Gaetano's Ratings and Reviews
When my breakfast skillet came out with no potatoes I asked our server if it was supposed to have potatoes in it (most skillets do). She said yes and said she would grab me some. Comes back with a bowl of potatoes and says “May I?”, grabs my fork and starts digging through my food looking for the potatoes that weren’t there remarking “the chef swore he put them in here but you’re right there aren’t any!”. I was shocked she had the audacity to dig through my food as if I were lying about the potatoes. The food was horrible anyways.
Food with The Family in an eccentricly authentic piece of local history? Absolutely! Comforting cuisine, superb service, and a panorama of jokes straight from The Godfather over tiramisu and a great cappuccino? You got it! Worried about getting whacked? The door's bullet proof, friend. Leave the gun, take the cannoli, and bring a friend. Live a little.
This place was recommended by a trusted friend. This place did not disappoint, as the food was great tasting at a decent price, not bad for a date. Good location with original taste that stuck to tradition. Most of all, the girlfriend loved it and that's what matters most at the end of the day.
Absolutely delicious Italian. We started with the complimentary water and bread. Then we got the fried raviolis with marinara sauce that were delicious. Then we got lasagna and chicken parmesan. The lasagna was the best lasagna I've ever had. We did not have room for dessert unfortunately but I would definitely go back.
Food took too much long to arrive, was mediocre and served barely warm. The server was very pleasant, but forgot the salad, served it with the meal after being reminded, said she would take it off the bill and then did not. There is more, but I choose not to elaborate.
This was the first time for a friend and me to visit Gaetano's. I will be back even though I live in Fort Collins.
I was warmed greeted by the hostess, and while I was offered a table right away although my friend had not yet arrived and I was about 45 minutes early and asked to be seated at the bar.
The bartender was gracious and fun to chat with. I decided on a Bombay Blue Sapphire very dry martini with as many olives as they cared to provide (I received six). The only weak spot in the entire evening was that the drink seemed very weak. My friend had arrived and tasted my drink and felt it was very week for 90 proof gin. During my time at the bar, the hostess came to me and said our table was right behind me and can go there whenever I desired.
My friend and I went to our table and the rest of the evening was delicious! The offered bread was very good with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I had a shrimp and scallops special that the chef was willing to use gnocchi instead of the stated paste (very reasonable $2 up-charge). We both were extremely pleased with the entrees, in terms of taste, visual appeal, and portion size. The waitress made excellent suggestions for wine to go with our respective entrees.
The tiramisu was the perfect way to end the meal.
Again, the overall experience was very nice and I know we will both be back for future meals. I may be a little cautious on the martini, however.
Do not miss Gaetano's!
Everything went perfectly from the moment we walked in the door, until we left.
Our server was so friendly and knowledgeable.
She was great when asking for personal suggestions, and customer favorites.
This was a first visit, and it is my new favorite restaurant. The food is incredible. The service is fantastic. I highly recommend Gaetano's!!
This restaurant used be be our absolute favorite. Since the changes, we've tried it 3 more times, and always walk away a bit unimpressed.
The seating was prompt, and our table request was granted. But the service was really slow, and our server seemed really uninterested in being there. She made no attempt at acknowledging we were there for a birthday (why ask if you don't care?). She would disappear, it took forever for drinks, and after a half hour, empty glasses sat on the table. Finally the salads came. My salad was swimming in dressing, where my husband's had none. We had to mix them together. The salad croutons were stale. Then empty salad plates sat there until she brought the entrees, which took a really long time. I order $22 ravioli and got 5 small ravioli with a lame dollop of pesto on each one. The ravioli looked like it had been sitting out. They were dry and hard. She never came to check on us until she offered us dessert. No thanks. Our bill was nearly $100 for two before tip, and for a birthday celebration, made us wish we stayed home.
This place is wonderful! It was our first time visiting there and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. My wife and I were celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary and it couldn't have been better!! The food is fantastic, as well, and we will definitely return again sometime soon.
We always enjoy dining at Gaetano's. The food is good, as is the service. We especially like the Tasty Treats appetizer (an Italian sausage and peppers wrapped in pizza (?) dough with marinara dipping sauce) and all of the pasta dishes. My husband always seems to order fettucine alfredo or lasagna; I always stick with the linguine and clams. The Italian lemon cream cake for dessert is yummy, too. And on holidays like New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day there always seems to be a little something extra, like a complimentary glass of prosecco or a red rose for the ladies. Overall, it's a very pleasant experience.
