Great meals at great prices
The food was overall very good as was the service. We thought the corn soup with crab and the foie gras terrine were the highlights of the meal. The tarragon in the soup was pleasant and a great touch, you could taste sweet crab and it was not offset by the sweet summer corn. The foie gras was a very generous portion with fresh flavorful strawberries and light brioche. The Salzburger nokerl and schnitzel were also excellent (though a few large chunks of burnt sugar in the nokerl could have been avoided). The heirloom tomato starter with lobster was a bit of a miss, with good ingredients not coming together as one. Everything else was very good, but all with some slight issues, but the value was very good, $89 for four courses and a really nice $60 wine. However, I really felt that with just a few bits of greater attention to detail, Wallse would go from being a 'fantastic deal' to one of the best restaurants in town. MoreOpenTable Diner -
Nice night... wife and I went to dinner Saturday night. We had a 9pm reservation and got there a few minutes early and were seated right away. Friendly waitress took our drink order; a Black sheep and Johnny fashion seed, both very tasty. Shared grilled octopus and cured salmon appetizers both outstanding. We asked for a little time before main course and waitress who was very good came back to us about 20 minutes or so later to ask if we were ready. We were and we also asked for help with the wine list since it featured German and Austrian wines and we’re not familiar with those regions.. being new she sent over another waiter who was kind enough to assist. Dinner selections were crabmeat linguini and squid ink pasta both excellent with portions just enough to be full but not stuffed. After dinner the chef popped his head out of the kitchen and came by our table .. we had a great chat, very nice young man... we wish him great success. He was kind enough to send us a terrific blueberry based dessert... great place, great food. We would definitely go back! MoreOpenTable Diner -
