Gaetano's Ratings and Reviews
Everything went perfectly from the moment we walked in the door, until we left.
Our server was so friendly and knowledgeable.
She was great when asking for personal suggestions, and customer favorites.
This was a first visit, and it is my new favorite restaurant. The food is incredible. The service is fantastic. I highly recommend Gaetano's!!
This restaurant used be be our absolute favorite. Since the changes, we've tried it 3 more times, and always walk away a bit unimpressed.
The seating was prompt, and our table request was granted. But the service was really slow, and our server seemed really uninterested in being there. She made no attempt at acknowledging we were there for a birthday (why ask if you don't care?). She would disappear, it took forever for drinks, and after a half hour, empty glasses sat on the table. Finally the salads came. My salad was swimming in dressing, where my husband's had none. We had to mix them together. The salad croutons were stale. Then empty salad plates sat there until she brought the entrees, which took a really long time. I order $22 ravioli and got 5 small ravioli with a lame dollop of pesto on each one. The ravioli looked like it had been sitting out. They were dry and hard. She never came to check on us until she offered us dessert. No thanks. Our bill was nearly $100 for two before tip, and for a birthday celebration, made us wish we stayed home.
This place is wonderful! It was our first time visiting there and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. My wife and I were celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary and it couldn't have been better!! The food is fantastic, as well, and we will definitely return again sometime soon.
We always enjoy dining at Gaetano's. The food is good, as is the service. We especially like the Tasty Treats appetizer (an Italian sausage and peppers wrapped in pizza (?) dough with marinara dipping sauce) and all of the pasta dishes. My husband always seems to order fettucine alfredo or lasagna; I always stick with the linguine and clams. The Italian lemon cream cake for dessert is yummy, too. And on holidays like New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day there always seems to be a little something extra, like a complimentary glass of prosecco or a red rose for the ladies. Overall, it's a very pleasant experience.
Normally we would give Gaetano’s a much higher rating. This time the service was very slow. 20 minutes to get drinks. 40 minutes to get salads. All four meals came out cold. It took forever to get a server to come back and when we got the meals returned two of the four were colder than when they went back the first time. pasta was dried and shriveled up. They should have recooked the meals. The manager was nice and offered dessert which we declined.
Food was ok, service not. We had a resv vis Open Table and arrived 5 min early. 4 different people at the host stand told us someone would be with us... when we were finally sat it was 15 minutes until a server stopped despite the same 3 people walked by to visit tables on both sides of us.
Needless to say, cool looking place but totally uninspired service.
Gaetano''s is always busy, but the evening felt 'hurried'. Our order took a little longer than I would have thought. Our server asked if we could please finish up, as they had another reservation coming. Not my fault their kitchen was running behind. It wasn't the relaxing Sunday evening dining experience I'd hoped for. Probably won't go back anytime soon.
Arrived for our 5:30p reservation, service was slow, but we were in no rush. Ordered cocktails, appetizers, main course with wine, desserts with after dinner drinks, table of 5. As our desserts arrived the hostess approached our table (now 7:30p) and stated “we have a party of 5 that wants this booth and they’re here now waiting. We have a table turn of about 2 hours, so we need you to hurry and finish.” I looked around the restaurant in disbelief at the empty tabletops that could easily accommodate a party of 5 and ask if we could at least finish our desserts. She replied yes, but that we needed to hurry.
10 minutes passed and she returned to tell us she “really needed the booth” at which point I said, “do you know what would expedite the process? Receiving the check!”
Our waitress showed up suddenly and aplogized profusely, appogizing for the new hostess, blah, blah. We gulped our ports, paid our $400 tab and will NEVER return.
BTW, the veal was over cooked, but that was minor compared to the shove out the front door we received.
Host Joana was very rude. Made reservation that wasn’t honored, was told OpenTable had been shut down, so was made to wait an additional 30 minutes past reservation time and then given poor patio table- that had been open our entire wait- and refused booth upon request because hostess seemed to take issue with OpenTable reservation even after having been shown confirmation. Server and the rest of staff were lovely but terrible service from host almost ruined experience.
From the moment we walked in, to our server, everyone was very attentive. This was our first time dining at Gaetano’s, and the entire experience was outstanding. The food was reasonably priced, and the menu was very eclectic. Also, we were made aware that there is a Frank Sinatra impersonator at the restaurant twice a month who interacts with the diners! Are looking forward to going back!
This was our third visit and it was as outstanding as the first two. The food is incredible and the wait staff was excellent. Busy place, as usual! If anyone asks me for a recommendation for Italian food, this is my TOP pick! Thank you, Gaetano's, for a fantastic dining experience!
Always enjoyed the food. We took 2 couples from out of state and raved about the food. I ordered the ribeye steak because the last time it was beyond excellent. The steak was very fatty . It didn't even look like the one I ordered the first time . At $40.00 I expected the same quality. I'm thankful our guests didn't order based on my raving how wonderful it was . I would have been embarrassed.
Had dinner with a couple of friends on Friday night. It was the restaurant's 70th anniversary and lots of fun with people coming in costume to reflect the old neighborhood in north Denver. We had a wonderful waitress, great service. I think they may have been a little understaffed - our waitress was covering a lot of territory. The menu is fantastic and each of us really enjoyed our entree. I had the chicken piccata and it was absolutely delicious. We also got a very reasonably priced bottle of champagne - they have a very nice wine list. Overall, the restaurant is great but it's a bit noisy.
We love this restaurant- definitely has an old school vibe. Red banquets and dirty martinis make for a great night out. My only complaint of any kind was we called to add to our reservation and they said they couldn't accommodate. When we showed up to our table it ended up being 6 people at a table for 8 with 2 empty spots. We would really have enjoyed being able to have our friends join us, especially as there was clearly space for them. Food is great, service is great!
