Excellent food, for a reasonable price. Very cramped however! They squeezed 7 adults next to us at a booth that would comfortably seat 4, and 4 of us were put in a small 2 seater. No room for drinks and food!
Great food and service on Sinatra night! Thanks for a wonderful experience.
Great history, great food and great neighborhood. A unique piece of Denver history that continues to deliver.
Excellent food and superb service! The drinks and the food were well above par and the portions were superb!
What a cool and classy place to hang! The history and the mystery, along with the music and ambiance, make it a step back in time. The food is consistent and delicious, the service top notch and the atmosphere... so romantic!
It was our first time to visit on 4/1/18. We went for Easter Brunch. The food was fabulous. Best meatballs I ever had. My husband loved the Bloody Mary bar. The shrimp and candied bacon to go with it were delicious! Our server was so attentive and was always a step ahead re-filling our drinks, etc. The desserts were out of this world. I can't wait to go back for dinner! We all enjoyed ourselves very much! Wonderful experience.
I've been here a couple times and, as always, this place is amazing!
I love this place and the atmosphere!!! The “gangster” and “mob” feel it has. Just a fun old school Italian place to eat and drink.
My wife and I love this place! Amazing atmosphere with an interesting historical background. We’ll see you next time.
Katie was a gem! And the food was excellent, as usual!!
Awesome food. Great staff. Convenient parking. Definitely will be going there again!
Authentic Italian--so good! Friendly, speedy service. A little loud, but not conversation-killing.
We had a ladies brunch on a Sunday afternoon and indulged in the Bloody Mary bar and bottomless mimosas. I have never had such a delicious BM and it was because of all the options with hot sauces, spices, garnishes and mixers. Caitlyn's service was excellent, friendly, fun and appropriately attentive. The food was delicious and the brunch menu included so many different choices it was hard to decide. Wishing I had visited in the first nine years I lived in Denver rather than when I am about to leave.
Wonderful old world Italian cuisine with all the charm a family owned restaurant. The wine selection was good, the entree were prepared well and the service was great, spot on. The food was good enough that everybody took a box home.
The food here was good, and the drink and dessert selection was as well. This is a very busy, cramped feeling restaurant. It's difficult to have a conversation without rubbing elbows with your neighbor. However, for the right occasion it would be a fun lively place to bring a group and hear live music.
We are regulars at Gaetanos. We eat there all the time. They have the freshest fettuccine and other foods in all of Denver. HOWEVER, it was MY BIRTHDAY and I walked in holding a cake that I had shipped all the way from New York City. They were extremely ridged about allowing me to bring my own cake in, most other restaurants totally allow this. I was actually shocked at how rude the hostess was about it. My husband took it back to the car. I really wanted to share this cake with my grandson which I did not get to do. I was completely and totally disappointed in how they treated us about this issue.
Gaetanos is a regular stop for us and we usually sit at the bar. Only disappointment on this particular visit was the hostesses, who paid no mind to the fact that I requested a booth 24 hours in advance via open table, and I also indicated it was a special occasion/celebration. As a former restaurant host, I would always begin my shift by checking the special notes in the open table reservations to make sure to accommodate special requests. We arrived and there wasn’t an available booth so we opted to sit at the bar. Hostess didn’t apologize or even acknowledge that I had in fact requested a booth. In my day, I would have comped two glasses of prosecco and apologized. I would think it would be fairly easy to hold a booth as per a 24 hour request but accommodating us wasn’t the remotest of priorities for the restaurant. Then, Instead of moving our reserved table within Open Table, the hostess promptly canceled my reservation, which would have left me with no open table credit and the inability to follow up with a review. I asked her to reverse the cancellation, which apparently she did, but she was visibly annoyed with me. No major harm done. I will still be back for some spaghetti and clams and my wife loves the GF pasta. I just won’t bother requesting a booth because it’s not gonna happen. 😉
Food was good. Took a little while to get our entrees. Overall very pleasant dinner.
We love dining at Gaetano’s. This was our daughters first visit. She loved everything but the service. Our waitress was friendly but slow to meet our needs as she had a very large group that seemed to take all her time. We’ve never had to wait like this while dining so it was disappointing after bragging the place up.
Cioppino was missing the cod. Flavor was good but seafood was limited.
Excellent food great local restaurant never disappoints
Very enjoyable. Great atmosphere and good food. We celebrated a special birthday and the staff was very gracious and treated us very well.
Our visit to Gaetano’s could not have been better. We had a 7pm reservation on a Saturday night, which normally means you have to compromise good service. Not on this night. Our waiter was David, and he was exceptional. The food was incredible. I can’t wait to go again.
The food was fantastic, as usual, but we waited 15 minutes to place a drink & app order. 25 minutes after we sat down, and after we finished our shared appetizer, I finally received my drink. It was busy but there were plenty of waitstaff and zero sense of urgency.
Gaetano's never disappoints. Good, New York style Italian food. Love it every time.
My wife and I are from out of state. We were introduced to Gaetano's by a family in the area years ago. Over the years, when we come to the Denver area, we make it a point to dine at Gaetano's. So, we've been to Gaetano's a hand full of times. Each time we have dined at Gaetano's it keeps getting better. I highly recommend to make reservations, the place will fill up quick. We like to see people having an enjoyable time. A very lively atmosphere. A lot of good vibes amongst everyone. A shout out to our server, Mary. she was awesome and very friendly. Gaetano's exceeded our expectations. Thank you Gaetano's for an enjoyable experience.
Great experience. Waitress had a great attitude and was very accommodating! Love the ambiance and setting. And the food was amazing!
Risotto is the bomb!!!
This place was a hoot! Our meals were delicious. Of note - everyone was very happy. Lots of hugging going on. There was a Frank Sinatra singer dude, very entertaining. Very loud music, I'm not sure if it is always like this, but on our Monday night, the party was on. Make a reservation, pretty tight quarters.
Always wanted to try this place and it didn’t disappoint!! Definitely going to be returning!!
Service was friendly and efficient. Great atmosphere. Love the 38th Avenue cocktail
When my breakfast skillet came out with no potatoes I asked our server if it was supposed to have potatoes in it (most skillets do). She said yes and said she would grab me some. Comes back with a bowl of potatoes and says “May I?”, grabs my fork and starts digging through my food looking for the potatoes that weren’t there remarking “the chef swore he put them in here but you’re right there aren’t any!”. I was shocked she had the audacity to dig through my food as if I were lying about the potatoes. The food was horrible anyways.
Food with The Family in an eccentricly authentic piece of local history? Absolutely! Comforting cuisine, superb service, and a panorama of jokes straight from The Godfather over tiramisu and a great cappuccino? You got it! Worried about getting whacked? The door's bullet proof, friend. Leave the gun, take the cannoli, and bring a friend. Live a little.
It was very nice. The food was so delicious. Just a little crowded. Felt like I was eating with the the person sitting right next to me
The food, ambiance, service, all of it was FANTABULOUS!!!!!
The food was outstanding and I can't wait to go back. Wish it wasn't as loud as it was or crowded.
We went on “Frank Sinatra” night and had a good time along with great food
Great food and service, we will be back agin soon. I had the lobster ravioli my wife had the lasagne both were delicious. Had the tiramisu for dessert that was perfect. Highly recommend this place to anyone!
Fantastic Italian gem with wonderful food and great service. The wine and atmosphere is nice and can be perfect for a date or a business meeting.
This place was recommended by a trusted friend. This place did not disappoint, as the food was great tasting at a decent price, not bad for a date. Good location with original taste that stuck to tradition. Most of all, the girlfriend loved it and that's what matters most at the end of the day.
