Gabriel's - Santa Fe
It'a a very nice place romantic very nice view up in the hill nice and cozy you would like it up there I would recommend anybody to go out there and check it out guarantee that you will love it
The food is fantastic and is not to be missed, but our waiter was clearly inexperienced and we had trouble getting what we needed. That said, we all left feeling we had a good experience.
Table side guacamole is wonderful. Food was very good. For some reason the night we were there, the service was not that great. We had to find the manager twice to get our waiter for service.
Sergio, our waiter was outstanding. He made a lasting impression. The food, the views are all wonderful. We celebrated our anniversary there. Celebrating there will become a tradition.
We have wanted to go to Gabriel's for a longtime and we were not disappointed. We went again for lunch a few days later.
The only comment that I had was, granted we were there late into the evening and we sat outside. When out food arrived, it was fairly dark and the lighting was not very good. We frequent Gabriel's often so I knew what I was eating but the outdoor lighting was terrible.
Just a suggestion that more lights be added to the patio area. Other than that, everything was great.
Except for the mountain views from the patio, nothing rates above average.
I am always disappointed when there are no smiles from hostess or wait staff. This was Father's Day.
The food is mediocre. The highlight was the young man who made the guacamole at table-side. I asked him how many he had made and he said probably close to a thousand. He had done some at a community event in Santa Fe the previous day. He was happy to admit the children enjoyed. I was so impressed with this young man.
When I ordered a margarita with a double shot of Patron, I expected perhaps a tall Margarita. I said no salt. I was served a small margarita with salt, and a shot glass of tequila. Not being a shot person, I was taken back.
We were staying in Santa Fe, so I thought I distant restaurant from the city might be fun. I was disappointed.
Great food, great people, great service!!! Highly recommended.
Excellent food and friendly service! I always enjoy Gabriel's.
Pleasant facility. Solid Mexican food fairly priced.
Always love Gabriel’s when we visit Santa Fe.
My Spouse and I went to Gabriel's this week for her Birthday . Several friend's had recommended Gabriel's and I am glad we listed to their praise for Gabriel's
Guacamole was made table side and it was delicious! Our service was excellent and the food was very good. Our wait time was minimal and our server quickly and easily attended to our needs.
Our guests ask to go back - their previous visit went well. This time we were seated in the back. Service was inconsistent. Our food arrived lukewarm. All in all, an off night.
Been going to Gabe's for years....been out of the country for 2 months and couldn't wait to get some good guac. The guac was OK but need salsa...Something was off...just didn't taste as good as usual....Fajatas took forever to get to the table...side guac looked horrible...asked for salsa that never came..didn't have any pico de gallo or sour cream...Fajitas were good but would have been better with salsa...My friends two beef tacos were terrible. Service was awful and the place wasn't even full. Won't be back for awhile.
Went to Gabriel's to celebrate our adult son's birthday. The staff brought him some flan with a candle in it and sang to him robustly. Delicious margaritas and food and wonderful staff! Thank you so much!
We always make it a point to go to Gabriel's when in Santa Fe. We often meet friends there or introduce it to new comers.
Our favorite thing at Gabriel's is the table side preparation of guacamole. Especially when that table is outside near the fountain on a pleasant evening.
Outside patio was lovely. Food always consistently good.
Good destination to bring out-of-state visitors to enjoy getting there as well as eating there.
Always enjoy Gabriels. The food is always good and the portions
are filling. Service was prompt and the waiter very attentive. And
as always I love when they make guacamole at the table!
We enjoyed the food and the service, however, I had to leave the restaurant and sit in the car while my husband waited for the bill. I couldn't finish my meal, because the noise level became EXTREMELY LOUD by 7 PM and I got claustrophobic.
Once the patio opens, we will try them again.
We always ask for Orlando to be our server. Orlando is always very attentive to our needs!
We've been to Gabriel's a few times prior and the level of service, food and ambiance was much higher than what we experienced in May of 2019. Seems like things have gone downhill a bit since the last time we went, which is unfortunate - it used to be a favorite. Was definitely subpar this time around, noisy and not clean.
Excellent food. Love the indoor and outdoor dining. Service was about medium. I think just because its always busy because i always see people hustling. Love that you can make reservations online. Table side guacamole mixing is a nice twist. Great time overall. Been there a few times.
We had a great time with friends Saturday night here. Try the frozen mango margarita, even if you think you don't like them frozen. I recommend the fajitas and the tacos al carbon - and of course the tableside guacamole. Everything is so good at Gabriel's and it's always fun.
Got there at 8:00...a lot of people were leaving. Got seated right away but we’re ignored for over 10 minutes. Waiter finally brought us chips and salsa but nothing else... not even water. Had to flag down a waiter just to get water. Waited another 5 or 6 minutes before our waiter finally showed up. Ordered the fresh guacamole and margaritas which came quickly. The fresh made guacamole was excellent. We ordered crab enchiladas and chili’s rellano. The service for the rest of night was good but the crab and mesquite chicken were not fresh at all. The sides were good (beans, corn, etc). Overall not a great experience...so so at best.
The table side guacamole is fantastic!!!
A standard for years. Always enjoy the Guacamole made fresh at the table!
We brought some friends from out of town for a "taste of New Mexico" - The service & ambiance were excellent and most of the food was good, except for the fish tacos which I've ordered in the past...the fish was very "rubbery" & tasteless. Other entrees were very good.
The food was delicious - small bowl of fresh guacamole, half a barbecued chicken, and brochettes de
Mariscos. Desert was the biggest sundae in the place - ice cream, whipped cream and drizzled Carmel. How could you beat that?
Arrived at 11:30, relaxed table for 5, ( 3 were children) food was great, seating area was perfect for relaxing , out of main traffic . Table side guacamole was outstanding .
The guacamole is awesome the margaritas are good thefood is ok
Dinner food was terrible. Tamale was dried out hard & tasteless. Green sauce was tasteless & minimal. Red says tasted bottled. Cheese was orange like velveeta. Have lunched here recently & food was very good.
Super long wait (1 hour ) even though we had a reservation. It was Mother’s Day, so the crowd was unusual, but the hostess could have been more realistic and set our expectations, instead of telling us 15-20 mins. Test being said, once seated, the food was great and the service was good.
I had a 5:30 reservation and wasn’t seated until 6:30. The hosted gave no apologies.
We went for dinner on Mother’s Day. The place was pretty crowded as one would expect but it became clear they were not able to maintain their typical excellent service and food quality under these circumstances. We had a 5:30PM reservation but weren’t seated until 6:15. We were seated on their outdoor patio but the temperature began to drop and the wind started to kick up. Even though we had jackets, it was not comfortable. Food took about 40 minutes to arrive and one could tell it was prepared without their usual care. The table side guacamole was not as good as it usual and was prepared by someone not well trained in the process. We’ll go back but not on a high demand day.
They had an issue in the kitchen - our reservation was for 2:15 - we were seated at 2:50 - not pleased with the wait!
We were there on the Saturday before Mother's Day and had to wait for about 45 minutes, even though we had reservations. However, we marveled at how the staff was doing its best to get everyone in and settled -- it was VERY busy. The service was excellent and the food was even better so we will most certainly go back and we WILL recommend it to others.
Even on a very busy night, Gabriel's has great food and service. Best guacamole ever - made at the table. Nice mix of traditional Mex food with some unique specialities. Been going there for years and always good.
