Lovely place- quiet, elegant, unique. The food was remarkable, portions small but even my outsized husband found it ample. Rich, complex flavors, gorgeous presentations, and perfect service make this a stand out restaurant for special occasions. More

Welcome to Sawatdee - Saint Paul!
Serving award-winning Thai cuisine since 1983, Sawatdee is home to Thai food, sushi, a great happy hour, live music, and impeccable service.
When we first opened our doors at 1983, the Sawatdee mission was simple: to take our community on an adventure full of Thai flavors and good times. Many years later, that adventure is still as exciting as ever. Not only we expanded with more restaurants to share our flavors with more folks, we've added to to the flavors we offer, as well!
Sawatdee Saint Paul was the first Sawatdee which opened in 1983. Located in lowertown, it has been referred to as "the old Sawatdee" since it closed to make way for the new. With a new location on Robert Street in downtown Saint Paul, "the old Sawatdee" is now "the new Sawatdee," offering you a full menu of authentic Thai cuisine that we are famous for plus a full bar.

Discover St. Paul

The Midwestern metropolis of St. Paul has gained a reputation for its unique brand of rural chic. The expansive restaurant scene aptly reflects the city's diverse influences. Abundant grills, gastropubs and steakhouses pay homage to the area's agricultural assets. Upscale Italian, Russian and French cuisine will satisfy the most discerning foodies. See how Saint Paul does the farm-to-table trend with dishes like bacon-wrapped meatloaf. Locally sourced fish is also on the menu by way of planked salmon. If you're curious about local chefs' take on contemporary cuisine, some of the best restaurants offer affordable tasting menus. Sweet corn foam, anyone? When all else fails, this Twin City is full of comfort food. Chicken pot pie is a local favorite.
