We sat at a high top on a Sunday before PPAC show. Our server was so personable and we liked him, but he didn't visit our table enough. My salad didn't have enough dressing and by the time he came back for me to ask for more dressing our entrees came out. Then I noticed a .50 charge for the extra dressing...that seemed weird. Beer selection was great and wine prices reasonable, our steak frittes were excellent.
Overall great experience, good wasn’t cooked to order is only problem.
Went for the table games to have fun and celebrate 2 birthdays. We watched the pool table sit Empty for most of the night because they allow you to rent the table and not play it. Total waste of a resource. What should of been a fun night, turned out to be disappointment and frustration in waiting for a table that no one was playing. Food was Very good will give them that. Drinks seemed overpriced and weak/watered down.
Great place to gather with Friends! Electric atmosphere, like being at a block party!
Location was under staffed and the food that was served was cold.
Always fun..cool place in the city
Great food, good service. Originally we were seated next to the speaker that was there for a special event and it was so loud! The hostess was able to move us to another table.
Food and drinks where amazing who ever was covering are section was not on the ball a waitress who was busy still had the time to come over and serve us but who ever was supposed to cover are table dropped the ball bad waited 25 minutes until a different waitress came over and took care of us the hole night even thought are table was not hers to cover.
The host couldn’t seem to be bothered. Service was sluggish for being moderately slow. And even after requesting a reg. table, was given a high top where the stool was uneven and rocked. Food was decent though.
Jam packed, but service and food were perfecto. Not even a long wait! Very well managed. Terrific for large families and groups.
Great burgers. Music too loud
We tried out GPub for restaurant week and really enjoyed it. It was a quiet weeknight so the atmosphere was definitely more quiet than game days or weekends. The food was delicious and the dessert, to die for! Would definitely recommend.
The environment is great. Having the pool tables, etc. for the kids was good too. The food was basic at best, nothing special. We had a hair in our nachos and had to ask for it to be taken off the bill even though we didn't even eat 1/4 of it before finding the hair. The service was awful. They didn't clear plates or glasses. There was six people in our group. At one point most of our dinner dishes were on the table and twelve glasses and she brought out our desert. Would only recommend as a place to have some drinks and watch a sporting event. Eat somewhere else.
Great food & excellent service. It was very busy on a Saturday night but we were seated quickly with our reservation. We even ended up with a fire alarm going off, but that was handled quickly and end. With the large crowd we got our food & drinks in plenty of time to get to PPAC for a show.
Fun atmosphere but decidedly too loud. The live musician was not at all talented and only add more noise to an overpowering volume.
It was quiet busy due to the Patriots Playoff game being on.
I had reserved a table and when i got to the restaurant they couldn't seat me right away because there were other people at our table. It wasn't until i asked again and the hostess forced the people to leave that we were able to site down.
The table was not wiped down or cleaned when we sat down and was noticeably dirty. Our server took a long time to show up and when she did she did not have the drink menu. After some time she came back with the drink menu and after we looked it over we realized there was no beer on it. We again waited for a while for our server to come back at which point we asked her for the beer menu . We only had drinks no food.
There were 2 Tvs mounted on the wall in our area only one of the TVs was turned on. Midway through the game an employee at the restaurant turned the other TV on and got it setup properly for the patriots game. I noticed a number of other TVs across the bar that were not one either
I had booked with open table for a table for 8. They called me and asked me to call to confirm the reservation which I did and left a message. When I arrived with 8 people they told me they cancelled the reservation. I could see on their tablet that my name was there and that I still had a reservation. They sat us as quickly as they could. The food was good but they forgot several things that we ordered and then we had a difficult time finding our waitress to pay the bill.
The initial confusion with our reservation would probably not make me book here again.
Very accommodating manager and server, who managed to move us when TV’s were not working in front of us to watch the football game
Everything was good .. only exception we waited a long time for service. Another server (thank god for her) noticed that we hadn’t been waited on, and found our server.
Menu offerings are for everyone; service was fantastic; love the ambiance and cannot wait to visit again
Highly recommended! Fun atmosphere with great food and drinks!
We went with a group of 8, 4 adults and 4 children. They sat us in the back of the restaurant near the game tables. The kids were able to play while we waited for our food which was so much fun for them. The food was delicious and our server was wonderful. We will definitely be back and I will definitely recommend G Pub to friends.
We had a great experience going to G-Pub pre theatre. We got delicious drinks and a few appetizers. The drinks were creative and garnished beautifully. Beef jerky, a giant sour pickle and an olive in my tequila bloody mary. Outstanding. Nachos with guacamole were excellent and perfect for our group of 4. We also had calamari. Friendly attentive waitstaff and bartender. I would definitely go back. Very close walking distance to PPAC. Nice parking lot for $10 for events right near it. Recommend.
Really enjoyed trying GPub for the first time with a friend. Cocktails were amazing and Katrina was such an attentive, amazing server. The food was absolutely incredible—crispy fish taco is a must-try.
Very reasonable pricing for downtown Providence and great value.
We are looking forward to coming back soon!
The bill was supposed to be split, however, both charges were applied to my card. Would like to be rectified.
Food and service were great . The live music was way too loud to have and conversation and he never took a break.
Dinner before PPAC performance. We have 4 kids and 3 adults and everyone had a great meal and experience. 6pm reservation...free valet parking ...fast service...perfect spot before PPAC events!
All good except bar service. A Manhattan cocktail was incorrectly made (just bourbon, no sweet vermouth)on the second try they added a cinnamon flavored mixer (Fireball?). The third time the manager came over with a impatient attitude asking how the Manhattan should be made, which is astounding since it’s only a two liquor mix. Surprised that the service was so bad.
It was a perfect night, food was great and our server Lia was awesome. She took care all 10 of us. Great job.
Love this place. Our second time visiting. Will definitely be back as our son is at Providence College. Love it!
Had a bad experience here. Came to watch the patriots game, couldnt hear the game, volume wasnt loud enough. Ordered Nachos and had to wait over 30 mins for them, they didnt even have meat on them. It was freezing inside, dont know why they have the ac going during the fall season. Food wasnt that great either. Won't be coming again.
We were a large group (12) and were accommodated without issue, although it was early (4:30). The food and drinks were very good- although the beer selection wasn’t extensive. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. The waitress was inattentive- didn’t take our order in a timely manner, didn’t check on us, and forgot our second round of drinks. Really cool atmosphere- I’d go back and hope for a different server.
Great experience! First time dining here. Great ambiance, and loved the live music! Drinks were a little expensive, especially for the quantity given per glass. Also food a little pricey. However, still great overall experience!
I Would recommend it only because it's convenient and easily accessible to other destinations downtown. They changed their menu and now offer duck with fois gras butter(YUK). A vegetarian option would have been better or for those who don't want to eat liver or ducks, maybe going back to the chicken and spinach or maybe another pasta dish.
First time visiting Gpub and was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant. There is plenty of seating options, whether you like a booth, high top table, or bar seat. Staff was friendly and very attentive. The food was excellent! Portions are perfect, with not an overwhelming amount of food but enough to leave some room for the drinks or a dessert. They have some great beer and cocktail options, most of which are from local RI and MA breweries. I would recommend this for a casual night out with friends, a large group dinner, or a place to enjoy some apps and drinks while you play a game of pool or shuffle board. The atmosphere is great and the food is even better!
Food was good but not great. Nice place to go for a casual dinner!
They overbooked and the staff was overwhelmed. Even tough we made our reservation 3 weeks ahead of time, they still crammed 5 of us at a table for 4 up against a cement column. We complained and were told that they were just too busy to do anything about it. at first, the waitress came right over and we thought the service would be great. unfortunately, it wasn't. As I said, they were understaffed for the crowd they put in. We waited 20 minutes for water and 45 minutes for food once the order was placed. When I got my ribs, they were so burned, I couldn't even curt them with the steak knife they gave me. I would've complained, but we didn't see the waitress again until she dropped off the bill. At that time, we were in a hurry to leave. Been here 4 other times before and this is becoming a recurring theme. Great if you just want beer and snacks, but don't expect a good dinner with attentive service.
Great drinks and food! Live music at night which can make it really loud.
Perfect location near the Providence performing arts Center. They easily accommodated a group of eight. The food was perfect for the mix of company we had. Highly recommend before a PPC event!
Service not the best. This is a place for drinks and socializing and I wouldn't return for the food again.
