About G Pub
G Pub is a modern gastropub with a speakeasy feel and a scratch kitchen that broadcasts every game, every night. Opened in 2014, G Pub features an eclectic mix of traditional pub food and drink favorites with an artisanal approach. Located in the basement of the Providence G, which was formerly the Providence Gas Building, the décor is based on the building’s original 1920’s framework. Rustic raw materials blend with modern touches, creating a warm and welcoming ambiance. Despite its historic past and decor, the G Pub offers all of the modern amenities one would expect in a pub today, including 17 LED TV’s, billiards, shuffleboard, air hockey and much more.
*We do have a sister restaurant, the Rooftop at the Providence G, if you would like to make reservations for the Rooftop, please visit: https://www.opentable.com/rooftop-at-providence-g?covers=2&dateTime=2017-07-20%2019%3A00

G Pub Ratings and Reviews
It was quiet busy due to the Patriots Playoff game being on.
I had reserved a table and when i got to the restaurant they couldn't seat me right away because there were other people at our table. It wasn't until i asked again and the hostess forced the people to leave that we were able to site down.
The table was not wiped down or cleaned when we sat down and was noticeably dirty. Our server took a long time to show up and when she did she did not have the drink menu. After some time she came back with the drink menu and after we looked it over we realized there was no beer on it. We again waited for a while for our server to come back at which point we asked her for the beer menu . We only had drinks no food.
There were 2 Tvs mounted on the wall in our area only one of the TVs was turned on. Midway through the game an employee at the restaurant turned the other TV on and got it setup properly for the patriots game. I noticed a number of other TVs across the bar that were not one either
I had booked with open table for a table for 8. They called me and asked me to call to confirm the reservation which I did and left a message. When I arrived with 8 people they told me they cancelled the reservation. I could see on their tablet that my name was there and that I still had a reservation. They sat us as quickly as they could. The food was good but they forgot several things that we ordered and then we had a difficult time finding our waitress to pay the bill.
The initial confusion with our reservation would probably not make me book here again.
We went with a group of 8, 4 adults and 4 children. They sat us in the back of the restaurant near the game tables. The kids were able to play while we waited for our food which was so much fun for them. The food was delicious and our server was wonderful. We will definitely be back and I will definitely recommend G Pub to friends.
We had a great experience going to G-Pub pre theatre. We got delicious drinks and a few appetizers. The drinks were creative and garnished beautifully. Beef jerky, a giant sour pickle and an olive in my tequila bloody mary. Outstanding. Nachos with guacamole were excellent and perfect for our group of 4. We also had calamari. Friendly attentive waitstaff and bartender. I would definitely go back. Very close walking distance to PPAC. Nice parking lot for $10 for events right near it. Recommend.
Really enjoyed trying GPub for the first time with a friend. Cocktails were amazing and Katrina was such an attentive, amazing server. The food was absolutely incredible—crispy fish taco is a must-try.
Very reasonable pricing for downtown Providence and great value.
We are looking forward to coming back soon!
All good except bar service. A Manhattan cocktail was incorrectly made (just bourbon, no sweet vermouth)on the second try they added a cinnamon flavored mixer (Fireball?). The third time the manager came over with a impatient attitude asking how the Manhattan should be made, which is astounding since it’s only a two liquor mix. Surprised that the service was so bad.
Had a bad experience here. Came to watch the patriots game, couldnt hear the game, volume wasnt loud enough. Ordered Nachos and had to wait over 30 mins for them, they didnt even have meat on them. It was freezing inside, dont know why they have the ac going during the fall season. Food wasnt that great either. Won't be coming again.
We were a large group (12) and were accommodated without issue, although it was early (4:30). The food and drinks were very good- although the beer selection wasn’t extensive. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. The waitress was inattentive- didn’t take our order in a timely manner, didn’t check on us, and forgot our second round of drinks. Really cool atmosphere- I’d go back and hope for a different server.
I Would recommend it only because it's convenient and easily accessible to other destinations downtown. They changed their menu and now offer duck with fois gras butter(YUK). A vegetarian option would have been better or for those who don't want to eat liver or ducks, maybe going back to the chicken and spinach or maybe another pasta dish.
First time visiting Gpub and was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant. There is plenty of seating options, whether you like a booth, high top table, or bar seat. Staff was friendly and very attentive. The food was excellent! Portions are perfect, with not an overwhelming amount of food but enough to leave some room for the drinks or a dessert. They have some great beer and cocktail options, most of which are from local RI and MA breweries. I would recommend this for a casual night out with friends, a large group dinner, or a place to enjoy some apps and drinks while you play a game of pool or shuffle board. The atmosphere is great and the food is even better!
They overbooked and the staff was overwhelmed. Even tough we made our reservation 3 weeks ahead of time, they still crammed 5 of us at a table for 4 up against a cement column. We complained and were told that they were just too busy to do anything about it. at first, the waitress came right over and we thought the service would be great. unfortunately, it wasn't. As I said, they were understaffed for the crowd they put in. We waited 20 minutes for water and 45 minutes for food once the order was placed. When I got my ribs, they were so burned, I couldn't even curt them with the steak knife they gave me. I would've complained, but we didn't see the waitress again until she dropped off the bill. At that time, we were in a hurry to leave. Been here 4 other times before and this is becoming a recurring theme. Great if you just want beer and snacks, but don't expect a good dinner with attentive service.
My second time here. This time my biggest complaint is that our server also had a table of 20 and for the most part ignored us while attending to the other table. What was most troublesome is that there were two managers on duty who walked by our table, wanted to make sure we were well situated, but did nothing to address our lack of service. The restaurant wasn't that crowded. They could have assigned another server to help (especially since they bunched multiple tables to accommodate the table of 20). Furthermore when we were done, the managers walked by several times but never picked up the credit card for payment. They need to work on their service protocols.
Very nice restaurant for people who want to go for a drink after work. There was live music which was good and many people on a small dance floor. It was very loud and totally inadequate for conversation if you go for dinner. Our reservations were for 6:30 and the waitress said the music would be finished in an hour. We were re-seated so my guest and I could hear one another speak. There were no seats available that one could talk with normal conversation. Very disappointing. I would have left but the service was excellent and that is why we stayed. They were very accommodating and genuinely understanding the situation.
We had nachos, fish tacos and the G-town burger w/sweet potato fries. The food was good.
There were 7 in our party, and everyone had a great time! We have recommended G Pub a few times, as have others in our party. Our waiter was fantastic and helpful! Food was delicious and the presentation was an added surprise. Craft beers were plentiful! The atmosphere was quite pleasant - something for everyone! Pool table, Foosball, Air Hockey, TV's, Music, etc... Definitely will return! Thank you all for a great time!!!
I made a reservation for my dad and I before a concert. Our reservation was for 6:30 PM, we showed up around 6:20, and were seated. We knew what we wanted as we were tight on time, so we ordered right away, that was the last time we ever saw our waitress. At 7:10 I asked the host whether or not he could check on our food as it had been 40 minutes since we ordered. He said it would be another 10 minutes until it came out. We finally walked out at 7:20 PM. We ordered a sandwich and a wrap, that shouldn't take more than 50 minutes to make. I would never recommend this place to anyone but do recommend the pizza place across from PPAC.
We were 5-10 minutes late for a 6:30 reservation The restaurant did not seem too too busy. We waited 20 min to be waited on. We ordered beers and food at same time. The beers came in about 15 min. We canceled the food order at 7:35 after asking about the food and being told it would not be coming for at least 7 more minutes. We had tickets to an 8 PM show at the PPAC
The food we had was good, but the kitchen was hugely backed up due to large parties and our basic meal took 2 hours. I wouldn't have ordered dessert if I had realized it was going to take as long as it did. Additionally, the restaurant had apparently underestimated what it would need for the recent PVD festival, and they were out of several things that we were hoping to order, including two beers, any hard cider on tap, at least one side dish, and one dessert. Also, the high-top tables were quite wobbly. The food and drink we got was good, but I was disappointed by the overall experience at the time we were there.
First visit. Food was fantastic! Server was not very good. Delivered drinks and one was missing straw. Said she would be right back with a straw. She disappeared. I ended up going to bar and getting a straw myself. She didn't come back until after our food had been delivered...no straw...not sure she remembered. If it was busy, I would have understood, however it was just after noon on a Sunday and we were one of her two tables.
We were the only table sat in the entire restaurant, yet service was unattentive and slow. We split an appetizer and two pints, but were not offered the advertised "2'sday Tuesday" promotion. The 'Bacon & Brussels' appetizer was listed with cured pork belly, which was really just bacon (I mean, bacon IS cured pork belly, but it seems misleading). The dish itself was well-composed, but seemed like it was cooked in oil that was too hot, giving a strong creosote flavor. I got the Jersey Ripper dog which was pretty tasty. My girlfriend got the Cuban sandwich, which did not come with pickles or mustard that were listed on the menu (and also kind of a crucial component of that sandwich). My hot dog came with regular fries, while hers came with sweet potato fries; Both were overly salty and clearly previously frozen.
