Gabriel Kreuther Ratings and Reviews
It was one of the best food and wine experience. The decor is rustic elegant with the raw wood and nice art work. The staff is extremely attentive and notice everything without being constantly at the table. The food is amazing too. We had the chef’s tasting with high end wine pairing which was absolutely delicious and perfection. I will definitely recommend it to everyone for a special occasion since it is definitely not cheap but well worth the experience.
We went for my husbands birthday. The service was impeccable, they even printed happy birthday to my husband on the menu and gave us a surprise dessert with a birthday message! The food was so unique and delicious. Great place for special occasions. Wish we reserved inside the kitchen for the special table!
Beautiful room. Comfortable seating, but more importantly, the food is absolutely wonderful. Each dish had so many flavors and textures to them. It made for a fun palate. Absolutely loved the pork tenderloin and ambrosial for dessert. Staff was very attentive. Just a lovely experience overall.
How this place does not yet have a second Michelin star is a mystery. Having dined in several 3 star restaurants around the world, the food is as creative and delicious as many of the 3 star restaurants I have been to and service was just as seemless and excellent including small details like spelling my wife’s nane (correctly!) on her birthday menu. Sommelier gets a shoutout, great choice on the Paul Hobbs Pinot Noir...exactly what I was looking for to accompany the meal. The 4 course menu is quite deceptive in that between all the little additions, breads and dessert chocolates there was a lot of food, especially if you order the lamb rack which really could serve 3. Very accomodating of our food allergies. Delicious and well done for a special night out in a really lovely restaurant.
We were very impressed with the restaurant and it’s decor and placement and use of the timbers.
The mixed media and the abumdance of assortments of flowers. The staff was incredibly attentive and extremely professional.
Must not overlook the obsulute presentation of each meal. A surprise every time.
Enjoy it’s elegance and exquisite flavors.
Beautiful room, outstanding service in that the waiter knew every detail about the food and drinks and was genuinely nice with no trace of arrogance. The wine steward was excellent and not haughty about his knowledge. The food was very elegant and imaginative. The restaurant is very expensive but worth it for a truly special night.
The service from the time we entered he restaurant was impeccable. We arrived early for our reservation and sat at the bar for 10 minutes. We had cocktails at the bar and then we were escorted to our table. Every employee told us Happy Anniversary and we even received personalized menus commemorating our anniversary. We will definitely be back when we are in NYC again.
It was phenomenal from start to finish. Daniel was our server and he paid close attention to every detail. He took us into the kitchen for a tour and to meet chef Joe. He made our evening magical. The food was incredible. We enjoyed the chef’s tasting menu and course after course was delicious. Can’t wait to return.
My wife, daughter and I had such a magnificent experience last night. ( Dec 12).
Every detail exceeded my expectations. Enter a space with handsome timbers from Alsace-Lorraine setting the stage.
How special is it that a coat check doesn’t need a number? My napkin fell, and a fresh was presented instantly with a no touch technique. Details.
Travis navigated is through the menu with such humble brilliance. The timing of offering and removal of table ware was orchestrated subtly and efficiently- and with smiles. Each part of the team was knowledgeable about the food drinks and the restaurant.
Not to mention the food. Unexpected treats to start- amuse bouche indeed. The tastes of the savory were so pure but complex. And each specialty looked too beautiful to eat, then tasted even better. I usually don’t eat dessert, but happy I didn’t fast this time.
Oh, my. Over the top experience. I was in New York for only a short weekend and wanted a special dining adventure. I found this restaurant researching "top restaurants," and it was a short walk from the hotel (near-zero temperatures!). I did the Carte Blanche tasting menu with wine. It was the most I have ever spent for a meal alone, but it was worth every penny. I had 17 small courses with 11 wines along the way. They gave me a chef-autographed list of the food and wine I ate at the end. So cool and fun. Impeccable in every way. Wow.
Proposed to my now fiancé in the middle of Grand Central Terminal and went right over for one of the most memorable meals we have had. Beautiful décor and carefully prepared and presented food that made for a quiet, but strong, wow. I would recommend it for a special occasion. The service was understated, but very attentive and professional. For those who like new tastes and enjoy the aesthetics of high cooking.
I am not going to suggest Gariel for any one type of occasion, because many different seemed to be in play. Let me say that the dinner we had, price fixed, was one of the finest meals we have ever had inclusive of every top restaurant in NYC we have dined at.
The room is open, airy, contemporary but comfy.
Ste staff is cordial, polite, attentive but not bothersome.
The food. The food is incredible. We ate anything, everything, that was on the table. Outstanding were Foie Gras Terrine (we never order Foie Gras and never will again because it will disappoint after last night); Langoustine Tartare was excellent; roasted black bass was in an amazing sauce that I could have even eaten without the fish but Susi's Grilled lobster was great.
The deserts was stunning and they gave us a third with anniversary wishes on it.
Definitely not worth the money. There are much better values in NYC. Food is good, but service was sorely lacking. We waited over 30 minutes after being seated before any food came. They were very quick to offer the caviar that was over $150 for an ounce, but once we declined that, we were essentially ignored for the next half hour. We were there for my 51st birthday, and did not receive any type of acknowledgement about it at dessert, while we watched the table next to us get a pretty dessert with a candle. The prix fixe with wine pairing was exorbitantly priced ($255+$215), and the amount of wine was quite small (less than 3 full glasses). Stay away from this place unless you want to overpay for mediocre service.
