overall a great spot if you are in Williamstown and looking to drop a chunk of change.
An interesting menu. Prices were a little steep, but the food was delicious. Very quiet for 6 PM on a Saturday night - there was one other table with just one person who I think was a hotel patron. Another couple came in shortly after, but I would still call it quiet for a Saturday night.
We stayed at the Orchards Hotel where Gala is housed. The hotel was a wonderful experience and highly recommend it. Breakfast was included at the Gala, and based on other reviews we read, we made New Years Eve dinner reservations there.
Breakfast was fine, no complaints per say, but there was no host(ess) to seat us, and the staff seemed untrained, and unprofessional, but the food was good.
New Years was an interesting senecio. We made dinner reservations for 9:00pm, and changed them to 8:30. When we arrived the hostess wasn't immediately available , and a waitress started to seat us. When the hostess did come, she seemed confused about why we were there, and told us she only had 2 tables available. The place had very dinners and there were plenty of tables open. We picked the one we wanted(not one of the two offered). The other tables never did fill up.
Although it was not crowded, dinner took a long time to arrive.
My faker of sole was actually very good, my fiancé's Iron steak was served raw, not rare and only 2-3 prices were eatable, the rest of the steak was all fat.
Absolute no ambiance.
Food was good, ended up being perfect for new years eve. Held our reservations and had a table for 10 ready when we got there.
Had dinner here on a Friday night before attending a Ghost Tour USA adventure in near by North Adams. My friend and I each had the burger with fries . Yummy! My son had a turkey club, the biggest I've even seen. He thought it was tops! My son's friend had the Fish and Chips and he also enjoyed it. We even had small taste of a chef special that was offered to us in the cutest tea cup. The people were pleasant and the fire place was roaring! Totally recommend this restaurant.
We were there for the Thanksgiving buffet. It was horrible. thin slices of prime rib were offered and hacked bits of turkey. Both were cold. We were seated in the bar, in a corner and couldn't really get out very easily. The buffet was in the dining room. We had to go through the reception area past the hostess desk through the crowds of people waiting for their tables with plates of food. Service was disgraceful. When we got our desserts we had to ask another waitress for coffee and waited 15 minutes for our waitress to come over and confirm we wanted coffee. Waited another 10 minutes and then another 20 minutes for our bill. Overpriced!!! Almost $40 per person and $2.50 for a 6 ounce cup of lukewarm coffee. This was our 5th year going to Gala for Thanksgiving. We are so disappointed. This is not the Gala we went to last year.
The Gala salad days have passed. Everything, the decor, carpet, food & service were all Ok, even good for some, but it's not a "you've got to try it" kind of place
Overall quite good though bus tour crowding a little disconcerting. Would certainly recommend once the foliage season bus tours are over.
Very Disappointed. Overpriced for what we expected. Server was fine, but the lady who seated us was grumpy and threw us in the bar area. They seemed to want to save the nicer area for hotel guests, as it is in the basement of the hotel. We asked to be moved to the other area since it was quieter and nicer, and she obliged, but not very happily.
Pretty good. My duck breast was excellent, but my wife's poached salmon, while very good, was a little heavy on the citrus glaze and sauce. The sides were excellent--and pretty innovative. The baby spinach salad was good.
