Gabriel's - Santa Fe
Winter: Monday - Thursday: 2:30pm - 9:00pm, Friday - Sunday: 11:30am - 9:00pm
Summer: Monday - Thursday: 2:30pm - 9:30pm, Friday - Sunday: 2:30pm - 10:00pm
If you are a foodie or expect authentic Mexican food, skip this restaurant. Everything we ordered lacked flavor, including the guacamole. The tortilla soup was unseasoned and the menu pedestrian, TexMex. With so many great Santa Fe options. Gabriels was very disappointing
I've been to Gabriel's many times and I'm usually very pleased.
This time was really unfortunate. We were a party of 9. The server was very friendly but our
Order was messed up. My daughter asked if the sauce had gluten. The server said he was going to check and never came back until the food was done. He just took it upon himself to leave the sauce off!!! The meal was centered around the sauce and leaving it off made it very bland.
My meal was The wrong selection. They gave me a completely different dish. They would have remade my dish but I would have gotten it as everyone else was finishing. Lame.
Our food had clearly been sitting under the heat lamp, for some time. Usually the fajitas come out sizzling, they were Luke warm and sitting in a soupy greasy mess.
If this had been the first time I visited Gabriel's I'd never return. It will still be a long time before I go back.....our bill was over 300 and I left feeling very unsatisfied.
The table side guac was delicious as usual and the margarita's were good. But that's it.
The only reason I gave 3 stars is from past good experiences.
Great selection of Mexican, New Mexican & Southwest food. Delicious!
Gabriel's never disappoints us, and we have been having Sunday lunch there forever! It was Father's Day, loads of people, a gorgeous patio - umbrellas, vibrant flowers and perfect flank steak.
Always nice New Mexican restaurant. Wonderful outdoor seating when the weather is nice.
They were very busy but we were seated immediately. Took a while to get a waiter for drinks but once we had ordered the drinks and food came quickly. Had to request water. Out of there in 45 minutes.
It was very lovely. Yhey gave us enough time to really relax together. Though I put under business because business paid, we are close and from different countries. The So Americans request me to take them every time they come up. Everyone enjoyed.
We have been to Gabriel’s several times and had a better experience, but this time the service was courteous but spotty and our meals were inconsistent. The steak dish was good but the fish and chicken left much to be desired.
Table side Guacamole is a must. Outdoor dining, weather permitting, is a must. 20 minutes north of santa fe nesteled in the mountains. Beautiful. Food is very good!
We have been there 4 times and has never disappointed! We will continue to go back and take friends!!
We have been to Gabriel's many times but I doubt that we will go again. The food was tasteless, the service was awful and it was a very unsatisfying experience.
Food excellent. Best table side guacamole. Great ambience. Love the outdoor patio and it's nice dogs are welcome.
Always great. The food is always good. You know you are safe to take guests and you will not be disappointed. The menu has something for everyone,
Waited 10 mins to be greeted by our server. Guacamole had too much lime. My personal order was a Carne Asada burrito and instead I got a carnitas. Lastly was charged for my daughters birthday flan. One of my favorites become one of those restaurants I’ll take a long break from. Very disappointing!
Lots of fun and good New Mexican food for our lunch. We sat in the patio and were glad there were table umbrellas. The margaritas were tasty. The home made guacamole was delicious. We loved our meal. The patio was very pleasant. Thank you. It was also a special occasion.
The food and ambiance were great. The service was poor. The manager was working twice as hard as everyone else. It appeared to be significantly understaffed for a Monday afternoon. We were not in a rush, so it all worked out fine, but if we had been in a hurry, things would have been different. The restaurant is great, and well worth the drive. I highly recommend the table side guacamole. They were also very accommodating to my daughter's food allergies. I recommend this restaurant, and hope that they have more servers in the future.
Our meal was delicious, including the guacamole that was made table side. I think our server forgot about us. He brought drinks and never came back until the very end of our meal. We would have liked another beer as well as more salsa. We sat outside on the patio and it was a beautiful evening. We enjoyed ourselves even with the lack of attention from our server.
Great atmosphere. Great New Mexican food. Table side guacamole top shelf and highly recommend. Crab enchiladas my favorite.
Wonderful food and service! Gabriel's is always consistent. Will be back again!
Consistently great. Exceptionally good server, super efficient, warm, fun and the Real Deal. the mole is to DIE for. Just fantastic. Great Silver Coin Margarita and delicious salsa with the chips. I'll be back many times. :)
Wonderful experience—delicious food.
Gabriel's is in a unique location, north of Santa Fe and not terribly close to anything, but has awesome food in a great setting. The patio seating affords views of the mountains and time to enjoy the evening breezes we are often blessed with in NM. The food is all great, the chips being my favorite, thicker than normal and no salt, but the salsa is salty to make up for it. Everything we ate was delicious, our only quibble is that the check took a long time to come, so don't expect to just grab a quick bit (we enjoy sitting and talking, so this is a plus in our minds)
Guacamole made table side. Great food. Many vegetarian options. Nice sunny patio with fountain. Popular place and I can see why.
The food was decent, and the location and ambience was really nice. The service not so nice. The waiter did not greet us, was not friendly, and was gone for long periods of time.
I love Gabriel's and am NEVER disappointed there! We had a delicious lunch for mother's day and once again it didn't disappoint. Minor complaint was that we were right by the kitchen so it was super loud and the light above us was going out and flashing a bit. Otherwise, perfect!
Even though they were very crowded we were waited on as soon as we were seated.
Food came out very fast.
Great food and ambiance, but service was slow. We had to flag our server down several times throughout the evening.
Gabriel's is a great place to eat anytime of year. During cold weather, dining indoors by the fireplace is lovely, but my favorite time is during warm weather months when the patio is open. The food is authentic New Mexico cuisine. The margaritas are great, and there is a good selection of beers. While not inexpensive, the guacamole made to order at your table-side is a delicious starter. There is a consistent quality in the variety of dishes offered, from tamales to burritos to chicken mole and beyond. Just try to save room for sopaipillas for dessert. Servers are friendly, courteous and efficient. Gabriel's does a good job of handling group dining, too; we have hosted groups up to 25 people and all has gone very well. The setting is also authentic New Mexican, nestled just off Interstate 25 in Cuyamungue. Reservations are recommended for weekend dining, as there is usually a line in the evening.
We brought friends visiting from California and they were impressed with facilities and enjoyed their menu items very much.
Food is good and portions ample. Service is efficient and cheerful.
The first dinner on the patio this year. One of the best outdoor dining experiences in Santa Fe.
Excellent!! Best meal in Santa Fe thus far! The seafood fajitas were amazing!!
The food was good but it took forever to get our food.
Outstanding seafood(scallop red snapper prawns) fajitas and a huge bowel of posole loaded with vegetables Guacamole was made to taste at the table great meal
Beautiful outdoor view area
Good margaritas, not so good food. There are better places to go for well prepared Mexican food.
Great Guacamole, very good prickly pear margarita, but fajitas just ok. Same experience as in the past, great guac and good drinks, but meals just average at best.
Always good!! A must stop and eat when in Santa Fe!!!
Great alternative/substitute for loud, crowded, somewhat overpriced establishments in the Santa Fe Plaza area. The 20 minute drive out of town is well worth it. The menu offers a wide variety of authentic Southwest dishes with local healthy, tasty ingredients. Excellent food, good value, fun casual ambiance. Highly recommend, and will visit again on my next trip to Santa Fe.
Always a great place to gather with friends for a casual dinner.
One of our favorites, just outside of Santa Fe! Food is consistently excellent, fun and relaxed!
