I really loved the elk stroganoff and my husband the elk medallions. The noodles for the stroganoff were the perfect texture, a bit chewy but not tough. The sauces for both dishes were right on. Our waiter seemed a bit tired so that may have affected his service. He was friendly and mostly on top of things just seemed overly frazzled. Hope his night got better. I had a 6:30pm reservation but we got there almost an hour earlier and were able to be seated. We were seated toward the back so the noise level was comfortable which would not have been the case closer to the bar. The table was a smidge small but it worked as we didn’t order a lot of sides. I’d say the price of the meal was in line with the quality of the food. I’d go back and try a steak or the scallops.

I made a reservation for my husband and I to celebrate our Anniversary. We showed up on time and they had a window table open for us. It was pretty loud but being by the window provided less noise and it was simply perfect. We indulged in a three course meal and loved every bite. You can’t get an experience like this anywhere else in Montana. Multiple courses were prepared in front of us and the serving staff was off the charts. At the end of our meal the staff gave us a free dessert and played a classic Frank Sinatra song for us to dance to in honor of our anniversary. 10/10 will be going back.

This is about the 4th time eating at this restaurant. I have never had a disappointing meal. I will always recommend the Windmill.
