My wife and I went here recently for her birthday. We took advantage of the $80 after 8:00 pm deal. The food was fantastic and our waiter was amazing. He went out of his way to wish my wife a happy birthday. He also gave us a special dessert since she did not like the options on the $80 after 8:00 menu. We will be going back soon! More

We loved the food and beer selection at City Tap. The services was very good. Had a great table in smaller room next to main dining area. It was 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon in winter and they were packed. Luckily I had made a reservation for 1 pm and they were able to seat us right away however people who did not have a reservation were given a wait time of 1+ hours More

Really good food. The risotto and Mac n Cheese are amazing. Also, the salmon is really good. We were a group of six and shared the flatbread as an appetizer; it was excellent and enough as a starter! Really good ambiance, we went for a birthday celebration and it was a great place for it! More

We did the omakase and it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Worth the money! Chef Nick and Chef Nick are BRILLIANT! The only reason I marked down for service is because I ordered food to go including rice but when I got home I didn't have any rice. It was too late to call and request one so I just let it go and made rice myself. Otherwise I will recommend Laughing Monk any day of the week for any occaision. More

French | Back Bay, Boston

1855 – the year of the first official classification of Bordeaux wines following the World’s Fair in Paris.  Bordeaux is, of course, known as being one of the most prestigious wine regions of the world and a good glass of Bordeaux is a rite of passage for learning to love a good bottle of wine. This was the inspiration for our bar à vin (wine bar) – to inspire a love of wine.
1855’s wine list is comprised of more than 250 different varieties of French wine, not only from Bordeaux, but from all across France. Above and beyond including well-known classics on the list at 1855, we wanted to highlight some of the little known gems that can be discovered from boutique, small batch vineyards.

The 1855 Bar à Vin also features traditional French cuisine, served primarily in the form of delicious small plates, thus presented in a more casual and shareable way than at a traditional restaurant. However, we also offer full course menus for those who want to stay for dinner. More
