As always, we had a great experience at G. Michael’s! Thank you!

This was a big disappointing for us. Previously the food was awesome. Our calamari appetizer was completely saturated in oil and dripping oil everywhere. My trout was swimming in oil along with the spinach. My friend ordered pork and it was served up close to rare. His replacement meal took another 20 + minutes. I love this restaurant but probably won’t be going back. Raw pork and saturated seafood seems highly unnecessary and unfortunate.

G. Michaels never disappoints in any aspect. Menu changes seasonally, and we have never been disappointed. Seafood is fresh and from small local farmers. The service is always awesome and servers give great recommendations. We always look forward to going back!

I was annoyed that the restaurant has adopted a policy of contacting people the day of their reservation to confirm if they are going to keep the reservation. Dutifully, I called back. The person who answered the phone over communicated, which added to my annoyance. (Turned out it was the maitre D) I requested a quiet table and his response was "It all depends if the tables around you are noisy." In other words, "tough luck, too bad. We can't promise anything. We can't give you better service." Then when we arrived, exactly on time, the restaurant wasn't ready for us. The maitre D again, over communicated in an annoying way. We waited another 10 minutes. And... sure enough, the table where we were seated was noisy to the point that we couldn't hear ourselves talk. The waitress was delightful. But, food was overpriced. I have been to G Michaels before but this experience was poor. We will not return nor recommend it to our friends.

I had the Chicken Liver small plate and the Shrimp and Grits; both were outstanding. My wife had the House Salad and Veal Chop, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Great environment. We'll be back.

G. Michael's Bistro and Bar was just lovely from start to finish. Our waiter was knowledgeable about all of the dishes and wines and really helped us decide on what were the absolute best items on the menu. Our dinners were delicious and priced right. The amount of food was perfect and the chef definitely brought out the best in the food by paring them with appropriate vegetables and sauces. The ambiance was quiet and cozy. I'd definitely go back!

Not sure how we have lived in Columbus our how lives and never heard of this place since it’s been open for almost 20 years. My boyfriend got the 16oz NY strip special and I got the fried chicken. Both meals were amazing. We got the lemon tart for dessert...it was delicious as well. The drinks were great. Our service was great, Tim was very pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Great little restaurant. We will return in the future.

We had a wonderful meal on Saturday evening. I had the special which was an Alaskan Halibut filet with cream sauce. Great taste!! My other half had the blackened Mahi Mahi. Excellent seasoning. For dessert, we both had the Bourbon Pecan Pie with a scoop of ice cream. Awesome!!
Our server did a great job. We have been to this restaurant many times and have never been disappointed. Keep up the great work!!

We took advantage of the Monday night special prefix dinner. The food was very good but there was way too much of it. Gratin appetizer was enough for an entree, which meant the BBQShrimp entree was too much to finish. The chocolate cake was not as described and was also too large. Entrees came out before appetizer was finished but were then removed and served later. A disappointing evening.

After many good visits here, we were surprised to have a poor experience. We made the mistake of ordering off of the Dine Originals Week menu. My pan-fried skate wing seemed to be a marginal piece of fish with a greasy pan-fried coating. The accompanying grits and asparagus were unable to add much flavor. My friend ordered the braised veal cheeks, again a marginal piece of meat (very fatty) with an OK flavor. This meal was not up to the standard to which I am accustomed here. Granted it was restaurant week, but with a final bill of $120 (incl tip and just a single glass of wine between us), this meal made a poor impression to the extent that I know there are better restaurant values in this town. Disappointing. It will be a while before I go back.

We always have a great time at G Michael's. Our group is at least 6 people and sometimes 7. The service is always professional. The timing is very good. We go to a play or to the symphony so we want to get out on time. We always do-even without a reminder. I tell them when I make the reservations. We always have at least 4 or 5 checks. This is always done for us without comment. They are happy to do it. The menu is varied and our folks always find something they like even though they have dietary restrictions. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys fine dining.

I had eaten here once before, and wanted to take my fiancé, brother and sister-in-law there for dinner before the Columbus Jazz Orchestra concert. The meal was spectacular and Alex provided great service! The two at our table who had the flounder offered opinion that the crust was too heavy, otherwise delicious. My brother and I adored the duck. I had the lemon ginger snap tart for dessert and savored every bite!

Always a delicious meal and this was superb. Was a birthday and I felt special there. Server was so pleasant and helpful in decision regarding course selections. We each had one of the specials...skirt steak was flavorful but slightly tough. Flounder was the best I've ever had as were the bacon wrapped scallops which accompanied the fish. Graham cracker calamari was delicious and tender. Chocolate pot de creme was smooth and a perfect end to a great meal. Valet attendant was on the spot...retrieved our car when saw us on the way and offered his arm to assist on the exterior steps.

Sunday meal, seating professionally set, nice bar set up, quickly seated nice offering of appetizers and main courses, each with a unique spin on the ingredients. The Menu offered Many combinations I have not seen before. When what we ordered was served the presentation was a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. All food arrived in a timely fashion. My only regret was we did not order desert, as the meal was more than enough considering it was impossible to leave any amount of each course behind. Maybe the next time, I would recommend to anyone wanting to impress, or if you are looking for that one step better.

We had an early dinner after a matinee at the Ohio Theater. Service and cuisine were both excellent. Noise level was fine until around 6:30 when it became fairly noisy.

For starters, we shared the brussell sprouts with blue cheese and the calimari. Both were fabulous and had unique flavor profiles.

Two of our party had the duck (menu item) which was extremely tender. Another had the very flavorful and tender lamb -- two different cuts served medium rare. The flounder special with basmati rice was good but the flounder was a bit dry.

We had an excellent barbaresco from the Captain's list -- about 2x retail price.

The food was amazing, we decided to try some things on the menu that we may not typically choose and we were not disappointed. Their version of calamari was the best I have ever had and I went for the quail and scallops because it was a combination I would never have otherwise chosen and it was amazing. The service was perfect. When we first sat down the heat was blasting on our table and all I had to do was ask once for them to fix the issue and it was fixed and they were very nice about it. The atmosphere is ver cozy and upscale yet casual and comfortable. Not too loud so we could carry on a very comfortable conversation with each other. The bread pudding was also delicious. I wish this place was in Indy, I would go there all the time.

Have been to this restaurant on many occasions and must say this last experience was not good. Pricy food that wasn’t flavorful and a pushy waiter who wanted to turn the table quickly. When asked to substitute a vegetable was told no. I have been to many fine restaurants who would never consider that an issue. Will think twice before returning.
