We came to celebrate birthday and had a really good time.
I preferred the menu as it use to be. I like choosing my own food not being told what to eat , very disappointing experience. What ate was very good but didn’t like everything I was served.
Elegant dining room. Multi-course menu well prepared but a bit random. Service was chaotic and not at par with other Michelin Star Restaurants we have enjoyed.
Food was fabulous, although served in an unconventional manner (some dishes were meant to be shared between two people). The sommelier was excellent, very knowledgable and fun to talk to. He recommended a wine from Savoir that paired beautifully with the lighter courses.
An extraordinary meal
This was the most money I have ever spent in my life on dinner for two ! Unfortunatly shortly after leaving I became very ill . Not making any corrilation nessesarily, but something wasn't right. However the staff was excellent !
Enjoyable experience, great service and a very tasty selection of food.
Fantastic experience . Lunch menu is great value and the food and service is stunning
Fantastic anniversary dinner! The room was beautiful and the service and food were amazing.
We had a wonderful meal the other evening. But i don't like the change in the format of the Heritage menu. There are no more options on the menu, but in three courses along the way one of us got one dish and the other got another. Sometimes we had to trade dishes to get what we preferred. This is annoying. Since my husband and i know the previous menus, we each have preferences. Why not let diners choose which dish they'd prefer? i don't know whether i'd recommend GK to a friend under this regime.
Go. It’s awesome, worth every penny.
Gabriele Kruether is one of the finest dining experiences we have ever had. It's simply superb. One item that other reviewers haven't noted however, are the very original and unique hand-made services pieces. Our wait person said many are hand made and I think works of art. Then to top each piece with such creative culinary delights, served beautifully is truly dining at it's finest.
Fabulous food and service
Everything was excellent except:
Everything tasted a bit too salty for us.
In my 3 days visiting trip in New York, I accidentally found this restaurant and decided to try this new stars. The experience of dining at this restaurant was surprisingly good and beyond my expectation. The service was professional than many 2 stars restaurants in the US. The foods were not just expensive ingredients, I believe the chef gave souls to the foods because everything tasted so balanced and elegant. I especially love the sauces he made to match the foods, made the foods more delicious but not burden the foods original flavor. Portions are satisfying me as well. Everything was perfect dining at this restaurant!
We had a wonderful experience, everything tasted great and service was impeccable!
Stunning. I wouldn’t have changed a single thing on the plate. Perfectly plated, perfectly seasoned, and creative food. We dined for lunch on the foie gras to start (the sesame gives a smoky touch to the foie gras) and the sturgeon tart (the crispy pastry, the silky sturgeon, and the acid, but fruity sauerkraut dance around each other) and then the confit duck (the patty pan squash are late summer on a plate) and the monkfish (cooked translucent to perfection). Wines were brilliantly selected (thanks, Sam). I have eaten 3* places that don’t match this.
Customer service is not their first priority. I would think with their over over the top prices that they would treat their customers a little better. The main bartender actually yelled at me and the manager treated my husband and I so cold that we felt very uncomfortable and couldn’t wait to pay and leave. Would not recommend this restaurant at all
The only real disappointment was that my wife was made to feel quite embarrassed by the server when she didn’t finish her duck main course, because she was full. He was quite direct in asking what was wrong with the dish and even inspected her plate to see how much she had eaten! Unfortunately that is now her recollection of the dinner, despite everything else being excellent
Outstanding from start to finish. Well deserving of 2 Michelin stars and Relais & Chateaux label.
Excelente lugar, comida deliciosa. Súper servicio. Vale muchísimo la pena
Superb food and service!
Be prepared to spend a small fortune at this over the top restaurant for the 1%
I came with a business colleague; it was superb, but I realized later I would have been just as happy with 3 courses. A tasting menu strains your ability to really enjoy the food, as it is mostly about the show. and it is really hard to justify the bill.
A perennial favorite, my husband and I were so happy to hear that GK had gotten another Michelin star, because its deserves it. Wonderful service without being stuffy, attentiveness and attention to detail without being overbearing. The food here is wonderful and it's great to see some new dishes on the menu, while some of the classics remain. A must-visit for special occasions and celebrations. If you want a la carte, walk in and sit in the bar area.
We were not acknowledged for 30 minutes after we were seated. We ordered cocktails 40 minutes after being seated and they arrived with the incorrect drinks.
Once they got into the sync of the night everything else was very good. I expected
more for a 2-star Michelin Restaurant.
Great food and service. Very much like the format where you never are sure what will come next. Wife does bot eat meat and they just substituted seafood and veggies. That being said if you are very picky maybe not your place as you never know exactly what is coming next!
Wife birthday. Very welcoming with a nice card and then a dessert special with a personalized touch. Fantastic experience.
It was amazing.
FOOD AND PRESENTATION WERE EXCELLENT
IT WAS EXTREMELY CREATIVE WITH THEIR PRESENTATION
WE LOVED EVERYTHING
Excellent experience all around. Perfect.
Each time the food gets better and better. Food and service once seated was fabulous. Unfortunately the hostess was quite rude, but aside from her everyone else was wonderful. Must visit!
A wonderful way to end a day of walking the streets of NYC. Staff were attentive and knowable without being distractive. Expensive but for a night out that became special, well worth it.
The food is exquisite. With a menu that changes daily it’s hard to get all the courses and treats to perfection but they do. I was happy that my favorite Alsatian sauerkraut based tart was served, but wouldn’t have had cause to complain had it not been. The service matches up to the ambitions of the kitchen. Although I dine at many restaurants, this one remains my answer to the question “If you could dine in only one restaurant which would it be?”
Food was excellent. Interesting but not too weird. The chef obviously pays close attention to detail in the flavors textures and presentation.
Service was outstanding. Everyone was friendly and interested and seemed to really enjoy being there.
Can't wait to go back.
Inventive tasting menu. Solid service. Beautiful ambiance.
Food is great especially pork, sesame ball foie gras and chocolate of course!!!! And highly recommend if you need to bring baby! Their space is very family friendly! Waiters are sooo sweet!
Who knew a French restaurant would have us walking away with our bellies full and saying... Wow, that was actually a great value. But we did!
The Gabriel Kreuther's Heritage Tasting Menu filled both my wife and I, per-theater as we celebrated our wedding anniversary. The meal started off with several sea based plates and then was capped off with amazing (and generous) cuts of duck breast, followed by a wide array of chocolate deserts. The atmosphere is open, modern and gorgeous, while the service is warm and friendly. Definitely deserving of 2 Michelin Stars (maybe 3!).
We highly recommend Gabriel to anyone dining in Midtown for a special occasion.
Great service and delicious food. I’ll come again.
Most wonderful experience in every way. Sommelier choose perfect wine. (Not any easy task) The ambiance was lovely. My taste buds were intrigued. The pork loin flight was magnificent. Truly the experience of a lifetime
