I really like this pub particularly for its riverside setting (I've only ever sat outside). The Sunday roast we had was good and I'd give it 4 stars. However this is the 2nd occasion out of the 3 times I've had dessert at the pub that I've been quite shocked at the quality. The first time was a truly awful chocolate brownie. This time, two of us ordered 'mixed berry Eton mess' which I thought would be safe enough (how can you ruin something so simple?) but we were presented with 'mixed berry Eton mess sundae' which was mostly vanilla ice cream, with some bits of meringue and maybe a bit of cream and a sickly sweet mixed berry syrup that tasted rather like strawberry jam (no fresh fruit at all) and a slightly stale tasting waffle cone on top. And to charge £9 for that! I will keep coming here because I love the area but it's the last time I'll order dessert. It really lets down the pub.

Honestly from the outside I wasn’t going to go in because it didn’t look very nice but husband said let’s just have a look and I’m so glad we did. The food was the best steak I’ve ever had, cooked to perfection. The atmosphere, service, food was 10/10

So pleased to finally get a booking and it was worth the wait! Superb food In quirky and relaxed surroundings with lovely staff - couldn’t ask for more. Thank you Stark we will be back soon!

Fabulous!! Accommodated 18 of us and the food, service and value for money was incredible! Highly recommended!
