We loved Gaetanos! The attmospere was fantastic....the waitress knowledgable and very friendly. The wine list was very good. The servings were larger than I expected so we had leftovers. The dinner fantastic. i cant say enough about Gaetano's......other than I will return.

This was a special price-fix menu for Valentine's Day. I have dined here before and they have always had excellent food, but this meal was very disappointing overall. Portions very small, once course was served to both of (different dishes) cold. Very under-seasoned food throughout the four courses, under-cooked at times as well. Interesting choices, but poorly executed. I wish they would have stayed more to their Italian roots and flavors and I think it would have been much better. Overall very disappointing.

Terrible anniversary celebration. Short rib tough and tasted reheated same for the wild boar tenderloin which was served cold so it didn’t make it to the reheat shelf I guess. Can’t comment on the shaved beet salad because we never got it. Gelato was almost completely melted when it was served. Less then avererage food, terrible service and their menus need to be cleaned. Ick!

Gaetano's never disappoints. The service is outstanding and the food is delicious. My husband had the prime rib, and the seasonings rivaled any steak you'd find in downtown Chicago. I love their wine selection as well.

This was our second time here, but our first time eating inside. We had the scallop dish ( CAPESANTE CON PORRI) and the RIGATONI ALLA TRASTEVERINA. Both were excellent and I would definitely have them again. Prices are a tad higher than some of the other local favorites. We plan to go there again.

While the food here is excellent, I struggle with the service. Both times my gf and I have dined here we felt rushed through our meal. The restaurant requires that you order your appetizer and dinner course at the same time so that "they can make sure everything comes out at the right time." Both times we've accommodated this request and our dinner has come out while we still have food left on our appetizer plate. I've also felt like the server is competing for attention during our meal. He's checking in on us every few minutes, is full of stories, and really a little pushy as things go. He made sure to put the check down while we were in the middle of our dessert, and even took the time out to tease my kids about washing dishes while their mouths were full of food. I was very put off by the entire thing.
I do want to love this place. The food is excellent, I've not had better pasta in years. But for the price (I paid $185 including tip for a meal for 4 with no alcohol) and with the poor service, I'm not sure I'll be going back.

Food was outstanding and service was great. I absolutely love the decor! We sat in the upstairs and it reminded me of the Foundation Room in House of Blues. The only thing was that it would've been nice if the dessert I ordered was brought out with a candle for the birthday boy.

Tiny place with great food. No Restaurant Week menu was disappointing as we expected one. Excellent choices available for vegetarians.
