Gabriel's - Santa Fe
Came for my birthday and had a great time, not sure why we don't come more often. The service is great, the food is amaizing and can't stop singing all the great Mexican music in the background.
Not worth a drive out of town. Doubt if I would go back even if it were close by; lots of much better options in Santa Fe.
The food was good, but the place where we were seated next to a table of 8 very loud people made it not an enjoyable location for a date night. I had requested in my reservation to be seated on the patio if the weather was okay and the patio wasn't open. Also, I did specify that the occasion was for a date night, but my husband and I had to shout at each other across the table like we were in a bar or at a ball game. There wasn't enough spacing of time between the appetizer and the entree. Not a very enjoyable night for a ticket cost of over $80 for two people.
They seemed not to know we had a reservation. Never offered a refill on water, my only beverage. Food was yummy. Far too noisy.
ABQ was crazy busy with Balloon Fiesta people. Decided to drive up to Santa Fe to dine at Gabriel’s. Glad we did. Table side guacamole is a must, the Seafood Fajitas wonderful, as well as the Fish Tacos. During our vacation, we have eaten at Gabriel’s 3 times, we like it that much.
Thanks so much, we had dinner at Gabriel’s three times when we were in Santa Fe for a short visit . . . it was always a wonderful experience! Can’t wait to come back!
As always, the setting was beautiful and the service was excellent. Sergio was especially attentive to our party of 4, and the young man who prepared our table-side guacamole was friendly and did a great job. I'm already looking forward to our next visit.
The woman who greeted us simply stared. No “hello”, no smile, nothing. So I had to greet her instead, and tell her we had a reservation.
The waiter pushed me to get a pricier margarita, instead of the house margarita, which I asked for.
The guacamole at the table was excellent, best part of the meal.
We met at Gabriel’s many years ago with friends before the opera, and it was simply wonderful.
This time, not so much.
You might think about training the greeter.
It didn’t not seem that any of the wait staff was assigned to our table. We waited for long periods of time for our drinks, our order to be taken, and for the check. I will say the food (once we received it after an hour of sitting around) was delicious, but the poor service dampened whatever appetite I had. I will not be returning.
Always a fun time!
This was a big disappointment. While the write up by the restaurant talks about the chef being a James Beard contender that was years ago and the food was simply bland and what you would expect from a chain.
The staff was lovely and it was apparent it was a local favorite...but there is not much in the area as competition.
It was also far out of town and I could not get an Uber back, something to consider if you decide to try the place.
We’d eat at Gabriel’s every night if we could! The variety on the menu is amazing, and my 2 favorites are Enchiladas Verduras and Carnitas. The ambiance is delightful, and we prefer to eat outside with the fountain burbling away.
The food, the service, the atmosphere were all wonderful. I am a vegan and my husband is a vegetarian and the menu had a section for vegetarian items. I just had them leave off the dairy on mine and it was great. It was our 37th anniversary celebration and I would recommend Gabriel's to anyone. We will definitely be going back!
Service was fantastic and everyone had a very enjoyable meal. Definitely recommend the guacamole prepared at the table. That's always a favorite.
We were seated at our reservation time. The waiter brought water but never returned! We were going to order a cocktail and guacamole, but left after 20 minutes. The waiter passed by numerous times and not once said he would be with us in a minute. We all had a good experience last time we dined here but it had been a couple years! Gabriel’s lost 4 customers.
My husband and I love to eat at Gabriel’s every time we are in Santa Fe! Food is great and when weather permits we love to eat on the patio! The service has always been exceptional as well. Can’t wait to visit you again.
Great Experience every time!!!
So the food was good even though a little pricey, but I asked for a refill on my tea and the kid forgot to bring it. If I go back I am going to bring it up to you right away. Why, I am curious, don't we get sopaipillas with our plate right away? I like 'em and I think it's a great touch.
Enjoyed sitting on the patio for lunch. The service was attentive and the food good.
The marinated pork was out of this world! Sauce was tangy, and pork was lean and tender.
It was our Anniversary and the staff made it very special.
One of my favorites! Great fresh, quality food! Beautiful patio for outdoor dining...feels like being in Old Mexico. Fajitas and tableside guacamole are the best!
Food was very good but poor service. Server took our order and never came back. I had to chase him and others for drink refills and finally the check.
We heard that it can be long wait so we dined early. About 15 minute drive from downtown Santa Fe, beautiful setting just off the freeway. Good variety of Mexican favorites along with the not to be missed tableside guacamole .
Service was good and friendly.
My wife and have been going to Gabriel's for about 15 years every time we are in Santa Fe. We love this place and probably our favorite Mexican restaurant in the Santa Fe area. Outstanding table side made-to-order guacamole. Great food with lots of choices. Outside seating is excellent and even has a good view.
We had a long standing reservation. We had four handicapped people in our group. When we arrived on time they refused to get our table ready and left the handicapped people standing in a great deal of pain. They were extremely rude and uncooperative. Do not recommend at all!
Awesome place. Queso is some of the best I have ever had. Tamale was exceptional. The chicken with the chicken fajitas was a little bland. Not much flavor. John the waiter was on top of his game. Very helpful and attentive.
Service was not the best. No mention was made of our special occasion (anniversary) although I clicked it when I made the reservation.
Lovely place. Nice atmosphere. Food wonderful. Try the Silver Margarita. It’s the best!
Good, authentic southwestern food, attentive staff and a comfortable atmosphere.
Food was good-service was very slow.
The table side guacamole is outstanding, and a must! Chimichangas were really good. This is a quaint out of the way place that is a favorite of locals. Good food, generous portions, great value.
We are visiting from Arizona and Gabriel's was recommended by a Santa Fe friend. It was truly outstanding. Sat outside on the lovely patio, service was great, margaritas terrific and each of the 4 of us had something different and all dishes were outstanding. And the table side guacamole, to die for. Such a delightful way to spend a summer afternoon. Go try this place - you will be delighted!!
Lunch with girlfriends and EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS and FUN👍
I have been to Gabriels twice and I enjoy the food but it doesn’t rise to the level of excellent. My chile relents were over cooked and I couldn’t taste the chiles. My previous visit was much better.
Middle of the road food and service. Not worth drive from Santa Fe. Much better restaurants in town. Great ambiance and guacamole made tables side the only pluses.
Gabriel’s is one of our favorite restaurants in the Santa Fe area. I’m not a vegetarian, but I really enjoyed their vegetarian fajitas. We were there on Indian Market weekend, and there was a large crowd of people without reservations, but with reservations we were seated promptly. Service was prompt, and we very much enjoyed our meals. The tableside guacamole preparation is exceptional.
Flies were numerous and persistent; please invest in fly control.
Seafood enchiladas were overcooked; corn tortillas were excellent.
This is one of the best restaurants for authentic New Mexico food. We loved the food and the location is beautiful. When the weather permits, the outside seating is lovely. The drive from Santa Fe isn't too bad and it is well worth it for the excellent food.
Waited to get seated, no one approached us even though there were plenty of staff all around us. Frustrating.
