G. Foley's Ratings and Reviews
I honestly was a little disappointed. I was not aware (or was it ever made known through the online reservations, or over the phone) that on Valentine's day the whole menu would be set aside for the 100$ couples dinner. We had our minds set on what we wanted prior to arriving, and tonight out that anything we wanted, we couldn't get. So we left. Great environment, great people, bad idea to not keep the whole menu available.
Had reservation for Valentine Dinner. Found out after we were seated that they only had a $50 per person special dinner - wasn't informed by open table, but okay we were there so we stayed. Ordered the steamed Brussels sprout appetizer and they came out raw - sent those back and ordered the fried oysters that were very good, then had the beef medallions for the main course that came out warm with garlic potatoes that were cold and not edible. The four course meal came with a dessert to split so we ordered the cheesecake -- it came out still frozen! Sorry, but for this to be such an expensive meal it missed the mark this time!
g.Foley's had a chef who was simply not good the last time my husband and I went there and I said I would not go back until that guy was gone. Luckily, management invited him to move on and hired an excellent interim chef until they could finish their permanent "chef search." Our dinner was on the last night of the temp chef and his performance was great. I had one of the newer appetizers, grilled shrimp on hoecakes and black grouper over potato chowder for my entree. The hoecakes were dense but flavorful, the shrimp nicely seasoned and the portion large enough for me to have to take some home :) The grouper was slightly crisp (as it should be) and the chowder very flavorful. We were happy with our martinis and pleased with our evening.
Extremely rowdy atmosphere in main dining room...could hardly hear ourselves talk....certainly poor insulation for walls and ceiling...takes away the class that this restaurant should have.
And if some patrons are only there for a drink during happy hour you should sit them at the bar, not in the dining room
Food and service were excellent...but it was a wasted occasion. I doubt we will return and doubt I will recommend to friends.

Have eaten here before and had great experiences. Made reservation so could get dinner before a show. We had a great waitress and the drinks and apps were good as well. However, after an hour we had not received our entrees so we had to leave in order to make it to our show without eating. It was upsetting considering that we had made a reservation and that the restaurant did not appear to be over capacity. The manager did comp our ticket despite our protests that we were fine with paying for what we ate. Maybe it was an anomaly. The manager was very pleasant and the restaurant is very nice and very clean with a great menu. Hated to leave without eating.
gFoley’s is our New Year’s Eve spot. Three years now. Ambience and food and service always excellent. Only disappointment this year was no entertainment. We left earlier than usual bc of it in case management is interested. Still my fav restaurant in Panama City.
Hostess & waiter did a very good job. Resturant was not super busy but took a long time to get food. Once received my steak was under cook and had to be sent back. wife & sister-in-law got same chicken dish and they both commented on it no having any flavor. Overall experience was not good.
Had a wonderful dining experience. Requested a patio seat via open table, but due to a private party this was unavailable, and they met our requests (via the special comments tab) without a hitch. Our waitress, Ashley, was more than available, affable, and helpful without even the hint of hovering or over-presence. We never had an empty drink or an unanswered question. Would gladly dine again. Cheers.
This was our second visit to G. Foley's for the Happy Hour dinner. Our first time there was outstanding in every way, which was the reason for choosing G. Foley's again. The four of us ordered the pecan berry salad. The salad was much smaller than the one we had on our first visit. Each salad included one blueberry and no pecans. We ordered four different entrees, and they were very good. Overall, except for the salads, our dining experience was very enjoyable. We will go back again.
This was absolutely a place we would highly recommend to our friends and family when they visit the Panama City Beach area! Everything from the incredible food to the friendly staff and great service is something to brag about! We will definitely be back next time we are here! Thanks for giving us such a great experience !!
My wife and I walked into G. Foley’s and there was no one to be seen. I had placed a reservation and we arrived exactly on time. After 10 minutes, a server appeared, saw us waiting and seated us. Later a hostess and what seemed liked a manager showed up drinking fountain pops and proceeded to stand around and chit chat. Our server was great, but the food was saturated with salt. We had a great anniversary dinner here a month earlier, but you couldn’t pay me to have lunch here again. No wonder the restaurant was empty.
I have mixed feelings about this place. Parts of my meal, and those of my friends, were really quite wonderful. Others parts were mediocre at best. The pork chop was excellent. The chicken and dumplings got good reviews. The shrimp and grits were and embarrassment. The desire to have a "fresh take" on the dish was an utter failure. The bar was excellent and the table service was outstanding.
It has been a few years since we ate at G. Foley's as our previous visits the food was just ok. This night we were pleasantly surprized with the new menu that included a few specials was outstanding. We also were fortunate as Thursday's is 1/2 price bottle night.
I would suggest come back to G. Foley's and taste their new menu.
