Service super slow
Service was slow both nights. Food was just ok. Wanted to film the smoked old fashioned drink for social media exposure and the machine was broken. We have stayed at RC all over the world and this Pentagon City restaurant is on the bottom of the list. Surprising for the RC brand.
It was fine but nothing extraordinary. Got the Virginian and crabcakes were generous as far as meat but a bit wet — could use some crisping up. Eggs cooked pretty well. Starter cheddar and chive biscuits left much to be desired. Also, the interior was a bit dark and there was a strange photo with a man and a woman’s foot near his face. Not exactly appetizing.
The food was amazing and the facility was well-maintained but it lacked service.
It took over ten minutes to get my coffee refilled.
A great last minute find for an early breakfast before heading in to DC. The food was great and proportioned just right. The service was outstanding!
I had brunch with lemon pancakes. The syrup case out in a bottle coated in red powder. When I pointed this out to the waitress, she told me I should just wipe the powder and for with my fingers and use it. Hmm, that’s great, then I would need to go wash my hands and what the heck is the red powder? Seriously bad service...
My little nieces all look forward to their annual birthday tea at the Ritz Carlton. The food is visually exquisite and tastes divine, the presentation is brilliant, and their selection of teas quite perfect. What sets Fyve apart from other venues is the quality of their staff. The service is attentive and gracious, and they make women of all ages feel like royalty.
Our server was terrific and very attentive. She surprised my guests with desserts for birthday and retirement celebrations. The sea bass was too salty. My friend’s grits were clumpy. Overall, we had a great time and again, our server was lovely. I just had high expectations based on the description of the restaurant and its location in the Ritz.
Great Sunday Brunch here. They were very busy but service was still very good.
Excellent food in a lovely setting. Wine, a Merlot from Washington was superb. The Shrimp and Grits was particularly flavorful. Easy to get to and park which was important to us that evening.
We stayed at the hotel and decided just to eat in as we were tired after a long day. I cannot say enough great things about the service, food and total experience. The server was WONDERFUL. We had our 10 year old grandson with us, and she made sure he got exactly what he wanted for dinner even though it was not on the menu. She recommended the salmon to me which was out of this world. My husband's steak was perfection. Drinks were very good. Great value for DC prices. Will definitely return.
Always excellent service here by Danielle (maitre'd) and the staff who have been there on average of 18 years. Very little turnover rate here which speaks volumes to management and the entire operation.
Fast service and spot-on food.
Attentive service and wonderful food. A great evening with my spouse.
The restaurant was nice but I expected the food to be better.
Really disappointed in our experience at the Fyve Restaurant. We had a reservation for Valentine's day and honestly, could have made better food at home. Several dishes, like the butternut squash risotto and desserts, tasted like they were just reheated to room temperature from being frozen. The risotto entree and fish appetizer were incredibly bland. We did wine pairings and didn't receive the final wine that was supposed to go with our desserts. So we paid $250.00 for bland, lukewarm meal and didn't even get everything we paid for. What should have been a lovely, romantic evening out, was a huge disappointment and waste of money. It's a pretty restaurant, the hosts were very friendly, and the ambiance was nice. But the rest was a disaster.
I'm a frequent customer of the Fyve for breakfasts with business colleagues. The service is always efficient, attentive and courteous, the staff allows you to linger after the food is consumed to finish conversation topics, and it serves my favorite dishes.
We enjoyed our dinner and wine, but the service was superb, because of Daniella, the hostess who helped me with a mistake made on our Open Table reservation, and Raphael, our server. Great customer service is what makes it a nice dining experience. We went for restaurant week, and had the kale salad and short ribs, which was delicious.
The staff was great and very accommodating to one diner who had to eat gluten free. The Restaurant Week menu was great and an excellent value.
I’m a regular restaurant goer so it’s very hard to impress me. Everything about this place is amazing, the service was immediately impeccable, and the food was truly art. I’m sure to eat here a lot in the future, highly recommend!!!
The service was phenomenal and the food was great!
Went for restaurant week and the food was great!
Bring a shawl or sweater because it’s cold inside!
I took my college junior there for her birthday to show her where her hard work could land her. It was an amazing experience for my daughter to see what privileges her hard work could earn her!
This review was for Christmas Day brunch. Excellent food. Excellent service.
My friend and I had afternoon tea and it was delightful. Our server, Elizabeth, was friendly and helpful and remembered us from a prior visit. Great way for friends to spend an afternoon.
Our afternoon tea experience was loud, dark, and lacking holiday ambiance. The friendly waiter was inattentive after taking our order; we needed to ask a different waiter for our tea refill and yet another waiter for our check. Some of our food items were tasty; others were nothing special - overall the portions did not seem commensurate with the price. The cherry tea was delicious. We will not visit this venue again for afternoon tea.
Enjoyed the tea. Nice tea room. Only suggestion would be to make it more festive during the holidays. Put up some decorations.
Fyve has a wonderful tea and the service is outstanding.
Perfect for Saturday brunch with my husband, cousin, and her husband. Good selections for buffet and reasonably priced for a Saturday as opposed to a pricier Sunday brunch. Server brought out Gluten Free bread for my husband and I right away upon request - many thanks. Tables spaced far enough out that it was not noisy at all. Custom made omelets and plain yogurt with real fresh fruit mixed on the top (peach, blueberry, raspberry) was quite tasty. Beautiful holiday decor. We stayed for 2 hours and this will continue to be one of our nice go-to places for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays
If you like cottage cheese, this restaurant is for you. Bland. Overpriced. Underwhelming. I expected way more from a Ritz Carlton restaurant.
I enjoyed the experience a lot. Delicious food, wonderful ambience, excellent service. I highly recommend it!
Excellent service, wonderful selections, great food, delicious creative deserts, will definitely come back again
Select atmosphere, fantastic food and very good attention, highly recommended!!
Amazing food and great service. The Tuna Poke bowl is delicious. Great place for lunch and great vibe in the evening for Social Hour and Dinner. Staff is Top Notch. We will be back!!!
Delicious food, good ambiance, and attentive, friendly service. What more could you want?
Business Power Lunch with great Food and even better Service.
Great food. Impeccable service, which one would expect from a Ritz-Carlton restaurant. A little loud, but tolerable.
The service was excellent as always at the Ritz Carlton. The Shrimp and Grits were horrible. The Grits were grainy and undercooked. The Shrimp were rubbery and over cooked. Raphael my server was amazing and very responsive.
