Really disappointed in our experience at the Fyve Restaurant. We had a reservation for Valentine's day and honestly, could have made better food at home. Several dishes, like the butternut squash risotto and desserts, tasted like they were just reheated to room temperature from being frozen. The risotto entree and fish appetizer were incredibly bland. We did wine pairings and didn't receive the final wine that was supposed to go with our desserts. So we paid $250.00 for bland, lukewarm meal and didn't even get everything we paid for. What should have been a lovely, romantic evening out, was a huge disappointment and waste of money. It's a pretty restaurant, the hosts were very friendly, and the ambiance was nice. But the rest was a disaster.

I'm a frequent customer of the Fyve for breakfasts with business colleagues. The service is always efficient, attentive and courteous, the staff allows you to linger after the food is consumed to finish conversation topics, and it serves my favorite dishes.

We enjoyed our dinner and wine, but the service was superb, because of Daniella, the hostess who helped me with a mistake made on our Open Table reservation, and Raphael, our server. Great customer service is what makes it a nice dining experience. We went for restaurant week, and had the kale salad and short ribs, which was delicious.

The staff was great and very accommodating to one diner who had to eat gluten free. The Restaurant Week menu was great and an excellent value.

I’m a regular restaurant goer so it’s very hard to impress me. Everything about this place is amazing, the service was immediately impeccable, and the food was truly art. I’m sure to eat here a lot in the future, highly recommend!!!

I took my college junior there for her birthday to show her where her hard work could land her. It was an amazing experience for my daughter to see what privileges her hard work could earn her!

My friend and I had afternoon tea and it was delightful. Our server, Elizabeth, was friendly and helpful and remembered us from a prior visit. Great way for friends to spend an afternoon.

Enjoyed the tea. Nice tea room. Only suggestion would be to make it more festive during the holidays. Put up some decorations.

Our afternoon tea experience was loud, dark, and lacking holiday ambiance. The friendly waiter was inattentive after taking our order; we needed to ask a different waiter for our tea refill and yet another waiter for our check. Some of our food items were tasty; others were nothing special - overall the portions did not seem commensurate with the price. The cherry tea was delicious. We will not visit this venue again for afternoon tea.

Perfect for Saturday brunch with my husband, cousin, and her husband. Good selections for buffet and reasonably priced for a Saturday as opposed to a pricier Sunday brunch. Server brought out Gluten Free bread for my husband and I right away upon request - many thanks. Tables spaced far enough out that it was not noisy at all. Custom made omelets and plain yogurt with real fresh fruit mixed on the top (peach, blueberry, raspberry) was quite tasty. Beautiful holiday decor. We stayed for 2 hours and this will continue to be one of our nice go-to places for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays

If you like cottage cheese, this restaurant is for you. Bland. Overpriced. Underwhelming. I expected way more from a Ritz Carlton restaurant.

The service was excellent as always at the Ritz Carlton. The Shrimp and Grits were horrible. The Grits were grainy and undercooked. The Shrimp were rubbery and over cooked. Raphael my server was amazing and very responsive.

Fyve is a "captive experience" in the sense that only someone stuck at the Ritz Carleton on business would eat there. Sure, the food was good, but given the amazing restaurant scene in the MVA, I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to eat there. And the prices were...well it ain't called The Ritz for nothin'. The drinks were quite well prepared, albeit again, overpriced. But what do you expect from a joint that charges $49/day for parking?

Everything was fine, the only thing was when you go online, there is two different menus showing, and the on one menu it said Lamb Chops, I was so looking forward to that, but the menu given didn't have it

Sunday's buffet brunch added a 15-18% gratuity automatically to check. This was surprising since service on buffet days is noticeably poorer.

Can't comment on the food, since after reviewing their very limited brunch menu we left. Not even an omelet or plain waffle on the menu, but at least 6 variants of eggs benedict. Their version of french toast with peanut butter did not sound appealing. Seemed like they were trying way too hard to be trendy. Except in the decor, which was very sterile and uncomfortable.

The corn crab soup was absolutely incredible and the crab sliders and French fries excellent. The only bad note was at dessert. The ice cream flavor that accompanied the peach almond cake was awful, although the peach and almond cake were great. Our server was very attentive to my dining partner's gluten allergy.

The combination of outstanding, customized cuisine, attentive customer service and fun, atmosphere (when Tim Cretella is providing the musical entertainment) makes this my favorite getaway with family and friends. I never feel rushed and the food is the best quality available in Pentagon City. The chef and staff know and understand how to treat gluten free (Celiac) customers with no drama or hesitation.

While the selections for the Afternoon Tea were varied, the portions were made for mice. I've never attended an Afternoon Tea at a Hotel in which actual tea sandwiches were not provided. The only normal size offering was the scone. Definitely not work the $40.

The food was very good, the atmosphere romantic and very quiet, and we had great service. Its menu is a little limited. Although there is a I number of entrees, appetizers and deserts are limited. My wife, a small eater ordered the two non-soup hot appetizers, a crab cake and a ravioli with scallops. I tried both and have to agree with my wife they were excellent. I ordered the special, a seafood pasta. It was a little spicy but also very good. We could not find anything we wished to order on the desert menu but felt like having something. We asked the server, if they had some sorbet or ice cream we could have as a desert. She checked and brought us a big bowl of raspberry sorbet. It was not on the menu but was part of one of the deserts. We were pleased that they accommodated our request.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for the food is although my meal was delicious my wife's chicken was little burnt. Also the creme brulee had citrus, which I believe is was what it was named, but the citrus did kind of ruin the taste. Holi the waitress was fantastic however, and made the experience phenomenal.

I've visited this restaurant quite a few times for their Sunday brunch and I have yet to be disappointed. This latest time I went on Father's day and the food was great as expected. This time it was just buffet although I know that other times you have a menu choice along with the buffet. Nonetheless the service was great and so was the food. Would recommend for large groups as well.
